U američkom Senatu u petak je postignut načelni sporazum između većinskih demokrata i dijela oporbenih republikanaca, koji treba omogućiti prihvaćanje paketa gospodarskih poticaja vrijednog 780 milijardi dolara, stožernog oslonca u naporima administracije Baracka Obame da se obuzda najteža recesija u više desetljeća.

- Amerikanci žele da radimo zajednički. Oni ne žele stranačke podjele u vrijeme najozbiljnije krize s kojom se suočava naša zemlja - izjavila je senatorica Susan Collins, jedna od dvoje ili troje republikanskih senatora koji su izrazili potporu zakonu.

Dužnosnici su procijenili veličinu paketa na 780 milijardi dolara, no među samim senatorima čini se da vlada određena zbrka oko pravog iznosa paketa, izvješćuju američke TV mreže.

Sporazumu je prethodio napeti dan pregovora iza zatvorenih vrata u kojima je čelnik senatske većine Harry Reid, imao podršku energičnog šefa osoblja Bijele kuće Rahma Emanuela u nastojanjima da osiguraju 60 glasova potrebnih za donošenje zakona.

Uz senatoricu Collins, svoj glas za zakon obećao je i republikanski senator Arlen Specter, te s manjom sigurnošću i senatorica Olympia Snowe.

Demokrati u Senatu imaju većinu od 58 prema 41, no za izglasavanja zakona o poticajima treba im 60 glasova.

Senator Edward M. Kennedy, koji se bori s tumorom na mozgu, došao je u Senat za slučaj da bude potreban njegov glas, prvi puta nakon inauguracije prije dva tjedna kada je doživio napad i završio u bolnici.

Glasovanje o zakonu očekuje se u subotu ili nedjelju, dok bi idućega tjedna Senat trebao uskladiti svoju verziju zakona s onom Predstavničkog doma Kongresa, usvojenu prošloga tjedna, u vrijednosti od 819 milijardi dolara.

Predsjednik Obama trebao bi usklađenu verziju potpisati do 15. veljače.

U američkom Senatu u petak je postignut načelni sporazum između većinskih demokrata i dijela oporbenih republikanaca, koji treba omogućiti prihvaćanje paketa gospodarskih poticaja vrijednog 780 milijardi dolara, stožernog oslonca u naporima administracije Baracka Obame da se obuzda najteža recesija u više desetljeća.

- Amerikanci žele da radimo zajednički. Oni ne žele stranačke podjele u vrijeme najozbiljnije krize s kojom se suočava naša zemlja - izjavila je senatorica Susan Collins, jedna od dvoje ili troje republikanskih senatora koji su izrazili potporu zakonu.

Dužnosnici su procijenili veličinu paketa na 780 milijardi dolara, no među samim senatorima čini se da vlada određena zbrka oko pravog iznosa paketa, izvješćuju američke TV mreže.

Sporazumu je prethodio napeti dan pregovora iza zatvorenih vrata u kojima je čelnik senatske većine Harry Reid, imao podršku energičnog šefa osoblja Bijele kuće Rahma Emanuela u nastojanjima da osiguraju 60 glasova potrebnih za donošenje zakona.

Uz senatoricu Collins, svoj glas za zakon obećao je i republikanski senator Arlen Specter, te s manjom sigurnošću i senatorica Olympia Snowe.

Demokrati u Senatu imaju većinu od 58 prema 41, no za izglasavanja zakona o poticajima treba im 60 glasova.

Senator Edward M. Kennedy, koji se bori s tumorom na mozgu, došao je u Senat za slučaj da bude potreban njegov glas, prvi puta nakon inauguracije prije dva tjedna kada je doživio napad i završio u bolnici.

Glasovanje o zakonu očekuje se u subotu ili nedjelju, dok bi idućega tjedna Senat trebao uskladiti svoju verziju zakona s onom Predstavničkog doma Kongresa, usvojenu prošloga tjedna, u vrijednosti od 819 milijardi dolara.

Predsjednik Obama trebao bi usklađenu verziju potpisati do 15. veljače.

U američkom Senatu u petak je postignut načelni sporazum između većinskih demokrata i dijela oporbenih republikanaca, koji treba omogućiti prihvaćanje paketa gospodarskih poticaja vrijednog 780 milijardi dolara, stožernog oslonca u naporima administracije Baracka Obame da se obuzda najteža recesija u više desetljeća.
