Stanovnici Škripa, najstarijega naselja na Braču, skromnije nego prijašnjih godina, ali s puno dostojanstva, proslavili su svetkovinu sv. Jelene, svoje nebeske zaštitnice i dan mjesne fjere.

Zanimljivo je spomenuti da pučka tradicija drži kako je sveta Jelena, majka Konstantina Velikoga, kojega povijest pamti kao onoga koji je zaustavio brutalne progone kršćana, rođena upravo ovdje u Škripu.

Imao je Škrip svoju burnu povijest pomiješanu s legendama koje se i danas prepričavaju u puku. Jedna od njih je da su Dioklecijanova žena Priska i kći Valerja pokopane upravo u Škripu, u raskošnom rimskom mauzoleju iz 3. stoljeća.

Rimski imperator navodno ih je potjerao sa svoga dvora i da bi bio siguran, poslao ih je u izgnanstvo preko mora, na Brač, u čijim su kamenolomima robovi i sužnjevi brali kamen za izgradnju velebne Dioklecijanove palače.

Tu je i Muzej otoka Brača, smješten u Radojkovićevoj kuli iz 14. stoljeća, koji godišnje pohodi više od 12 tisuća posjetitelja, a s takvim posjetom ne mogu se podičiti ni mnogo jača i zvučnija kulturna središta. U Škripu bilo kuda - povijest svuda.

Središnju blagdansku misu u župnoj crkvi sv. Jelene, koja je sagrađena na prijelazu iz 18. u 19. stoljeće, predvodio je nadbiskup koadjutor Vrhbosanske nadbiskupije msgr. Tomo Vukšić, uz koncelebraciju devet svećenika. Toliki broj svećenika mali Škrip odavno nije vidio. Na početku je svima njima, kao i vjerničkom puku koji je ispunio crkvu, riječi dobrodošlice uputio agilni župnik don Pave Gospodnetić.

U svojoj propovijedi predvoditelj misnog slavlja nadbiskup koadjutor Vukšić ukazao je na lik svete Jelene iz četvrtog stoljeća koji je i danas itekako aktualan i pravi putokaz kako slijediti Krista.

- Moralni kredibilitet i moralno pravo utjecati se u zagovor svetaca trebao bi imati samo onaj koji se u životu trudi nasljedovati primjer sveca kojemu se u zagovor preporučuje. U protivnom, ova druga razina pobožnosti, zagovornoga poštovanja štovanja svetaca, postaje vrlo problematična. Upitno je u moralnom smislu imamo li pravo utjecati se u zagovor ako u svom životu ne nasljedujemo primjer svetaca. Sveci su primjer i treba ih nasljedovati u svom životu - posebno je istaknuo msgr. Tomo Vukšić

Pod svetom misom pjevao je mješoviti župni zbor sv. Jeronima iz Pučišća pod vodstvom dirigentice, časne sestre Danijele Mihić. Nakon svete mise ulicama je, uz pjesmu vjerničkog puka, krenula procesija u kojoj se nosio kip škripske zaštitnice. Vjersko slavlje završeno je biskupskim blagoslovom i himnom "Lijepa naša".

U euharistijskom slavlju sudjelovali su članovi viteškog reda Svetoga groba jeruzalemskoga iz Hrvatske, kojima je sv. Jelena zaštitnica. Predvodio ih je njihov magistralni delegat Klod Grbeša, a bili su tu još duhovnik reda fra Darko Tepert te vitezovi Petar Krešimir Hodžić, Tomislav Šaban i Tomo Vuković. Razlog njihova dolaska je što će Kruno Cukrov, koji živi u Supetru, a nosi škripske korijene, uskoro postati član tog viteškog reda.

- Ponosan sam što ću uskoro postati član tog viteškog reda, a njegov član postaje se na preporuku, procedura prijema traje tri godine. Drago mi je što sam u mome Škripu imao prilike susresti se s dijelom vitezova koji djeluju u Hrvatskoj - kazao je Cukrov, otac troje djece.

Zbog epidemioloških razloga izostala je tradicionalna pučka fešta na koju su znali doći mnogi Bračani iz drugih mjesta, kao i turisti.

Stanovnici Škripa, najstarijega naselja na Braču, skromnije nego prijašnjih godina, ali s puno dostojanstva, proslavili su svetkovinu sv. Jelene, svoje nebeske zaštitnice i dan mjesne fjere.

Zanimljivo je spomenuti da pučka tradicija drži kako je sveta Jelena, majka Konstantina Velikoga, kojega povijest pamti kao onoga koji je zaustavio brutalne progone kršćana, rođena upravo ovdje u Škripu.

Imao je Škrip svoju burnu povijest pomiješanu s legendama koje se i danas prepričavaju u puku. Jedna od njih je da su Dioklecijanova žena Priska i kći Valerja pokopane upravo u Škripu, u raskošnom rimskom mauzoleju iz 3. stoljeća.

Rimski imperator navodno ih je potjerao sa svoga dvora i da bi bio siguran, poslao ih je u izgnanstvo preko mora, na Brač, u čijim su kamenolomima robovi i sužnjevi brali kamen za izgradnju velebne Dioklecijanove palače.

Tu je i Muzej otoka Brača, smješten u Radojkovićevoj kuli iz 14. stoljeća, koji godišnje pohodi više od 12 tisuća posjetitelja, a s takvim posjetom ne mogu se podičiti ni mnogo jača i zvučnija kulturna središta. U Škripu bilo kuda - povijest svuda.

Središnju blagdansku misu u župnoj crkvi sv. Jelene, koja je sagrađena na prijelazu iz 18. u 19. stoljeće, predvodio je nadbiskup koadjutor Vrhbosanske nadbiskupije msgr. Tomo Vukšić, uz koncelebraciju devet svećenika. Toliki broj svećenika mali Škrip odavno nije vidio. Na početku je svima njima, kao i vjerničkom puku koji je ispunio crkvu, riječi dobrodošlice uputio agilni župnik don Pave Gospodnetić.

U svojoj propovijedi predvoditelj misnog slavlja nadbiskup koadjutor Vukšić ukazao je na lik svete Jelene iz četvrtog stoljeća koji je i danas itekako aktualan i pravi putokaz kako slijediti Krista.

- Moralni kredibilitet i moralno pravo utjecati se u zagovor svetaca trebao bi imati samo onaj koji se u životu trudi nasljedovati primjer sveca kojemu se u zagovor preporučuje. U protivnom, ova druga razina pobožnosti, zagovornoga poštovanja štovanja svetaca, postaje vrlo problematična. Upitno je u moralnom smislu imamo li pravo utjecati se u zagovor ako u svom životu ne nasljedujemo primjer svetaca. Sveci su primjer i treba ih nasljedovati u svom životu - posebno je istaknuo msgr. Tomo Vukšić

Pod svetom misom pjevao je mješoviti župni zbor sv. Jeronima iz Pučišća pod vodstvom dirigentice, časne sestre Danijele Mihić. Nakon svete mise ulicama je, uz pjesmu vjerničkog puka, krenula procesija u kojoj se nosio kip škripske zaštitnice. Vjersko slavlje završeno je biskupskim blagoslovom i himnom "Lijepa naša".

U euharistijskom slavlju sudjelovali su članovi viteškog reda Svetoga groba jeruzalemskoga iz Hrvatske, kojima je sv. Jelena zaštitnica. Predvodio ih je njihov magistralni delegat Klod Grbeša, a bili su tu još duhovnik reda fra Darko Tepert te vitezovi Petar Krešimir Hodžić, Tomislav Šaban i Tomo Vuković. Razlog njihova dolaska je što će Kruno Cukrov, koji živi u Supetru, a nosi škripske korijene, uskoro postati član tog viteškog reda.

- Ponosan sam što ću uskoro postati član tog viteškog reda, a njegov član postaje se na preporuku, procedura prijema traje tri godine. Drago mi je što sam u mome Škripu imao prilike susresti se s dijelom vitezova koji djeluju u Hrvatskoj - kazao je Cukrov, otac troje djece.

Zbog epidemioloških razloga izostala je tradicionalna pučka fešta na koju su znali doći mnogi Bračani iz drugih mjesta, kao i turisti.
