"To ste skrivale..." – "America Latina" (2022.)

Srebrni medvjed osvojen na Berlinaleu za scenarij "Mračnih priča" pretvorio je braću D‘Innocenzo u prva imena moderne talijanske kinematografije za većinu kritičara. Ne i ovoga. "Bad Tales" je djelovao kao pomalo isforsirani festivalski spoj Fellinijeva "Amarcorda" i "Sreće" Todda Solondza, s puno pomaknutosti i premalo ljudskosti u portretiranju ovih ili onih ljudskih mračnosti.

Bilo bi nepravedno reći da braća blizanci Damiano i Fabio nisu pokazivali određeni potencijal, ironično prije vizualni nego narativni. No, ako je suditi na temelju tog precijenjenog filma teško da su ekvivalentni Matteu Garroneu ("Gomora", "Priča nad pričama", "Pinokio") kojemu su dali ruke oko scenarija njegova "Dogmana", da ne govorimo o jednom Paulu Sorrentinu ("Velika ljepota", "Mladost", "The Hand Of God").

Novi projekt braće "America Latina", spreman za redovnu kinodistribuciju nakon hrvatske premijere na FMFS-u, korak je naprijed u odnosu na "Mračne priče", ali festivalska zaluđenost talijanskim blizancima, započeta u Berlinu, još uvijek je pretjerana.

Naime, "America Latina" je odvela braću u Veneciju, dakle njihova iduća stanica je vjerojatno Cannes, a možda i Amerika, Hollywood.

Naslov "America Latina" upućuje na to, kao i brojne referencije na američke filmove. Radnja je smještena u Latinu, glavni grad pokrajine Latine u regiji Lazio u kojem prilično lagodno živi i radi zubar Massimo (Elio Germano; glumio i u "Bad Tales"), kao da je u Hollywoodu. Kad se pogleda Massimova luksuzna kuća s bazenom, može se reći da on živi "američki san" u Italiji sa suprugom Alessandrom (Astrid Casali) i dvije kćerke, Laurom i Ileniom (Carlotta Gamba, Federica Pala).

Međutim, uskoro će živjeti američku snomoricu nakon što mu izgori žarulja i odluči uzeti drugu iz podruma, kad tamo neugodno iznenađenje. Silazak u podrum podrazmijeva hororske implikacije i, doista, Massimo ondje pronalazi mladu djevojku (Sara Ciocca), zavezanih usta i ruku.

Umjesto da oslobodi curu ili barem kaže nekome za nju kao što bi napravio svatko normalan, recimo ženi ili svome "drink buddyju" Simoneu (Maurizio Lastrico), Massimo je ostavlja u podrumu i pokušava dokučiti zašto i koliko dugo je tu, te tko ju je doveo. Početna situacija mogla bi nekoga iznervirati, ali "America Latina" ne postaje čudački film Yorgosa Lanthimosa, već se ugleda na "The Shining" i Lynchove umne igrice, magleći granicu između zbilje i halucinacije. 

Radi to nerijetko nesuptilno i odveć objašnjavalački, budući da Massimo "gugla" i pojam "halucinacije", uz "alkohol i amneziju", kao da već nije dovoljna simbolika pregorene žarulje (mentalni slom čovjeka srednjih godina) i silaska u podrum (ludilo), no dovoljno intrigantno u domeni košmarnog psiho-trilera da budi interes i dvojbe gledatelja.

Je li lokalni konobar (Filippo Dini) samo produkt Massimova uma kao i u "Isijavanju", pa i sama djevojka, tj. cijela situacija koja potiče paranoju kod glavnog lika toliko da počinje sumnjati u ženu i kćeri, odjevene u anđeoski bijele halje kao u remakeu "Opčinjenog", da ga žele zamijeniti "boljim ocem" i "poslati u ludnicu". Braća su ovaj put još vizualnija, što nije čudno za nekoga tko je se bavio fotografijom prije režije.

Kamera snima Massima u odrazu od juhe u tanjuru i kao crnu siluetu pored zelenog bazena usred crne noći. Zelena je ključna boja "Americe Latine" i osvjetljuje Massima dok se tušira i kapljice padaju u "slow motionu" s njegova lica u najimpresivnijem (nakošenom) kadru filma koji kao da (ne)namjerno parafrazira "bullet time" prizor s Trinity iz uvoda "Matrixa 2". Trinity puca iz uzija. Massimo puca po šavu.

Sretan put, kamikazo

Idući film braće D‘Innocenzo zove se "Travel Well, Kamikaze", a u njemu će glavnu ulogu igrati Jean-Marc Barr ("Veliko plavetnilo").

"To ste skrivale..." – "America Latina" (2022.)

Srebrni medvjed osvojen na Berlinaleu za scenarij "Mračnih priča" pretvorio je braću D‘Innocenzo u prva imena moderne talijanske kinematografije za većinu kritičara. Ne i ovoga. "Bad Tales" je djelovao kao pomalo isforsirani festivalski spoj Fellinijeva "Amarcorda" i "Sreće" Todda Solondza, s puno pomaknutosti i premalo ljudskosti u portretiranju ovih ili onih ljudskih mračnosti.

Bilo bi nepravedno reći da braća blizanci Damiano i Fabio nisu pokazivali određeni potencijal, ironično prije vizualni nego narativni. No, ako je suditi na temelju tog precijenjenog filma teško da su ekvivalentni Matteu Garroneu ("Gomora", "Priča nad pričama", "Pinokio") kojemu su dali ruke oko scenarija njegova "Dogmana", da ne govorimo o jednom Paulu Sorrentinu ("Velika ljepota", "Mladost", "The Hand Of God").

Novi projekt braće "America Latina", spreman za redovnu kinodistribuciju nakon hrvatske premijere na FMFS-u, korak je naprijed u odnosu na "Mračne priče", ali festivalska zaluđenost talijanskim blizancima, započeta u Berlinu, još uvijek je pretjerana.

Naime, "America Latina" je odvela braću u Veneciju, dakle njihova iduća stanica je vjerojatno Cannes, a možda i Amerika, Hollywood.

Naslov "America Latina" upućuje na to, kao i brojne referencije na američke filmove. Radnja je smještena u Latinu, glavni grad pokrajine Latine u regiji Lazio u kojem prilično lagodno živi i radi zubar Massimo (Elio Germano; glumio i u "Bad Tales"), kao da je u Hollywoodu. Kad se pogleda Massimova luksuzna kuća s bazenom, može se reći da on živi "američki san" u Italiji sa suprugom Alessandrom (Astrid Casali) i dvije kćerke, Laurom i Ileniom (Carlotta Gamba, Federica Pala).

Međutim, uskoro će živjeti američku snomoricu nakon što mu izgori žarulja i odluči uzeti drugu iz podruma, kad tamo neugodno iznenađenje. Silazak u podrum podrazmijeva hororske implikacije i, doista, Massimo ondje pronalazi mladu djevojku (Sara Ciocca), zavezanih usta i ruku.

Umjesto da oslobodi curu ili barem kaže nekome za nju kao što bi napravio svatko normalan, recimo ženi ili svome "drink buddyju" Simoneu (Maurizio Lastrico), Massimo je ostavlja u podrumu i pokušava dokučiti zašto i koliko dugo je tu, te tko ju je doveo. Početna situacija mogla bi nekoga iznervirati, ali "America Latina" ne postaje čudački film Yorgosa Lanthimosa, već se ugleda na "The Shining" i Lynchove umne igrice, magleći granicu između zbilje i halucinacije. 

Radi to nerijetko nesuptilno i odveć objašnjavalački, budući da Massimo "gugla" i pojam "halucinacije", uz "alkohol i amneziju", kao da već nije dovoljna simbolika pregorene žarulje (mentalni slom čovjeka srednjih godina) i silaska u podrum (ludilo), no dovoljno intrigantno u domeni košmarnog psiho-trilera da budi interes i dvojbe gledatelja.

Je li lokalni konobar (Filippo Dini) samo produkt Massimova uma kao i u "Isijavanju", pa i sama djevojka, tj. cijela situacija koja potiče paranoju kod glavnog lika toliko da počinje sumnjati u ženu i kćeri, odjevene u anđeoski bijele halje kao u remakeu "Opčinjenog", da ga žele zamijeniti "boljim ocem" i "poslati u ludnicu". Braća su ovaj put još vizualnija, što nije čudno za nekoga tko je se bavio fotografijom prije režije.

Kamera snima Massima u odrazu od juhe u tanjuru i kao crnu siluetu pored zelenog bazena usred crne noći. Zelena je ključna boja "Americe Latine" i osvjetljuje Massima dok se tušira i kapljice padaju u "slow motionu" s njegova lica u najimpresivnijem (nakošenom) kadru filma koji kao da (ne)namjerno parafrazira "bullet time" prizor s Trinity iz uvoda "Matrixa 2". Trinity puca iz uzija. Massimo puca po šavu.

Sretan put, kamikazo

Idući film braće D‘Innocenzo zove se "Travel Well, Kamikaze", a u njemu će glavnu ulogu igrati Jean-Marc Barr ("Veliko plavetnilo").
