Netflix ide dalje s glazbenim dokumentarnim filmovima. Nakon "Whama" i "Robbieja Williamsa", na streaming je upravo stigao i dokumentarac "Najveća noć popa" ("The Greatest Night In Pop"), koji je friško imao svjetsku premijeru na Sundance Film Festivalu.

"Najveća noć popa" podsjeća na povijesni događaj u svijetu glazbe, tj. stvaranje i snimanje legendarnog hit-singla "We Are The World" iz 1985. godine za pomoć gladnima u Africi, točnije Etiopiji. Videospota se zasigurno sjećate, ali znate li sve o nastanku pjesme koja je prikupila milijune dolara za plemeniti cilj?

Priča je krenula od uspjeha "Live Aida" u Velikoj Britaniji 1984. i čuveni američki producent Quincy Jones htio je ponoviti u SAD-u ono što je napravio Bob Geldof kad je okupio velike pop-zvijezde za singl "Do They Know It‘s Christmas?".

Jones je na kraju uspio u studio pred mikrofon dovesti i "nagurati" zvijezdu do zvijezde, "all star" ekipu. Sjetimo se Michaela Jacksona i Lionela Richieja (koautori pjesme), Brucea Springsteena, Boba Dylana, Stevieja Wondera, Raya Charlesa, Willieja Nelsona, Kennyja Rogersa, Paula Simona, Cyndi Lauper, Diane Ross, Kennyja Logginsa, Stevea Perryja (Journey), Halla & Oatesa, Hueyja Lewisa, Smokeyja Robinsona...

Takoreći je svaka pop-ikona prve polovine osamdesetih zapjevala "We Are The World" osim Madonne i Princea, čak i glumac Dan Aykroyd, zvijezda kinohitova "Kolo sreće" i "Istjerivači duhova". Dakle, jedan mikrofon, mnoštvo zvijezda, jedna noć. Naravno, raspored zvijezda bilo je teško uskladiti, kao i njihova ega, ali spletom sretnih okolnosti svi su dolazili na dodjelu nagrada American Music Awards u Los Angelesu 28. siječnja 1985. i odazvali se noćnom snimanju.

Imali su samo tu jednu noć, ali sve je na kraju ispalo okej, unatoč nekim preliminarnim nesuglasicama oko stihova, sudarima snažnih osobnosti itd. Solidan dokumentarac, među ostalim, otkriva kako je Lauper zamalo odustala od snimanja u "5 do 12", koliko je Dylan bio sramežljiv dok ga Wonder nije malčice "opustio" i kako je Robinson hrabro sugerirao nedodirljivom Jacksonu da izbaci jedan loš stih.

Neki od sudionika pojavljuju se pred kamerama u "talking heads" intervjuima (Springsteen, Lauper, Loggins, Lewis...), a najveću minutažu ima Richie, koji je i producent dokumentarca, otkrivajući kako je bilo surađivati na pjesmi s "kraljem popa" i boraviti u njegovoj kući.

Standardni "talking heads" intervjui isprepleću se s arhivskim snimkama koje su pravo blago za gledatelje, osobito fanove sudionika i onog vremena. "The Greatest Night In Pop" nostalgičan je dokumentarac za ljubitelje glazbe(nika) osamdesetih koji će pjevušiti "We Are The World" nakon odjavne špice, ali i dobar podsjetnik na plemenitu, humanu i humanitarnu narav pjesme i snagu jedinstva ljudi koji su snažniji kad se okupe za viši cilj.

Nešto slično snimanju ove pjesme nije se dogodilo u posljednje vrijeme i dvojbeno je bi li se više uopće i moglo dogoditi danas u razjedinjenom svijetu. Ako okupljanje glazbenika za pjesmu "We Are The World" možda i nije "najveća noć popa" u povijesti, zasigurno je bila neponovljiva.

Zanimljivo bi bilo čuti i Princeovu stranu priče zašto nije sudjelovao na stvaranju pjesme.

Netflix ide dalje s glazbenim dokumentarnim filmovima. Nakon "Whama" i "Robbieja Williamsa", na streaming je upravo stigao i dokumentarac "Najveća noć popa" ("The Greatest Night In Pop"), koji je friško imao svjetsku premijeru na Sundance Film Festivalu.

"Najveća noć popa" podsjeća na povijesni događaj u svijetu glazbe, tj. stvaranje i snimanje legendarnog hit-singla "We Are The World" iz 1985. godine za pomoć gladnima u Africi, točnije Etiopiji. Videospota se zasigurno sjećate, ali znate li sve o nastanku pjesme koja je prikupila milijune dolara za plemeniti cilj?

Priča je krenula od uspjeha "Live Aida" u Velikoj Britaniji 1984. i čuveni američki producent Quincy Jones htio je ponoviti u SAD-u ono što je napravio Bob Geldof kad je okupio velike pop-zvijezde za singl "Do They Know It‘s Christmas?".

Jones je na kraju uspio u studio pred mikrofon dovesti i "nagurati" zvijezdu do zvijezde, "all star" ekipu. Sjetimo se Michaela Jacksona i Lionela Richieja (koautori pjesme), Brucea Springsteena, Boba Dylana, Stevieja Wondera, Raya Charlesa, Willieja Nelsona, Kennyja Rogersa, Paula Simona, Cyndi Lauper, Diane Ross, Kennyja Logginsa, Stevea Perryja (Journey), Halla & Oatesa, Hueyja Lewisa, Smokeyja Robinsona...

Takoreći je svaka pop-ikona prve polovine osamdesetih zapjevala "We Are The World" osim Madonne i Princea, čak i glumac Dan Aykroyd, zvijezda kinohitova "Kolo sreće" i "Istjerivači duhova". Dakle, jedan mikrofon, mnoštvo zvijezda, jedna noć. Naravno, raspored zvijezda bilo je teško uskladiti, kao i njihova ega, ali spletom sretnih okolnosti svi su dolazili na dodjelu nagrada American Music Awards u Los Angelesu 28. siječnja 1985. i odazvali se noćnom snimanju.

Imali su samo tu jednu noć, ali sve je na kraju ispalo okej, unatoč nekim preliminarnim nesuglasicama oko stihova, sudarima snažnih osobnosti itd. Solidan dokumentarac, među ostalim, otkriva kako je Lauper zamalo odustala od snimanja u "5 do 12", koliko je Dylan bio sramežljiv dok ga Wonder nije malčice "opustio" i kako je Robinson hrabro sugerirao nedodirljivom Jacksonu da izbaci jedan loš stih.

Neki od sudionika pojavljuju se pred kamerama u "talking heads" intervjuima (Springsteen, Lauper, Loggins, Lewis...), a najveću minutažu ima Richie, koji je i producent dokumentarca, otkrivajući kako je bilo surađivati na pjesmi s "kraljem popa" i boraviti u njegovoj kući.

Standardni "talking heads" intervjui isprepleću se s arhivskim snimkama koje su pravo blago za gledatelje, osobito fanove sudionika i onog vremena. "The Greatest Night In Pop" nostalgičan je dokumentarac za ljubitelje glazbe(nika) osamdesetih koji će pjevušiti "We Are The World" nakon odjavne špice, ali i dobar podsjetnik na plemenitu, humanu i humanitarnu narav pjesme i snagu jedinstva ljudi koji su snažniji kad se okupe za viši cilj.

Nešto slično snimanju ove pjesme nije se dogodilo u posljednje vrijeme i dvojbeno je bi li se više uopće i moglo dogoditi danas u razjedinjenom svijetu. Ako okupljanje glazbenika za pjesmu "We Are The World" možda i nije "najveća noć popa" u povijesti, zasigurno je bila neponovljiva.

Zanimljivo bi bilo čuti i Princeovu stranu priče zašto nije sudjelovao na stvaranju pjesme.
