Nepobjedivi um Charlieja Kaufmana odgovoran je za scenarij animiranog filma "Orion i Mrak" ("Orion and the Dark"), DreamWorksovog crtića inspiriranog istoimenom slikovnicom Emme Yarlett koji je ovih dana premijerno osvanuo na Netflixu.

Kaufman je jedan od najosebujnijih scenarista unatrag 25 godina, autor scenarija za iznimno pametne i pomaknute filmove "Biti John Malkovich" i "Adaptacija" Spikea Jonzea, nagrađen Oscarom za "Vječni sjaj nepobjedivog uma" Michela Gondryja.

S vremenom je Kaufman počeo i režirati svoje scenarije ("Sinegdoha, New York", "Vrijeme je da okončam ovo"), a s "Anomalisom" je napravio redateljsko-scenaristički iskorak i u svijet animiranog filma, ali to nije bio materijal za djecu kao "Orion i Mrak".

Čini se da je Kaufman poželio krenuti tragom nekadašnjeg partnera Jonzea koji je snimio "U kraljevstvu divljih stvorenja" prema klasik slikovnici Mauricea Sendaka, samo što, za razliku od njega, nije i režirao svoju adaptaciju (kao redatelj ovog crtića potpisan je debitant Sean Charmatz).

Dakle, "Orion and the Dark" je Kaufmanov prvi "family friendly" (animirani) film, no njegov rukopis bit će prepoznatljiv filmofilima. "Orion i Mrak" je jedan neobičan crtić (referencije na Saula Bassa, glas Wernera Herzoga), k tome vrlo razgovorljiv, njegov glavni lik je prilično tjeskoban i pere ga egzistencijalna kriza neovisno o tome što je klinac, a tu je i poigravanje sa strukturom priče.

Da smo na Kaufmanovu terenu jasno je odmah od početka kad upoznamo Oriona (glas Jacoba Tremblayja; "Soba", "Čudo"), inteligentnog osnovnoškolca koji se boji svega živoga, smrti, pčela, morskih pasa, pada s nebodera, "bullyja", da će ga poniziti, rugati mu se... "Bojim se toliko toga", priznaje Orion. A od svega čega se boji, on se najviše boji – mraka.

"Strah te ne smije spriječiti da živiš. Katkad moraš osjetiti strah i odvažiti se", hrabre ga roditelji (Carla Gugino, Matt Dellapina), ali svejedno on želi da mu ostave upaljeno svjetlo u sobi. Jedne noći Orion će upoznati izvor svih svojih strahova – Mraka, glavom i tamom (odlična vokalna uloga Paula Waltera Hausera, na tragu one Robina Williamsa u "Aladinu").

Horor? Tako je djelovalo, nema straha za najmlađe. Jer, Mrak nije čudovište, već natprirodna pojava s nekim vlastitim strahovima, recimo da se osjeća manje voljen od Svjetla (Ike Barinholtz). "Nisam tražio da budem natprirodna pojava koja izaziva jezu i očaj", kaže Mrak i odluči riješiti Oriona svih strahova.

Mrak odvodi klinca s jednog kraja svijeta na drugi kako bi upoznao ostale natprirodne noćne pojave poput Nesanice, Neobjašnjivih šumova... kao svojevrsnog odgovora na monstrume iz "Čudovišta iz ormara", emocije iz Pixarova bisera "Izvrnuto obrnuto" ili elemente iz, hm, "Elemenata".

No, dok su emocije u "Inside Out" vodile glavnu riječ, ovdje je ljudski lik glavni i upravlja svojom pričom, čak je i kao odrasli čovjek/otac (Colin Hanks) pripovijeda kćerkici kad se crtić prebaci u budućnost ne bi li i ona prevladala njegov (nekadašnji) strah slušajući tatine avanture s Mrakom. O strahu treba pričati i treba ga crtati kao što to radi Orion u veoma poučnom djelcu za djecu i roditelje. "Orion and the Dark" je mrak crtić.

Nepobjedivi um Charlieja Kaufmana odgovoran je za scenarij animiranog filma "Orion i Mrak" ("Orion and the Dark"), DreamWorksovog crtića inspiriranog istoimenom slikovnicom Emme Yarlett koji je ovih dana premijerno osvanuo na Netflixu.

Kaufman je jedan od najosebujnijih scenarista unatrag 25 godina, autor scenarija za iznimno pametne i pomaknute filmove "Biti John Malkovich" i "Adaptacija" Spikea Jonzea, nagrađen Oscarom za "Vječni sjaj nepobjedivog uma" Michela Gondryja.

S vremenom je Kaufman počeo i režirati svoje scenarije ("Sinegdoha, New York", "Vrijeme je da okončam ovo"), a s "Anomalisom" je napravio redateljsko-scenaristički iskorak i u svijet animiranog filma, ali to nije bio materijal za djecu kao "Orion i Mrak".

Čini se da je Kaufman poželio krenuti tragom nekadašnjeg partnera Jonzea koji je snimio "U kraljevstvu divljih stvorenja" prema klasik slikovnici Mauricea Sendaka, samo što, za razliku od njega, nije i režirao svoju adaptaciju (kao redatelj ovog crtića potpisan je debitant Sean Charmatz).

Dakle, "Orion and the Dark" je Kaufmanov prvi "family friendly" (animirani) film, no njegov rukopis bit će prepoznatljiv filmofilima. "Orion i Mrak" je jedan neobičan crtić (referencije na Saula Bassa, glas Wernera Herzoga), k tome vrlo razgovorljiv, njegov glavni lik je prilično tjeskoban i pere ga egzistencijalna kriza neovisno o tome što je klinac, a tu je i poigravanje sa strukturom priče.

Da smo na Kaufmanovu terenu jasno je odmah od početka kad upoznamo Oriona (glas Jacoba Tremblayja; "Soba", "Čudo"), inteligentnog osnovnoškolca koji se boji svega živoga, smrti, pčela, morskih pasa, pada s nebodera, "bullyja", da će ga poniziti, rugati mu se... "Bojim se toliko toga", priznaje Orion. A od svega čega se boji, on se najviše boji – mraka.

"Strah te ne smije spriječiti da živiš. Katkad moraš osjetiti strah i odvažiti se", hrabre ga roditelji (Carla Gugino, Matt Dellapina), ali svejedno on želi da mu ostave upaljeno svjetlo u sobi. Jedne noći Orion će upoznati izvor svih svojih strahova – Mraka, glavom i tamom (odlična vokalna uloga Paula Waltera Hausera, na tragu one Robina Williamsa u "Aladinu").

Horor? Tako je djelovalo, nema straha za najmlađe. Jer, Mrak nije čudovište, već natprirodna pojava s nekim vlastitim strahovima, recimo da se osjeća manje voljen od Svjetla (Ike Barinholtz). "Nisam tražio da budem natprirodna pojava koja izaziva jezu i očaj", kaže Mrak i odluči riješiti Oriona svih strahova.

Mrak odvodi klinca s jednog kraja svijeta na drugi kako bi upoznao ostale natprirodne noćne pojave poput Nesanice, Neobjašnjivih šumova... kao svojevrsnog odgovora na monstrume iz "Čudovišta iz ormara", emocije iz Pixarova bisera "Izvrnuto obrnuto" ili elemente iz, hm, "Elemenata".

No, dok su emocije u "Inside Out" vodile glavnu riječ, ovdje je ljudski lik glavni i upravlja svojom pričom, čak je i kao odrasli čovjek/otac (Colin Hanks) pripovijeda kćerkici kad se crtić prebaci u budućnost ne bi li i ona prevladala njegov (nekadašnji) strah slušajući tatine avanture s Mrakom. O strahu treba pričati i treba ga crtati kao što to radi Orion u veoma poučnom djelcu za djecu i roditelje. "Orion and the Dark" je mrak crtić.

Jedne noći Orion će upoznati izvor svih svojih strahova – Mraka, glavom i tamom (odlična vokalna uloga Paula Waltera Hausera, na tragu one Robina Williamsa u "Aladinu").

Horor? Tako je djelovalo, nema straha za najmlađe. Jer, Mrak nije čudovište, već natprirodna pojava s nekim vlastitim strahovima, recimo da se osjeća manje voljen od Svjetla (Ike Barinholtz). "Nisam tražio da budem natprirodna pojava koja izaziva jezu i očaj", kaže Mrak i odluči riješiti Oriona svih strahova.

Mrak odvodi klinca s jednog kraja svijeta na drugi kako bi upoznao ostale natprirodne noćne pojave poput Nesanice, Neobjašnjivih šumova... kao svojevrsnog odgovora na monstrume iz "Čudovišta iz ormara", emocije iz Pixarova bisera "Izvrnuto obrnuto" ili elemente iz, hm, "Elemenata".

No, dok su emocije u "Inside Out" vodile glavnu riječ, ovdje je ljudski lik glavni i upravlja svojom pričom, čak je i kao odrasli čovjek/otac (Colin Hanks) pripovijeda kćerkici kad se crtić prebaci u budućnost ne bi li i ona prevladala njegov (nekadašnji) strah slušajući tatine avanture s Mrakom. O strahu treba pričati i treba ga crtati kao što to radi Orion u veoma poučnom djelcu za djecu i roditelje. "Orion and the Dark" je mrak crtić.
