Sve što je dobro jednom mora završiti. Serija “Nasljeđe” ili “Succession” (2018. - 2023.) u produkciji HBO-a blago je rečeno dobra, štoviše jedna od najboljih, a upravo je došla do svoje posljednje epizode. Unatrag par dana emitirana je deseta epizoda četvrte i zadnje sezone “Nasljeđa”.

Komedija i tragedija

Producent i kreator Jesse Armstrong najavljuje da je to doista to i da se “Succession” neće nastaviti. Nema više. Gotovo. Koliko god se teško oprostiti od obitelji Roy, na čelu s nezaboravnim likom Loganom (izvanredni Brian Cox), možda je tako i bolje. Kaže se kako je lijepo da netko zna kada treba stati dok je u prednosti.

Tko zna bi li peta ili neka daljnja sezona “Nasljeđa” zadržala visoku kvalitetu prethodne četiri. Sjetimo se, primjerice, izvrsne “Igre prijestolja” koja se dogurala do prilično neslavne osme sezone. Ovako, “Succession” odlazi u povijest kao kvalitetno naujednačenija prestižno-dramska serija 2010-ih uz “Breaking Bad”, vjerojatno i novog milenija, ako ne i šire, nadmašivši teškaše kao što su “Ozark”, “Pravi detektiv”, “Kruna”...

Svaka nova sezona “Nasljeđa” je bila odlična, jednako dobra ili čak i bolja od prethodne, tako i četvrta. “Succession” je dobio finale kakvo zaslužuje i “season 4” se nadovezuje na prethodne sezone miješajući britku crnohumornu korporativnu satiru i šekspirijansku (obiteljsku) tragediju od “Kralja Leara” do “Hamleta”.

Obitelj je, dakle, Roy, predvođena Loganom kao patrijarhom i vlasnikom medijskog konglomerata “Waystar Royco” te njegovom djecom – sinovima Kendallom (Jeremy Strong), Romanom (Kieran Culkin) i Connorom (Alan Ruck), te kćerkom Shiv (Sarah Snook).

Marš carskih pingvina

Loganova djeca svako malo mijenjaju strane, stvaraju i razbijaju saveze, bave se izdajama i zabijaju jedni drugima noževe u leđa u nadmetanju s ocem koji za suradnike ima Shivina supruga Toma (Matthew Macfadyen) i Grega (Nicholas Braun). Serija se mogla nastaviti slijedeći tu formulu unedogled i mnogima ne bi bilo mrsko gledati verbalne i ine dvoboje Royevih.

Sve dok kreator Armstrong i njegovi glumci pronalaze tenziju u komediji i obratno, odnosno svježinu u pristupu igrama korporativnog prijestolja i sočnim dijalozima kojih ni ovaj put ne nedostaje (“Povući ću se u sobu i agresivno drkati”, “Neka udarni termin bude više u stilu ‘Paklene naranče’...”, “Otpjevaj ‘New York, New York’ i odjebi”, “Evo marša carskih pingvina”).

Međutim, kako je četvrta sezona posljednja, osjećaj konačnosti nasljeđa Royevih (očeva imperija) i poniranja u nepovratnu autodestrukciju nadvija se nad epizodama, tj. glavama likova, dramski ulozi su nikad veći, a bol od izdajničkih noževa u leđima boli jače nego ikad prije tijekom borbe za očev tron budući da svatko od djece želi biti novi Logan.

Likove ove serije gledatelji vole mrziti, jer oni su mahom loši ljudi koji rade loše stvari. Međutim, svaka iduća sezona “Nasljeđa” uspjela je načiniti da gledatelj simpatizira s likovima. Sezona broj četiri u tom smislu radi najviše posebice kad u trećoj epizodi “Connorovo vjenčanje” umre “tvrdi stari orah” Logan, uspoređen i s morskim psom iz “Ralja”.

Vijesti na nebu

”Volim te, ti jebeni...”, izusti kroz suze Shiv koja u ovoj sezoni ima najsnažniju povezanost s Kendallom i Romanom. I bogati plaču, zar ne? Dok netko govori kako će Logan “sigurno će uskoro upravljati vijestima na nebu”, postaje jasno da je njegove velike cipele teško popuniti. “Succession” tu postaje “metafilmski”. Teško da će neka serija popuniti velike cipele “Nasljeđa” i dostojno ga naslijediti.

Sve što je dobro jednom mora završiti. Serija “Nasljeđe” ili “Succession” (2018. - 2023.) u produkciji HBO-a blago je rečeno dobra, štoviše jedna od najboljih, a upravo je došla do svoje posljednje epizode. Unatrag par dana emitirana je deseta epizoda četvrte i zadnje sezone “Nasljeđa”.

Komedija i tragedija

Producent i kreator Jesse Armstrong najavljuje da je to doista to i da se “Succession” neće nastaviti. Nema više. Gotovo. Koliko god se teško oprostiti od obitelji Roy, na čelu s nezaboravnim likom Loganom (izvanredni Brian Cox), možda je tako i bolje. Kaže se kako je lijepo da netko zna kada treba stati dok je u prednosti.

Tko zna bi li peta ili neka daljnja sezona “Nasljeđa” zadržala visoku kvalitetu prethodne četiri. Sjetimo se, primjerice, izvrsne “Igre prijestolja” koja se dogurala do prilično neslavne osme sezone. Ovako, “Succession” odlazi u povijest kao kvalitetno naujednačenija prestižno-dramska serija 2010-ih uz “Breaking Bad”, vjerojatno i novog milenija, ako ne i šire, nadmašivši teškaše kao što su “Ozark”, “Pravi detektiv”, “Kruna”...

Svaka nova sezona “Nasljeđa” je bila odlična, jednako dobra ili čak i bolja od prethodne, tako i četvrta. “Succession” je dobio finale kakvo zaslužuje i “season 4” se nadovezuje na prethodne sezone miješajući britku crnohumornu korporativnu satiru i šekspirijansku (obiteljsku) tragediju od “Kralja Leara” do “Hamleta”.

Obitelj je, dakle, Roy, predvođena Loganom kao patrijarhom i vlasnikom medijskog konglomerata “Waystar Royco” te njegovom djecom – sinovima Kendallom (Jeremy Strong), Romanom (Kieran Culkin) i Connorom (Alan Ruck), te kćerkom Shiv (Sarah Snook).

Marš carskih pingvina

Loganova djeca svako malo mijenjaju strane, stvaraju i razbijaju saveze, bave se izdajama i zabijaju jedni drugima noževe u leđa u nadmetanju s ocem koji za suradnike ima Shivina supruga Toma (Matthew Macfadyen) i Grega (Nicholas Braun). Serija se mogla nastaviti slijedeći tu formulu unedogled i mnogima ne bi bilo mrsko gledati verbalne i ine dvoboje Royevih.

Sve dok kreator Armstrong i njegovi glumci pronalaze tenziju u komediji i obratno, odnosno svježinu u pristupu igrama korporativnog prijestolja i sočnim dijalozima kojih ni ovaj put ne nedostaje (“Povući ću se u sobu i agresivno drkati”, “Neka udarni termin bude više u stilu ‘Paklene naranče’...”, “Otpjevaj ‘New York, New York’ i odjebi”, “Evo marša carskih pingvina”).

Međutim, kako je četvrta sezona posljednja, osjećaj konačnosti nasljeđa Royevih (očeva imperija) i poniranja u nepovratnu autodestrukciju nadvija se nad epizodama, tj. glavama likova, dramski ulozi su nikad veći, a bol od izdajničkih noževa u leđima boli jače nego ikad prije tijekom borbe za očev tron budući da svatko od djece želi biti novi Logan.

Likove ove serije gledatelji vole mrziti, jer oni su mahom loši ljudi koji rade loše stvari. Međutim, svaka iduća sezona “Nasljeđa” uspjela je načiniti da gledatelj simpatizira s likovima. Sezona broj četiri u tom smislu radi najviše posebice kad u trećoj epizodi “Connorovo vjenčanje” umre “tvrdi stari orah” Logan, uspoređen i s morskim psom iz “Ralja”.

Vijesti na nebu

”Volim te, ti jebeni...”, izusti kroz suze Shiv koja u ovoj sezoni ima najsnažniju povezanost s Kendallom i Romanom. I bogati plaču, zar ne? Dok netko govori kako će Logan “sigurno će uskoro upravljati vijestima na nebu”, postaje jasno da je njegove velike cipele teško popuniti. “Succession” tu postaje “metafilmski”. Teško da će neka serija popuniti velike cipele “Nasljeđa” i dostojno ga naslijediti.
