Formirao se polako trend mahom britanskih ratnih filmova, udaljenih od prve crte bojišnice. Filmova utemeljenih na istinitoj priči u kojima se (Drugi svjetski) rat vodi i dobiva iz sjene, tj. barem pojedine njegove ključne bitke, podiže se moral od kuće ili se ratovanje pokušava zaustaviti prije nego počne.
Nakon "Kraljevog govora ", "Igre oponašanja ", "Prijelomnog časa " i "München: Na rubu rata ", taj trend filmova o tom "skrivenom" ratu nastavlja "Operacija Mincemeat" ("Operation Mincemeat"), nadahnuta knjigom Bena Macintyrea . "U svakoj priči, ako je dobra, postoji ono vidljivo i skriveno, posebice u ratu.

Vodio se još jedan rat s neobičnim sudionicima", obavještava nas narator definirajući ovakav tip filma i usput ističe kako "istinu štiti tjelohranitelj laži", sugerirajući da će ovo biti jedan dobro napisan komad ratnog špijunskog trilera, što i jest zahvaljujući scenaristici Michelle Ashford . U režiji iskusnog Johna Maddena , poznatog po "Zaljubljenom Shakespeareu" i "Hotelu Marigold ", "Operacija Mincemeat" je možda i najbolji film u povezanom nizu, svakako najzanimljiviji.
S Oscarom nagrađenim filmom "The King's Speech" povezuje ga oskarovac Colin Firth u glavnoj ulozi časnika Obavještajne služba pomorskih snaga Ewena Montagua , a s "The Darkest Hour" Winston Churchill kojeg je tamo igrao Gary Oldman i osvojio zlatni kipić za svoju ulogu, dok ga ovdje igra Simon Russell Beale . Zanimljivost filma očituje se ponajprije u istinitoj priči iz 1943. godine, prilično nevjerojatnoj, pa i bizarnoj.
Montagu i njegov kolega Charles Cholmondeley (Matthew Macfadyen ), uz pomoć još jednog časnika Obavještajne služba pomorskih snaga, nikog drugog doli tvorca agenta 007 Iana Fleminga (Johnny Flynn ), te osobne tajnice Hester Leggett (Penelope Wilton ) i službenice MI5 Jean Leslie (Kelly Macdonald ), vodili su titularnu ratnu operaciju.
Cilj operacije bio je da zavaraju nacističku Njemačku na čelu s Hitlerom da saveznici planiraju izvršiti invaziju na Grčku kako bi ih ustvari napali na Siciliji i preokrenuli tijek rata nakon što Nijemci povuku trupe odatle. Ratna operacija, strogo povjerljiva i odobrena na najvišoj razini, od admirala Johna Godfreyja (Jason Isaac ), prvotno se zvala "trojanski konj" da bi je preimenovali u "nešto manje očito", a počivala je, dakle, na obmani, "najvažnijem oružju u ratu".

Fingirani napad na Grčku prekriva stvarni napad na Siciliju. "Hitleru ćemo prirediti ponižavajuću spačku", najavljuje Montagu. Spačka se očituje u doista ludoj ideji za nepostojeću invaziju: Montagu i Cholmondeley pretvaraju mrtvaca, beskućnika Glyndwra Michaela , u fiktivnog bojnika Williama Martina kojeg će odjenuti u vojnu odoru i ubaciti u more blizu španjolske obale s dokumentima na temu napada na Grčku kako bi isti preko Španjolaca došli u ruke Nijemcima.
Sudbina svijeta je "na kocki", a taj svijet "ovisi o lešu", ističe netko ironiju. Naravno, mnogo toga se treba poklopiti da sve izgleda uvjerljivo, a priprema njihova plana na trenutke djeluje kao da je pristigla iz "heist" filma, s čime "Operation Mincemeat" koketira, uključujući i (crni) humor. Za početak, da lik kapetana Martina bude uvjerljiv, oni mrtvacu stvaraju lažni život, kreiraju njegov identitet, njegovu prošlost, tko je bio, koga je ljubio, pri čemu i sami (u sebi) počinju razmišljati o životima koje nisu živjeli.
Kad Montagu i ekipa udahnu Michaelu život kakav ovaj nije imao, film se bitno uzdiže iznad žanrovskog prosjeka i oduševljava humanošću, primjerice u čudesno emotivnoj sceni čitanja ljubavnog pisma djevojci koju napušta, sa suptilno podcrtanim emocijama u glazbi nesuđenog oskarovca Thomasa Newmana ("1917 "), nominiranog za zlatni kipić čak 15 puta.
Pismo je napisala Hester, a u njezinim riječima se prepoznaju svi akteri, poglavito Montagu i Jean. Oni se zbližavaju unatoč tome što je on oženjen (poslao je židovsku ženu i djecu u Ameriku), a ona udovica, ali njihova veza je u startu komplicirana i komplicira njegov odnos s Cholmondeleyjem kojemu se službenica također sviđa i zato pristaje špijunirati kolegu iza leđa pod sumnjom da je njegov brat Ivor (Mark Gatiss ), simpatizer komunizma, potencijalni ruski špijun.

Također, situacija s mrtvacem pojačava strah od smrti kod već ionako usamljenih, tužnih aktera. Emotivno snažna scena rađa se i u trenutku kad Michaelova sestra Doris (Gabrielle Creevy ) dođe po bratovo tijelo kako bi ga pokopala, da bi shvatila kako je on već neophodno žrtvovan za "viši cilj", odnosno angažiran da izvrši operaciju, iako je mrtav i nesvjestan herojske uloge koju će odigrati u povijesti i za povijest.
Egzistencijalizam je usađen u film, najviše u rečenici "jedan čovjek umire, drugi nastavlja putovanje", koja zrcali suštinu "Operacije Mincemeat". Madden je obavio lavovski posao na ovom staromodnom filmu (u najboljem smislu te riječi) odlične glume, balansirajući između žanrova i tonova, osobnog i profesionalnog.
S jedne takve moćne rečenice Madden se iznenađujuće lako prebacuje na trilersko-crnohumorne "heist" zavrzlame, tipa kad se stvar zamalo prometne u katastrofu nakon što se ispostavi da je u španjolski gradić, gdje se Michael nasukao, stigao stručni mrtvozornik iz Madrida kao zamjena za lokalnog (koji, računali su Montagu i ekipa, ne bi prepoznao uzrok smrti), i to specijaliziran za utopljenike.
Jednako tako, Madden čitavo vrijeme uspijeva načiniti "Operation Mincemeat" uzbudljivim, iako je enkripcija jedina akcija: obavještajni podaci koji su su "kao lov na pastrve", informacije i dezinformacije, šifriranja i dešifriranja pokreću akcijnost filma o "ratu sjenki" u kojem se najviše koriste oči, uši i riječi, a ne mišići, meci i bombe. No, od informacije do akcije nije dalek put i prevalit će ga poznati špijun iz Flemingova pera James Bond . Fleming svako malo tipka naraciju filma na pisaćoj mašini, možda i neki od njegovih budućih 007 romana.

Inspiracija za Jamesa Bonda
O ovoj operaciji već je snimljen jedan film. "The Man Who Never Was" Ronalda Neamea iz 1956. sa Cliftonom Webbom i Glorijom Grahame u glavnim ulogama, koji je bio adaptacija Montaguova memoara. Zanimljivo je da se Firth i MacFadyen prešutno natječu oko jedne žene; obojica su glumili gospodina Darcyja. Fanovima Bond-filmova bit će zanimljivo čuti kad netko spomene "Q" ogranak.

"Hitleru ćemo prirediti ponižavajuću spačku." – "Operacija Mincemeat" (2021.)
Formirao se polako trend mahom britanskih ratnih filmova, udaljenih od prve crte bojišnice. Filmova utemeljenih na istinitoj priči u kojima se (Drugi svjetski) rat vodi i dobiva iz sjene, tj. barem pojedine njegove ključne bitke, podiže se moral od kuće ili se ratovanje pokušava zaustaviti prije nego počne.
Nakon "Kraljevog govora ", "Igre oponašanja ", "Prijelomnog časa " i "München: Na rubu rata ", taj trend filmova o tom "skrivenom" ratu nastavlja "Operacija Mincemeat" ("Operation Mincemeat"), nadahnuta knjigom Bena Macintyrea . "U svakoj priči, ako je dobra, postoji ono vidljivo i skriveno, posebice u ratu.

Vodio se još jedan rat s neobičnim sudionicima", obavještava nas narator definirajući ovakav tip filma i usput ističe kako "istinu štiti tjelohranitelj laži", sugerirajući da će ovo biti jedan dobro napisan komad ratnog špijunskog trilera, što i jest zahvaljujući scenaristici Michelle Ashford . U režiji iskusnog Johna Maddena , poznatog po "Zaljubljenom Shakespeareu" i "Hotelu Marigold ", "Operacija Mincemeat" je možda i najbolji film u povezanom nizu, svakako najzanimljiviji.
S Oscarom nagrađenim filmom "The King's Speech" povezuje ga oskarovac Colin Firth u glavnoj ulozi časnika Obavještajne služba pomorskih snaga Ewena Montagua , a s "The Darkest Hour" Winston Churchill kojeg je tamo igrao Gary Oldman i osvojio zlatni kipić za svoju ulogu, dok ga ovdje igra Simon Russell Beale . Zanimljivost filma očituje se ponajprije u istinitoj priči iz 1943. godine, prilično nevjerojatnoj, pa i bizarnoj.
Montagu i njegov kolega Charles Cholmondeley (Matthew Macfadyen ), uz pomoć još jednog časnika Obavještajne služba pomorskih snaga, nikog drugog doli tvorca agenta 007 Iana Fleminga (Johnny Flynn ), te osobne tajnice Hester Leggett (Penelope Wilton ) i službenice MI5 Jean Leslie (Kelly Macdonald ), vodili su titularnu ratnu operaciju.
Cilj operacije bio je da zavaraju nacističku Njemačku na čelu s Hitlerom da saveznici planiraju izvršiti invaziju na Grčku kako bi ih ustvari napali na Siciliji i preokrenuli tijek rata nakon što Nijemci povuku trupe odatle. Ratna operacija, strogo povjerljiva i odobrena na najvišoj razini, od admirala Johna Godfreyja (Jason Isaac ), prvotno se zvala "trojanski konj" da bi je preimenovali u "nešto manje očito", a počivala je, dakle, na obmani, "najvažnijem oružju u ratu".

Fingirani napad na Grčku prekriva stvarni napad na Siciliju. "Hitleru ćemo prirediti ponižavajuću spačku", najavljuje Montagu. Spačka se očituje u doista ludoj ideji za nepostojeću invaziju: Montagu i Cholmondeley pretvaraju mrtvaca, beskućnika Glyndwra Michaela , u fiktivnog bojnika Williama Martina kojeg će odjenuti u vojnu odoru i ubaciti u more blizu španjolske obale s dokumentima na temu napada na Grčku kako bi isti preko Španjolaca došli u ruke Nijemcima.
Sudbina svijeta je "na kocki", a taj svijet "ovisi o lešu", ističe netko ironiju. Naravno, mnogo toga se treba poklopiti da sve izgleda uvjerljivo, a priprema njihova plana na trenutke djeluje kao da je pristigla iz "heist" filma, s čime "Operation Mincemeat" koketira, uključujući i (crni) humor. Za početak, da lik kapetana Martina bude uvjerljiv, oni mrtvacu stvaraju lažni život, kreiraju njegov identitet, njegovu prošlost, tko je bio, koga je ljubio, pri čemu i sami (u sebi) počinju razmišljati o životima koje nisu živjeli.
Kad Montagu i ekipa udahnu Michaelu život kakav ovaj nije imao, film se bitno uzdiže iznad žanrovskog prosjeka i oduševljava humanošću, primjerice u čudesno emotivnoj sceni čitanja ljubavnog pisma djevojci koju napušta, sa suptilno podcrtanim emocijama u glazbi nesuđenog oskarovca Thomasa Newmana ("1917 "), nominiranog za zlatni kipić čak 15 puta.
Pismo je napisala Hester, a u njezinim riječima se prepoznaju svi akteri, poglavito Montagu i Jean. Oni se zbližavaju unatoč tome što je on oženjen (poslao je židovsku ženu i djecu u Ameriku), a ona udovica, ali njihova veza je u startu komplicirana i komplicira njegov odnos s Cholmondeleyjem kojemu se službenica također sviđa i zato pristaje špijunirati kolegu iza leđa pod sumnjom da je njegov brat Ivor (Mark Gatiss ), simpatizer komunizma, potencijalni ruski špijun.

Također, situacija s mrtvacem pojačava strah od smrti kod već ionako usamljenih, tužnih aktera. Emotivno snažna scena rađa se i u trenutku kad Michaelova sestra Doris (Gabrielle Creevy ) dođe po bratovo tijelo kako bi ga pokopala, da bi shvatila kako je on već neophodno žrtvovan za "viši cilj", odnosno angažiran da izvrši operaciju, iako je mrtav i nesvjestan herojske uloge koju će odigrati u povijesti i za povijest.
Egzistencijalizam je usađen u film, najviše u rečenici "jedan čovjek umire, drugi nastavlja putovanje", koja zrcali suštinu "Operacije Mincemeat". Jednako tako, Madden čitavo vrijeme uspijeva načiniti "Operation Mincemeat" uzbudljivim, iako je enkripcija jedina akcija: obavještajni podaci koji su su "kao lov na pastrve", informacije i dezinformacije, šifriranja i dešifriranja pokreću akcijnost filma o "ratu sjenki" u kojem se najviše koriste oči, uši i riječi, a ne mišići, meci i bombe. No, od informacije do akcije nije dalek put i prevalit će ga poznati špijun iz Flemingova pera James Bond . Fleming svako malo tipka naraciju filma na pisaćoj mašini, možda i neki od njegovih budućih 007 romana.

O ovoj operaciji već je snimljen jedan film. "The Man Who Never Was" Ronalda Neamea iz 1956. sa Cliftonom Webbom i Glorijom Grahame u glavnim ulogama, koji je bio adaptacija Montaguova memoara. Zanimljivo je da se Firth i MacFadyen prešutno natječu oko jedne žene; obojica su glumili gospodina Darcyja. Fanovima Bond-filmova bit će zanimljivo čuti kad netko spomene "Q" ogranak.
