"Larry samo želi prijatelja." – "Igra strave" (2020.)

Are you ready for Larry? Mogla je to biti reklamna krilatica "Igre strave" u stilu "Strave u Ulici brijestova 4" ("Are you ready for Freddy?"). Naime, Larry je novi hororski monstrum franšiznog potencijala koji je sveprisutan baš kao Freddy. Ne vreba Larry žrtve u snovima, ali proganja ih preko zaslona tableta, laptopa, mobitela...

San je nešto bez čovjek ne može, kao i piljenje u ekran pametnog telefona i sličnih uređaja posljednjih godina, što je iskorišteno za trajniji horor efekt. "Svijet samo gleda u zaslone" i svatko iz publike će prije ili kasnije uzeti mobitel u ruke i sjesti za laptop nakon gledanja filma.

Subjektivni kadar s unutrašnje strane ekrana mobitela na kojem mali autist Oliver (odlični Azhy Robertson; sinčić iz "Bračne priče") gleda "Spužva Boba Skockanoga" pred spavanje sugerira Larryjevu spektralnu prisutnost.

Kad malac osjeti usred noći da je netko (Larry) u kući, mama Sarah (Gillian Jacob u potencijalno prijelomnoj ulozi) misli da je ružno sanjao i tješi ga onako kako su roditelji tješili tinejdžere u Freddyjevu serijalu – "to je samo noćna mora".

Nije, premda, ponovimo, Larry ne opstoji u košmarima, već u dimenziji unutar elektroničkog sustava, a i njegov cilj nije "nauditi" Oliveru, već ga "uzeti", povesti u svoj svijet. Jer, Larry "samo želi prijatelja", baš kao i Oliver koji ide na govorne terapije i također komunicira sa svijetom preko mobitela, tj. aplikacije, a prolazi teško razdoblje slušajući svađe roditelja zbog njegova mentalnog stanja i neimaštine.

Larry je "neshvaćeno čudovište" iz istoimene priče za djecu na aplikaciji koja opsjeda Oliverove zaslone. Kao takav, gura priču u domenu "spielbergovske" SF fantazije osamdesetih nadomak "E.T.-ja" s logom Amblina kakvim se otvara dugometražni drugijenac redatelja Jacoba Chasea, snimljen prema njegovom tri godine starom kratkom filmu "Larry".

Pa ipak, "Come Play" je, unatoč PG-13 predikatu, dominantno čisti nadnaravni horor na dobrom tragu "Poltergeista", "Babadooka" i "Somnije", bolji od potonjega, ali i superiorniji prijašnjim filmovima strave nastalim prema kratkišima ("Mama", "Kad se svjetla ugase"), što izgleda da postaje žanrovski trend. Uvodna sekvencija pokazuje od čega će biti sazdan Chaseov uradak.

Tinjajuća strava "suspensea" s planućem u "bu" sceni i kreativno upošljavanje unutar žanra neiskorištenih elemenata ili momenata pokreću horor izraženog tehnološkog podteksta koji tipuje na dječje strahove od mraka i traži da se sklupčamo ispod prekrivača kad dođemo kući iz kina (zapamtit ćete i Larryjevo ukazanje tijekom "sleepovera" kod Olivera).

Crveni "ljigavac", predstavljen na početku filma dok ga klinac kači za zidove mračnih hodnika, kasnije će odati prisutnost "predatorski" nevidljivog monstruma nakon što se zalijepi za nj u jednom u nizu pamtljivih prizora ili scena. Horor je vidio na stotinu izoliranih lokacija, no teško je sjetiti se da je pozornica strave postala naplatna kućica parkinga na osami (tu radi Oliverov otac Marty; John Gallagher Jr.).

Naplatna kućica je poprište dvije-tri hororske scene, počevši od prve, kad vjetar podigne novine i pomoću njih kao da oblikuje kreaturu Larryja. Naravno, proteći će dosta vremena prije nego vidimo Larryja i on dugo vremena biti zaogrnut sjenama i ukazivati se kroz ekrane, kao u izvrsnoj sceni kad Oliver stavlja tzv. filtere na svoje lice u obliku kosturske glave i vrti se s tabletom u krug da bi najednom u gornjem desnom kutku kadra načas osvanuo skeletalni Larry.

Chase pristupa Larryju kao što je M. Night Shyamalan pristupao pojavi onog visokog i blijedog aliena u "Misterioznim znakovima", sa sličnim osjećajem jeze i prepadnuća, a uz dodatak upozoravajuće podtekstualnosti u pogledu moderne ovisnosti o ekranima i uopće alegoričnosti.

Klincima poput Olivera, izoliranima i zatvorenima u sebe, mobiteli i tableti postaju jedini prijatelji i predstavljaju bijeg od nerazumijevanja okoline, usamljenosti i "bullyja" u virtualni svijet gdje na njih mogu vrebati još gora i stvarnija čudovišta od Larryja, monstruma tehnologije i interneta koji će ovdje metaforički i simbolički otjelotvoriti traumu iz djetinjstva ("usamljenost ga je stvorila").

"Igra strave" bila je prilično savršen kinoizbor za Halloween vikend, ali nadilazi okvire Noći vještica i ciljane publike. Jedan od najboljih recentnih filmova strave trebao bi pogledati i svaki roditelj u godini kad je horor (dječje) izolacije, osamljenosti i nerazumijevanja potenciran do maksimuma.

"Igra strave" je bila najgledaniji film u djelomično otvorenim američkim kinima za Halloween vikend, zaradila 3.7 milijuna dolara i svrgula akcijski triler "Pokajnik" s Liamom Neesonom nakon njegove dvotjedne vladavine.

"Larry samo želi prijatelja." – "Igra strave" (2020.)

Are you ready for Larry? Mogla je to biti reklamna krilatica "Igre strave" u stilu "Strave u Ulici brijestova 4" ("Are you ready for Freddy?"). Naime, Larry je novi hororski monstrum franšiznog potencijala koji je sveprisutan baš kao Freddy. Ne vreba Larry žrtve u snovima, ali proganja ih preko zaslona tableta, laptopa, mobitela...

San je nešto bez čovjek ne može, kao i piljenje u ekran pametnog telefona i sličnih uređaja posljednjih godina, što je iskorišteno za trajniji horor efekt. "Svijet samo gleda u zaslone" i svatko iz publike će prije ili kasnije uzeti mobitel u ruke i sjesti za laptop nakon gledanja filma.

Subjektivni kadar s unutrašnje strane ekrana mobitela na kojem mali autist Oliver (odlični Azhy Robertson; sinčić iz "Bračne priče") gleda "Spužva Boba Skockanoga" pred spavanje sugerira Larryjevu spektralnu prisutnost.

Kad malac osjeti usred noći da je netko (Larry) u kući, mama Sarah (Gillian Jacob u potencijalno prijelomnoj ulozi) misli da je ružno sanjao i tješi ga onako kako su roditelji tješili tinejdžere u Freddyjevu serijalu – "to je samo noćna mora".

Nije, premda, ponovimo, Larry ne opstoji u košmarima, već u dimenziji unutar elektroničkog sustava, a i njegov cilj nije "nauditi" Oliveru, već ga "uzeti", povesti u svoj svijet. Jer, Larry "samo želi prijatelja", baš kao i Oliver koji ide na govorne terapije i također komunicira sa svijetom preko mobitela, tj. aplikacije, a prolazi teško razdoblje slušajući svađe roditelja zbog njegova mentalnog stanja i neimaštine.

Larry je "neshvaćeno čudovište" iz istoimene priče za djecu na aplikaciji koja opsjeda Oliverove zaslone. Kao takav, gura priču u domenu "spielbergovske" SF fantazije osamdesetih nadomak "E.T.-ja" s logom Amblina kakvim se otvara dugometražni drugijenac redatelja Jacoba Chasea, snimljen prema njegovom tri godine starom kratkom filmu "Larry".

Pa ipak, "Come Play" je, unatoč PG-13 predikatu, dominantno čisti nadnaravni horor na dobrom tragu "Poltergeista", "Babadooka" i "Somnije", bolji od potonjega, ali i superiorniji prijašnjim filmovima strave nastalim prema kratkišima ("Mama", "Kad se svjetla ugase"), što izgleda da postaje žanrovski trend. Uvodna sekvencija pokazuje od čega će biti sazdan Chaseov uradak.

Tinjajuća strava "suspensea" s planućem u "bu" sceni i kreativno upošljavanje unutar žanra neiskorištenih elemenata ili momenata pokreću horor izraženog tehnološkog podteksta koji tipuje na dječje strahove od mraka i traži da se sklupčamo ispod prekrivača kad dođemo kući iz kina (zapamtit ćete i Larryjevo ukazanje tijekom "sleepovera" kod Olivera).

Crveni "ljigavac", predstavljen na početku filma dok ga klinac kači za zidove mračnih hodnika, kasnije će odati prisutnost "predatorski" nevidljivog monstruma nakon što se zalijepi za nj u jednom u nizu pamtljivih prizora ili scena. Horor je vidio na stotinu izoliranih lokacija, no teško je sjetiti se da je pozornica strave postala naplatna kućica parkinga na osami (tu radi Oliverov otac Marty; John Gallagher Jr.).

Naplatna kućica je poprište dvije-tri hororske scene, počevši od prve, kad vjetar podigne novine i pomoću njih kao da oblikuje kreaturu Larryja. Naravno, proteći će dosta vremena prije nego vidimo Larryja i on dugo vremena biti zaogrnut sjenama i ukazivati se kroz ekrane, kao u izvrsnoj sceni kad Oliver stavlja tzv. filtere na svoje lice u obliku kosturske glave i vrti se s tabletom u krug da bi najednom u gornjem desnom kutku kadra načas osvanuo skeletalni Larry.

Chase pristupa Larryju kao što je M. Night Shyamalan pristupao pojavi onog visokog i blijedog aliena u "Misterioznim znakovima", sa sličnim osjećajem jeze i prepadnuća, a uz dodatak upozoravajuće podtekstualnosti u pogledu moderne ovisnosti o ekranima i uopće alegoričnosti.

Klincima poput Olivera, izoliranima i zatvorenima u sebe, mobiteli i tableti postaju jedini prijatelji i predstavljaju bijeg od nerazumijevanja okoline, usamljenosti i "bullyja" u virtualni svijet gdje na njih mogu vrebati još gora i stvarnija čudovišta od Larryja, monstruma tehnologije i interneta koji će ovdje metaforički i simbolički otjelotvoriti traumu iz djetinjstva ("usamljenost ga je stvorila").

"Igra strave" bila je prilično savršen kinoizbor za Halloween vikend, ali nadilazi okvire Noći vještica i ciljane publike. Jedan od najboljih recentnih filmova strave trebao bi pogledati i svaki roditelj u godini kad je horor (dječje) izolacije, osamljenosti i nerazumijevanja potenciran do maksimuma.

Najgledaniji film za Noć vještica

"Igra strave" je bila najgledaniji film u djelomično otvorenim američkim kinima za Halloween vikend, zaradila 3.7 milijuna dolara i svrgula akcijski triler "Pokajnik" s Liamom Neesonom nakon njegove dvotjedne vladavine.
