Danima sam, tobože usput, "kopao" po inernetu, ali uzalud – ni jedna pjesma nije procurila prije službenog datuma objave novog albuma, najavljenog za 18. prosinca.

Kao, nije me bilo previše briga, ali zapravo nije bilo dana da od početka prosinca nisam upisao "Paul McCartney new album" u tražilice na više adresa.

"Na izvol'te" je bio tek službeni trailer albuma s obećavajućom sekvencom na akustičnoj gitari i odličnim, čvrstim ritmom koji se nadovezuje na uvod. Takvu (diskografsku) disciplinu si danas mogu priuštiti samo veliki igrači. Ili egomanijaci. I onda su se prošlog petka na YouTubeu pojavile sve pjesme. Nešto poput božićni dar za sve neliječene fanove duha "beatlemanije". Ono što je McCartney stvarao za prvog "lockdowna" (on sam bi rekao "rockdowna"), sada je na putu da postane soundtrack drugog, tzv. light lockdowna, za sve koji su Djedu Mrazu pisali isto što i ja.

Živ je i Ringo, ali...

Kao što kolege "financijaši" na kraju tekstova o burzi navode koje dionice imaju, red je zato da odmah kažem kako nisam glazbeni kritičar, ali se od malih nogu – još otkako sam inficiran ritmom "From Me To You" – ubrajam u "beatle" fanove, pa je i svaki novi album Paula McCartneyja zapravo događaj. Da, hvala bogu, živ je i još jedan član liverpulske četvorke, Ringo Starr, ali njegova glazba odavno je zatvorena u okvirima melodijskih predvidivosti i zapravo ga, uz tek rijetke iznimke, već godinama kvalificira ravno u kategoriju glazbene kulise za plesnjake engleskih umirovljenika.

Macca je i danas neka druga priča. On je još uvijek, i u svojoj 78. godini, u stanju i svojim epigonima i pop-glazbenicima općenito zadati – zahtjevnu domaću zadaću.

A mene, koliko god se pravio da me njegovi "molovi" više ne pogađaju kao nekad – "durovi", tj. vesele, brze stvari i one u kojima želi "demonstrirati" da "još uvijek može" ionako mu nikad nisu previše pristajale! – vratiti u ono doba kad se "nova ploča" željno iščekivala, a glazba upijala, manje konzumirala.

Kažem ploča, jer je McCartney i ovaj put pustio u prodaju i vinilno izdanje, a za kolekcionare i crveni vinil u ograničenom izdanju... Ali pustimo to, za priču o kvaliteti albuma to je jednako važno kao i prefiks "Sir" ispred Paulova imena.

Tragajući po bespućima interneta za bilo kojom pjesmom s novog albuma, naletio sam na vijest da je McCartney snimio i šestodijelni dokumentarni serijal u kojem, zajedno s jednim od vodećih producenata današnjice, Rickom Rubinom, "prekapa" po vlastitoj glazbenoj biografiji, od Beatlesa do danas.

I makar sam prethodno već znao da je "McCartney III" one man band uradak, u kojem je Macca – kao i na dva prethodna "McCartney" albuma (iz 1970. i 1980.) na kojima je odsvirao sve instrumente – sam sebe producirao, slutio sam da se to druženje mora negdje "čuti" na albumu, makar u odjecima, ma koliko album bio zamišljen kao krajnje osoban i nepretenciozan. I bio sam u pravu!

Na prve taktove pjesme "Women and Wives" neizbježna je asocijacija na Rubinovu produkciju antologijskih "American", pokazalo se oproštajnih, snimki jednog drugog velikana – Johnnyja Casha. Reducirano na gole emocije koje udaraju ravno u pleksus. Da se nisam prevario, potvrdila mi je i recenzija kolege Aleksandra Dragaša u Jutarnjem listu.

Ukorak s vremenom

Isto tako, gitare i "digitalni" zvuk bubnjeva na uvodu u "Slidin'" na trenutak vas dovode u dilemu – je li odjednom upala neka pjesma "Black Keysa", možda čak i "Arctic Monkeysa", što će reći da se Macca na pragu svojih osamdesetih bez problema kreće i prostorima moderne produkcije, prilagođene uhu današnje urbane publike.

Psihodelične natruhe iz stare kajdanke Beatlesa u srazu s modernom produkcijom, McCartney donosi u "Deep Deep Feeling"...

"Find My Way", "Pretty Boys", "Lavatory Lil" i "The Kiss of Venus" mogle su biti sastavni dio bilo kojeg njegova albuma od "Flaming Pie" (iz 1997., ove godine objavljen u remasteriranom i proširenom izdanju) pa nadalje. "Seize The Day" i "Deep Down" dođu nešto kao davno napisane, a tek sad snimljene stvari, po kojima ovaj album sigurno neće biti upamćen. Sve ostale pjesme (uključujući i uvodnu "Long Tailed Winter Bird", s čijom varijacijom album i završava) sve su mi bolje što ih više slušam, ali možda je upravo zato sad vrijeme i da se zaustavim!

Kao što rekoh, nisam glazbeni kritičar, a nisam ni objektivan u ovom slučaju. Nije sukob interesa, ali sudar simpatija svakako jest.

Ma, što simpatija!? Koja to simpatija traje desetljećima...

Danima sam, tobože usput, "kopao" po inernetu, ali uzalud – ni jedna pjesma nije procurila prije službenog datuma objave novog albuma, najavljenog za 18. prosinca.

Kao, nije me bilo previše briga, ali zapravo nije bilo dana da od početka prosinca nisam upisao "Paul McCartney new album" u tražilice na više adresa.

"Na izvol'te" je bio tek službeni trailer albuma s obećavajućom sekvencom na akustičnoj gitari i odličnim, čvrstim ritmom koji se nadovezuje na uvod. Takvu (diskografsku) disciplinu si danas mogu priuštiti samo veliki igrači. Ili egomanijaci. I onda su se prošlog petka na YouTubeu pojavile sve pjesme. Nešto poput božićni dar za sve neliječene fanove duha "beatlemanije". Ono što je McCartney stvarao za prvog "lockdowna" (on sam bi rekao "rockdowna"), sada je na putu da postane soundtrack drugog, tzv. light lockdowna, za sve koji su Djedu Mrazu pisali isto što i ja.

Živ je i Ringo, ali...

Kao što kolege "financijaši" na kraju tekstova o burzi navode koje dionice imaju, red je zato da odmah kažem kako nisam glazbeni kritičar, ali se od malih nogu – još otkako sam inficiran ritmom "From Me To You" – ubrajam u "beatle" fanove, pa je i svaki novi album Paula McCartneyja zapravo događaj. Da, hvala bogu, živ je i još jedan član liverpulske četvorke, Ringo Starr, ali njegova glazba odavno je zatvorena u okvirima melodijskih predvidivosti i zapravo ga, uz tek rijetke iznimke, već godinama kvalificira ravno u kategoriju glazbene kulise za plesnjake engleskih umirovljenika.

Macca je i danas neka druga priča. On je još uvijek, i u svojoj 78. godini, u stanju i svojim epigonima i pop-glazbenicima općenito zadati – zahtjevnu domaću zadaću.

A mene, koliko god se pravio da me njegovi "molovi" više ne pogađaju kao nekad – "durovi", tj. vesele, brze stvari i one u kojima želi "demonstrirati" da "još uvijek može" ionako mu nikad nisu previše pristajale! – vratiti u ono doba kad se "nova ploča" željno iščekivala, a glazba upijala, manje konzumirala.

Kažem ploča, jer je McCartney i ovaj put pustio u prodaju i vinilno izdanje, a za kolekcionare i crveni vinil u ograničenom izdanju... Ali pustimo to, za priču o kvaliteti albuma to je jednako važno kao i prefiks "Sir" ispred Paulova imena.

Tragajući po bespućima interneta za bilo kojom pjesmom s novog albuma, naletio sam na vijest da je McCartney snimio i šestodijelni dokumentarni serijal u kojem, zajedno s jednim od vodećih producenata današnjice, Rickom Rubinom, "prekapa" po vlastitoj glazbenoj biografiji, od Beatlesa do danas.

I makar sam prethodno već znao da je "McCartney III" one man band uradak, u kojem je Macca – kao i na dva prethodna "McCartney" albuma (iz 1970. i 1980.) na kojima je odsvirao sve instrumente – sam sebe producirao, slutio sam da se to druženje mora negdje "čuti" na albumu, makar u odjecima, ma koliko album bio zamišljen kao krajnje osoban i nepretenciozan. I bio sam u pravu!

Na prve taktove pjesme "Women and Wives" neizbježna je asocijacija na Rubinovu produkciju antologijskih "American", pokazalo se oproštajnih, snimki jednog drugog velikana – Johnnyja Casha. Reducirano na gole emocije koje udaraju ravno u pleksus. Da se nisam prevario, potvrdila mi je i recenzija kolege Aleksandra Dragaša u Jutarnjem listu.

Ukorak s vremenom

Isto tako, gitare i "digitalni" zvuk bubnjeva na uvodu u "Slidin'" na trenutak vas dovode u dilemu – je li odjednom upala neka pjesma "Black Keysa", možda čak i "Arctic Monkeysa", što će reći da se Macca na pragu svojih osamdesetih bez problema kreće i prostorima moderne produkcije, prilagođene uhu današnje urbane publike.

Psihodelične natruhe iz stare kajdanke Beatlesa u srazu s modernom produkcijom, McCartney donosi u "Deep Deep Feeling"...

"Find My Way", "Pretty Boys", "Lavatory Lil" i "The Kiss of Venus" mogle su biti sastavni dio bilo kojeg njegova albuma od "Flaming Pie" (iz 1997., ove godine objavljen u remasteriranom i proširenom izdanju) pa nadalje. "Seize The Day" i "Deep Down" dođu nešto kao davno napisane, a tek sad snimljene stvari, po kojima ovaj album sigurno neće biti upamćen. Sve ostale pjesme (uključujući i uvodnu "Long Tailed Winter Bird", s čijom varijacijom album i završava) sve su mi bolje što ih više slušam, ali možda je upravo zato sad vrijeme i da se zaustavim!

Kao što rekoh, nisam glazbeni kritičar, a nisam ni objektivan u ovom slučaju. Nije sukob interesa, ali sudar simpatija svakako jest.

Ma, što simpatija!? Koja to simpatija traje desetljećima...
