Zanemarujući prethodna četiri nastavka, sedmi dio iz serijala o Michaelu Myersu i Laurie Strode, "Noć vještica: 20 godina kasnije" ("Halloween H20: 20 Years Later", 1998.), nastavlja se direktno na prvi i drugi film, radeći ono što je u novom mileniju postalo normativ kod resetiranja franšiza.

U slučaju ovog serijala, ignoriranje prethodnika, snimljenih u rasponu od sredine osamdesetih do polovice devedesetih, imalo je smisla. "Halloween III: Season Of The Witch", "Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers", "Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers" i "Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers" bili su mahom osrednji ili slabašni filmovi, ni blizu "Noći vještica II", kamoli izvorne "Noći vještica" Johna Carpentera iz 1978. godine koja je definirala slasher horor.

Nastavci su većinski imali Myersa (osim trećeg), ali ne i Laurie (nekreditirana glasovna uloga u "Sezoni vještica"). Što je Michael bez sestre Laurie u tumačenju kraljice vriska Jamie Lee Curtis ("Magla")? Ništa, zato je studio Miramax odlučio vratiti Laurie skupa s Myersom u vrijeme kad je naizgled mrtvi Freddy Kruger iz "Strave u Ulici brijestova" odvukao Jasona Voorheesa u pakao na kraju devetog "Petka 13.".

Tajming za novi "Halloween" bio je povoljan. "Vrisak", "Znam što si radila prošlog ljeta" i "Vrisak 2" uskrsnuli su slasherske horore i Miramax je htio kapitalizirati na valu njihove popularnosti dok se "Friday The 13th" i "Nightmare On Elm Street" nalaze u fazi mirovanja. Scenarist "Screama" i "I Know What You Did Last Summer" Kevin Williamson producirao je "Noć vještica: 20 godina kasnije".

Vjerojatno se zato u jednoj sceni na TV-u ukaže "Vrisak 2", ali i ukazanje je i svojevrsno odavanje počasti filmu koji je oživio slashere. Počast je štafetna: metafilmski "Scream" višestruko se referirao na (prvi) "Halloween", da bi potom "H20" ubacio referenciju na "Vrisak 2".

Naravno, najveća polazna referencija za "Noć vještica: 20 godina kasnije" je Carpenterov izvornik i solidan nastavak Ricka Rosenthala kojeg je ovaj "Halloween" dostojan, ako već nije i ravan originalu. "H20" nastoji graditi "carpenterovsku" sporogoreću atmosferu jeze i terora (subjektivni kadrovi), u čemu dobrim dijelom i uspijeva, te izgraditi likove.

Michael je, jasno, uvijek isti kao "that Halloween guy", skriven iza maske, tih i neuništiv, otporan na udarce, padove, ubode i metke dok kuhinjskim nožem ubada i sječe sve oko sebe krećući se polako, s noge na nogu. Živ je i zdrav nakon svih ovih godina, iako ga je Laurie "gledala kako gori" (na kraju "Halloween II").

No, Larie je drukčija: 20 godina kasnije ona je traumatizirana zbog događaja od 31. listopada 1978. u dvama prethodnicima, lažirala je smrt, promijenila ime (Keri Tate) i mjesto boravka (mali kalifornijski grad Summer Glen umjesto Haddonfielda, gdje radi kao ravnateljica privatne škole).

Iako ima sina Johna (glumački debi Josha Hartnetta) i partnera Willa (Adam Arkin), Laurie ne može pobjeći od košmarne prošlosti. "Pokušala sam sve, grupnu terapiju, meditaciju...", ispovijeda se Laurie koja živi s traumom 20 godina i moli se svake godine da je ludi brat ne nađe. Ona redovno sanja Michaela i on joj se priviđa na javi.

U jednoj od boljih scena Laurie vidi Myersa kako nastavlja kročiti prema njoj kroz mrak iz sjene i kad zažmuri misleći da samo sanja, da bi je na kraju, na granici sna i jave, prenuo Will. Dakako, Myers će naći Laurie, i to baš na Noć vještica, u godini kad njezin sin slavi 17. rođendan, koliko je ona imala 1978., što je prilika da se konačno suoči s njime i osveti za sve traume.

Ovakav kut priče bio je intrigantan 20 godina prije "Noći vještica" iz 2018. i osvježio je standardne "halloweenovske" hororske trope (automobili koji se ne pale). Unatoč tome što je "Scream" parodirao takve stvari, "H20" se drži konvencija, ali redatelj Steve Miner povremeno izvrne očekivanja (scena s otvaračem za boce u odvodu), sretan što je pojava "Vriska" omogućila da može nešto tako napraviti u "Halloweenu" kad već nije mogao snimajući drugi i treći "Petak 13.".

"Noć vještica: 20 godina kasnije" izvodi interesantno premrežavanje unutar horora, od "Screama" do "Halloweena" i "Friday The 13th". Vrhunac tog premreživanja dolazi u vidu pojave Janet Leigh, majke Jamie Lee koja je u "Psihu", Hitchcockovoj preteči slasher horora, utjelovila Marion Crane. Janet glumi Laurienu tajnicu po imenu Norma (Norman Bates) i sjeda u Ford Sedan, isti automobil kakav je nekoć vozila, odlazeći na put s potencijalnim uključenim noćenjem u "Bates Motelu".

Zanemarujući prethodna četiri nastavka, sedmi dio iz serijala o Michaelu Myersu i Laurie Strode, "Noć vještica: 20 godina kasnije" ("Halloween H20: 20 Years Later", 1998.), nastavlja se direktno na prvi i drugi film, radeći ono što je u novom mileniju postalo normativ kod resetiranja franšiza.

U slučaju ovog serijala, ignoriranje prethodnika, snimljenih u rasponu od sredine osamdesetih do polovice devedesetih, imalo je smisla. "Halloween III: Season Of The Witch", "Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers", "Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers" i "Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers" bili su mahom osrednji ili slabašni filmovi, ni blizu "Noći vještica II", kamoli izvorne "Noći vještica" Johna Carpentera iz 1978. godine koja je definirala slasher horor.

Nastavci su većinski imali Myersa (osim trećeg), ali ne i Laurie (nekreditirana glasovna uloga u "Sezoni vještica"). Što je Michael bez sestre Laurie u tumačenju kraljice vriska Jamie Lee Curtis ("Magla")? Ništa, zato je studio Miramax odlučio vratiti Laurie skupa s Myersom u vrijeme kad je naizgled mrtvi Freddy Kruger iz "Strave u Ulici brijestova" odvukao Jasona Voorheesa u pakao na kraju devetog "Petka 13.".

Tajming za novi "Halloween" bio je povoljan. "Vrisak", "Znam što si radila prošlog ljeta" i "Vrisak 2" uskrsnuli su slasherske horore i Miramax je htio kapitalizirati na valu njihove popularnosti dok se "Friday The 13th" i "Nightmare On Elm Street" nalaze u fazi mirovanja. Scenarist "Screama" i "I Know What You Did Last Summer" Kevin Williamson producirao je "Noć vještica: 20 godina kasnije".

Vjerojatno se zato u jednoj sceni na TV-u ukaže "Vrisak 2", ali i ukazanje je i svojevrsno odavanje počasti filmu koji je oživio slashere. Počast je štafetna: metafilmski "Scream" višestruko se referirao na (prvi) "Halloween", da bi potom "H20" ubacio referenciju na "Vrisak 2".

Naravno, najveća polazna referencija za "Noć vještica: 20 godina kasnije" je Carpenterov izvornik i solidan nastavak Ricka Rosenthala kojeg je ovaj "Halloween" dostojan, ako već nije i ravan originalu. "H20" nastoji graditi "carpenterovsku" sporogoreću atmosferu jeze i terora (subjektivni kadrovi), u čemu dobrim dijelom i uspijeva, te izgraditi likove.

Michael je, jasno, uvijek isti kao "that Halloween guy", skriven iza maske, tih i neuništiv, otporan na udarce, padove, ubode i metke dok kuhinjskim nožem ubada i sječe sve oko sebe krećući se polako, s noge na nogu. Živ je i zdrav nakon svih ovih godina, iako ga je Laurie "gledala kako gori" (na kraju "Halloween II").

No, Larie je drukčija: 20 godina kasnije ona je traumatizirana zbog događaja od 31. listopada 1978. u dvama prethodnicima, lažirala je smrt, promijenila ime (Keri Tate) i mjesto boravka (mali kalifornijski grad Summer Glen umjesto Haddonfielda, gdje radi kao ravnateljica privatne škole).

Iako ima sina Johna (glumački debi Josha Hartnetta) i partnera Willa (Adam Arkin), Laurie ne može pobjeći od košmarne prošlosti. "Pokušala sam sve, grupnu terapiju, meditaciju...", ispovijeda se Laurie koja živi s traumom 20 godina i moli se svake godine da je ludi brat ne nađe. Ona redovno sanja Michaela i on joj se priviđa na javi.

U jednoj od boljih scena Laurie vidi Myersa kako nastavlja kročiti prema njoj kroz mrak iz sjene i kad zažmuri misleći da samo sanja, da bi je na kraju, na granici sna i jave, prenuo Will. Dakako, Myers će naći Laurie, i to baš na Noć vještica, u godini kad njezin sin slavi 17. rođendan, koliko je ona imala 1978., što je prilika da se konačno suoči s njime i osveti za sve traume.

Ovakav kut priče bio je intrigantan 20 godina prije "Noći vještica" iz 2018. i osvježio je standardne "halloweenovske" hororske trope (automobili koji se ne pale). Unatoč tome što je "Scream" parodirao takve stvari, "H20" se drži konvencija, ali redatelj Steve Miner povremeno izvrne očekivanja (scena s otvaračem za boce u odvodu), sretan što je pojava "Vriska" omogućila da može nešto tako napraviti u "Halloweenu" kad već nije mogao snimajući drugi i treći "Petak 13.".

"Noć vještica: 20 godina kasnije" izvodi interesantno premrežavanje unutar horora, od "Screama" do "Halloweena" i "Friday The 13th". Vrhunac tog premreživanja dolazi u vidu pojave Janet Leigh, majke Jamie Lee koja je u "Psihu", Hitchcockovoj preteči slasher horora, utjelovila Marion Crane. Janet glumi Laurienu tajnicu po imenu Norma (Norman Bates) i sjeda u Ford Sedan, isti automobil kakav je nekoć vozila, odlazeći na put s potencijalnim uključenim noćenjem u "Bates Motelu".

Što je Michael bez sestre Laurie u tumačenju kraljice vriska Jamie Lee Curtis ("Magla")? Ništa, zato je studio Miramax odlučio vratiti Laurie skupa s Myersom u vrijeme kad je naizgled mrtvi Freddy Kruger iz "Strave u Ulici brijestova" odvukao Jasona Voorheesa u pakao na kraju devetog "Petka 13.".

Tajming za novi "Halloween" bio je povoljan. "Vrisak", "Znam što si radila prošlog ljeta" i "Vrisak 2" uskrsnuli su slasherske horore i Miramax je htio kapitalizirati na valu njihove popularnosti dok se "Friday The 13th" i "Nightmare On Elm Street" nalaze u fazi mirovanja. Scenarist "Screama" i "I Know What You Did Last Summer" Kevin Williamson producirao je "Noć vještica: 20 godina kasnije".

Vjerojatno se zato u jednoj sceni na TV-u ukaže "Vrisak 2", ali i ukazanje je i svojevrsno odavanje počasti filmu koji je oživio slashere. Počast je štafetna: metafilmski "Scream" višestruko se referirao na (prvi) "Halloween", da bi potom "H20" ubacio referenciju na "Vrisak 2".

Naravno, najveća polazna referencija za "Noć vještica: 20 godina kasnije" je Carpenterov izvornik i solidan nastavak Ricka Rosenthala kojeg je ovaj "Halloween" dostojan, ako već nije i ravan originalu. "H20" nastoji graditi "carpenterovsku" sporogoreću atmosferu jeze i terora (subjektivni kadrovi), u čemu dobrim dijelom i uspijeva, te izgraditi likove.

Michael je, jasno, uvijek isti kao "that Halloween guy", skriven iza maske, tih i neuništiv, otporan na udarce, padove, ubode i metke dok kuhinjskim nožem ubada i sječe sve oko sebe krećući se polako, s noge na nogu. Živ je i zdrav nakon svih ovih godina, iako ga je Laurie "gledala kako gori" (na kraju "Halloween II").

No, Larie je drukčija: 20 godina kasnije ona je traumatizirana zbog događaja od 31. listopada 1978. u dvama prethodnicima, lažirala je smrt, promijenila ime (Keri Tate) i mjesto boravka (mali kalifornijski grad Summer Glen umjesto Haddonfielda, gdje radi kao ravnateljica privatne škole).

Iako ima sina Johna (glumački debi Josha Hartnetta) i partnera Willa (Adam Arkin), Laurie ne može pobjeći od košmarne prošlosti. "Pokušala sam sve, grupnu terapiju, meditaciju...", ispovijeda se Laurie koja živi s traumom 20 godina i moli se svake godine da je ludi brat ne nađe. Ona redovno sanja Michaela i on joj se priviđa na javi.

U jednoj od boljih scena Laurie vidi Myersa kako nastavlja kročiti prema njoj kroz mrak iz sjene i kad zažmuri misleći da samo sanja, da bi je na kraju, na granici sna i jave, prenuo Will. Dakako, Myers će naći Laurie, i to baš na Noć vještica, u godini kad njezin sin slavi 17. rođendan, koliko je ona imala 1978., što je prilika da se konačno suoči s njime i osveti za sve traume.

Ovakav kut priče bio je intrigantan 20 godina prije "Noći vještica" iz 2018. i osvježio je standardne "halloweenovske" hororske trope (automobili koji se ne pale). Unatoč tome što je "Scream" parodirao takve stvari, "H20" se drži konvencija, ali redatelj Steve Miner povremeno izvrne očekivanja (scena s otvaračem za boce u odvodu), sretan što je pojava "Vriska" omogućila da može nešto tako napraviti u "Halloweenu" kad već nije mogao snimajući drugi i treći "Petak 13.".

"Noć vještica: 20 godina kasnije" izvodi interesantno premrežavanje unutar horora, od "Screama" do "Halloweena" i "Friday The 13th". Vrhunac tog premreživanja dolazi u vidu pojave Janet Leigh, majke Jamie Lee koja je u "Psihu", Hitchcockovoj preteči slasher horora, utjelovila Marion Crane. Janet glumi Laurienu tajnicu po imenu Norma (Norman Bates) i sjeda u Ford Sedan, isti automobil kakav je nekoć vozila, odlazeći na put s potencijalnim uključenim noćenjem u "Bates Motelu".
