Neretva je ovih dana blago nabujala. U Metkoviću je u ponedjeljak navečer izmjeren vodostaj od 162 centimetra. Vodostaj je viši no ipak je značajno ispod razine kada se proglašavaju pripremne mjere za obranu od poplava.

Međutim, viši vodostaj donosi i probleme, u prvom redu ogromne količine smeća, plastike, plastičnih boca, čepova, vrećica, koje Neretva pokupi od Mostara do Čapljine. Takav otpad uglavnom završava na obalama Neretve ili na Ušću gdje ga rijeka donese u more.

Ekološke udruge su nemoćne pred ovim problemom jer fizički nije moguće zapriječiti dolazak komunalnog otpada iz Hercegovine.

Zagađuju se korito i obale rijeke Neretve, a indirektno je ugroženo i zdravlje ljudi budući se otpad mjesecima zadržava u šašu uz obalu.

Drugi problem je negativan utjecaj plastike na riblji fond, budući riba jede mikroplastiku kao da je plankton. Tako plastika završava i u hranidbenom lancu ljudi, koji konzumiraju ribu.

Ekolozi predlažu da se postave mreže koje bi sakupljale plastični otpad prije negoli dopluta do mora, ali za takve projekte očito nema sluha na terenu.

Veliki zagađivači rijeke Neretve su deponij Uborak kod Mostara te deponij u Čapljini koji se nalaze nedaleko od korita rijeke pa sa svakim većim vodostajem gomile smeća završe u Neretvi od Metkovića do Ploča, a kasnije u moru.

Osim što zagađuje okoliš otpad koji pluta Neretvom predstavlja i potencijalnu opasnost za brodove. Naime, debla iz Neretve doplutavala su i u Neretvanski kanal gdje je dolazilo do havarije brodova, koji su se sudarili sa tim deblima.

Od plutajućeg otpada što ga Neretva donosi s tih divljih odlagališta iz susjedstva, još veća opasnost su nevidljiva kemijska zagađenja koja kroz podzemlje prodiru u vodotokove.

U slivu rijeke Neretve u Bosni i Hercegovini nalazi se desetak ilegalnih divljih deponija koje predstavljaju veliku opasnost za okoliš u donjem Poneretvlju.

Neretva je ovih dana blago nabujala. U Metkoviću je u ponedjeljak navečer izmjeren vodostaj od 162 centimetra. Vodostaj je viši no ipak je značajno ispod razine kada se proglašavaju pripremne mjere za obranu od poplava.

Međutim, viši vodostaj donosi i probleme, u prvom redu ogromne količine smeća, plastike, plastičnih boca, čepova, vrećica, koje Neretva pokupi od Mostara do Čapljine. Takav otpad uglavnom završava na obalama Neretve ili na Ušću gdje ga rijeka donese u more.

Ekološke udruge su nemoćne pred ovim problemom jer fizički nije moguće zapriječiti dolazak komunalnog otpada iz Hercegovine.

Zagađuju se korito i obale rijeke Neretve, a indirektno je ugroženo i zdravlje ljudi budući se otpad mjesecima zadržava u šašu uz obalu.

Drugi problem je negativan utjecaj plastike na riblji fond, budući riba jede mikroplastiku kao da je plankton. Tako plastika završava i u hranidbenom lancu ljudi, koji konzumiraju ribu.

Ekolozi predlažu da se postave mreže koje bi sakupljale plastični otpad prije negoli dopluta do mora, ali za takve projekte očito nema sluha na terenu.

Veliki zagađivači rijeke Neretve su deponij Uborak kod Mostara te deponij u Čapljini koji se nalaze nedaleko od korita rijeke pa sa svakim većim vodostajem gomile smeća završe u Neretvi od Metkovića do Ploča, a kasnije u moru.

Osim što zagađuje okoliš otpad koji pluta Neretvom predstavlja i potencijalnu opasnost za brodove. Naime, debla iz Neretve doplutavala su i u Neretvanski kanal gdje je dolazilo do havarije brodova, koji su se sudarili sa tim deblima.
