Ma Dong-seok je službeno postao južnokorejska akcijska zvijezda zahvaljujući pamtljivom nastupu u apokaliptičnoj zombijevskoj akciji "Vlak za Busan". Sigurno ga se sjećate kako je zdušno devetao zombije i ušao u legendu kao rijetka korpulentnija akcijska zvijezda, slijedeći tragove koje su posijali Bud Spencer i Sammo Hung.

Otad je Dong-seok snimio tucet akcijskih filmova ove ili one podvrste (npr. "The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil"), okušao se i kao Sylvester Stallone u sportskoj drami o obaranju ruku ("Champion"), a pojavio se i u Marvelovom blockbsteru "Vječnici". Trajnu pozivnicu za Hollywood još nije dobio, ali zato nastavlja s akcijašenjem u matičnoj Južnoj Koreji.

Najnoviji glumčev film jest Netflixova futuristička akcija "Lovci u pustoši" ("Hwang-ya"/"Badland Hunters"). Koliku akcijsku povijest ima Dong-seok, sugerira predstavljanje njegova lika, lovca Nam Sama. Lik se spominje kao "onaj" Nam Sam, netko za koga su svi čuli.

Redatelj-debitant Heo Myung-haeng podiže spomenik glumcu s kojim je kao koordinator kaskadera surađivao na "Train To Busan". Zanimljivo je da "Lovce u pustoši" producentski potpisuju producenti ovogodišnjeg južnokorejskog predstavnika u utrci za Oscara, "disaster" filma "Betonska utopija" o preživjelima iz potresa koji je razorio Seul.

"Concrete Utopia" nije došao blizu Oscara, a "Badland Hunters" još su dalje od pojma oskarovskog filma kao južnokorejska verzija "Mad Maxa 2" koja podsjeća na kopije kultne futurističke akcije Georgea Millera kakvih je u osamdesetima bilo na bacanje. Ipak, potres je poveznica između "Lovaca u pustoši" i "Betonske utopije".

Radnja se odvija u Seulu u bliskoj budućnosti nakon što je potres u potpunosti razorio grad i ostatak zemlje, pretvorivši okoliš u postapokaliptičnu pustopoljinu, sve lišeniju hrane i vode, ali ne i lutajućih bandi. Nam Sam je predstavljen kao lovac koji će spasiti mladog pomoćnika Ji-wan (Lee Jun-young) od razjarenog krokodila i skratiti gmaza za glavu.

Scena uspostavlja ton filma prepunog nasilja, a zaplet starta nakon što Nam Samova surogat-kćerku (Roh Jeong-eui) otetmu sljedbenici pomahnitalog liječnika dr. Yanga (Lee Hae-jun) koji smatra da njegov rad može spasiti čovječanstvo, premda daje dovoljno razloga da se u tom posumnja.

Elementi nekakve alegorije potisnuti u drugi plan nauštrb akcije za razliku od, primjerice, prošlogodinjeg južnokorejskog futurističkog akcijskog trilera "Jung-E". Akcijske scene najvrjednija su stavka gledljivog i zaboravljivog filma uz glavnog glumca. Myung-haeng na momente pokazuje da je naučio nešto od redatelja "Vlaka za Busan" Sang-ho Yeona i počesto pregledno koreografira akcijska zbivanja.

Može li se Myung-haeng iz prikrajka nametnuti kao još jedan potencijalni budući akcijski filmaš dospio iz svijeta kaskaderstva poput Chada Stahelskog ("John Wick"), Davida Leitcha ("Atomska plavuša") i Sama Hargravea ("Cijena spasa")? Možda i može. No, da ostvari potencijale trebat će mu originalniji, manje formulaični film od ovoga. Usporedbe radi, "Badland Hunters" je po dometima bliži slabijem nastavku "Train To Busan" nego sjajnom originalu.

Ma Dong-seok je službeno postao južnokorejska akcijska zvijezda zahvaljujući pamtljivom nastupu u apokaliptičnoj zombijevskoj akciji "Vlak za Busan". Sigurno ga se sjećate kako je zdušno devetao zombije i ušao u legendu kao rijetka korpulentnija akcijska zvijezda, slijedeći tragove koje su posijali Bud Spencer i Sammo Hung.

Otad je Dong-seok snimio tucet akcijskih filmova ove ili one podvrste (npr. "The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil"), okušao se i kao Sylvester Stallone u sportskoj drami o obaranju ruku ("Champion"), a pojavio se i u Marvelovom blockbsteru "Vječnici". Trajnu pozivnicu za Hollywood još nije dobio, ali zato nastavlja s akcijašenjem u matičnoj Južnoj Koreji.

Najnoviji glumčev film jest Netflixova futuristička akcija "Lovci u pustoši" ("Hwang-ya"/"Badland Hunters"). Koliku akcijsku povijest ima Dong-seok, sugerira predstavljanje njegova lika, lovca Nam Sama. Lik se spominje kao "onaj" Nam Sam, netko za koga su svi čuli.

Redatelj-debitant Heo Myung-haeng podiže spomenik glumcu s kojim je kao koordinator kaskadera surađivao na "Train To Busan". Zanimljivo je da "Lovce u pustoši" producentski potpisuju producenti ovogodišnjeg južnokorejskog predstavnika u utrci za Oscara, "disaster" filma "Betonska utopija" o preživjelima iz potresa koji je razorio Seul.

"Concrete Utopia" nije došao blizu Oscara, a "Badland Hunters" još su dalje od pojma oskarovskog filma kao južnokorejska verzija "Mad Maxa 2" koja podsjeća na kopije kultne futurističke akcije Georgea Millera kakvih je u osamdesetima bilo na bacanje. Ipak, potres je poveznica između "Lovaca u pustoši" i "Betonske utopije".

Radnja se odvija u Seulu u bliskoj budućnosti nakon što je potres u potpunosti razorio grad i ostatak zemlje, pretvorivši okoliš u postapokaliptičnu pustopoljinu, sve lišeniju hrane i vode, ali ne i lutajućih bandi. Nam Sam je predstavljen kao lovac koji će spasiti mladog pomoćnika Ji-wan (Lee Jun-young) od razjarenog krokodila i skratiti gmaza za glavu.

Scena uspostavlja ton filma prepunog nasilja, a zaplet starta nakon što Nam Samova surogat-kćerku (Roh Jeong-eui) otetmu sljedbenici pomahnitalog liječnika dr. Yanga (Lee Hae-jun) koji smatra da njegov rad može spasiti čovječanstvo, premda daje dovoljno razloga da se u tom posumnja.

Elementi nekakve alegorije potisnuti u drugi plan nauštrb akcije za razliku od, primjerice, prošlogodinjeg južnokorejskog futurističkog akcijskog trilera "Jung-E". Akcijske scene najvrjednija su stavka gledljivog i zaboravljivog filma uz glavnog glumca. Myung-haeng na momente pokazuje da je naučio nešto od redatelja "Vlaka za Busan" Sang-ho Yeona i počesto pregledno koreografira akcijska zbivanja.

Može li se Myung-haeng iz prikrajka nametnuti kao još jedan potencijalni budući akcijski filmaš dospio iz svijeta kaskaderstva poput Chada Stahelskog ("John Wick"), Davida Leitcha ("Atomska plavuša") i Sama Hargravea ("Cijena spasa")? Možda i može. No, da ostvari potencijale trebat će mu originalniji, manje formulaični film od ovoga. Usporedbe radi, "Badland Hunters" je po dometima bliži slabijem nastavku "Train To Busan" nego sjajnom originalu.
