U prosincu 1984. se oko tri tisuće beluga kitova našlo zarobljeno u ledu nedaleko od Beringovova tjesnaca. Nezaleđeni dio mora koji im je bio jedina mogućnost za izranjanje i udisanje svježeg zraka se iz dana u dan smanjivao.

Prvi oblik pomoći se sastojao od donošenja svježe ribe za hranu i pokušaja prokopavanja prolaza u ledu. To se ubrzo pokazalo kao nemoguća misija: ledeni pokrivač je bio deblji od četiri metra. Bio je to posao za ledolomca.

I to ne bilo kakvog: u veljači 1985. prema belugama se zaputio brod Moskva, najjači ruski ledolomac. Iz helikoptera je kitovima i dalje bacana riba, a Moskva se polako, tijekom nekoliko dana probijala kroz led.

Kada je konačno napravila prolaz u ledu i došla do kitova, ispostavilo se da je to tek pola posla; trebalo je beluge privoljeti da krenu za brodom prema otvorenom moru.

Iscrpljeni i uplašeni od 130 metara dugog i bučnog broda, kitovi se nisu usuđivali krenuti za njim. Sve dok se netko nije sjetio da morski sisavci pozitivno reagiraju na muziku. Pa su je preko brodskih zvučnika pustili. Beluge su, polako, krenule za brodom.

Navodno ih je najviše opustila i privukla klasična glazba. Zapovjednik ledolomca, kapetan Kovalenko je radio vezom javio: 

- Naša je taktika malo se povući, pa navaliti na led, napraviti prolaz u njemu i stati i čekati. I onda taj postupak ponavljati. Beluge su pomalo shvatile što radimo i krenule su za brodom. 

Proboj do otvorenog mora je trajao nekoliko tjedana, sve do kraja veljače. Iz ledenog obruča se uspješno izvuklo oko dvije tisuće kitova.

U prosincu 1984. se oko tri tisuće beluga kitova našlo zarobljeno u ledu nedaleko od Beringovova tjesnaca. Nezaleđeni dio mora koji im je bio jedina mogućnost za izranjanje i udisanje svježeg zraka se iz dana u dan smanjivao.

Prvi oblik pomoći se sastojao od donošenja svježe ribe za hranu i pokušaja prokopavanja prolaza u ledu. To se ubrzo pokazalo kao nemoguća misija: ledeni pokrivač je bio deblji od četiri metra. Bio je to posao za ledolomca.

I to ne bilo kakvog: u veljači 1985. prema belugama se zaputio brod Moskva, najjači ruski ledolomac. Iz helikoptera je kitovima i dalje bacana riba, a Moskva se polako, tijekom nekoliko dana probijala kroz led.

Kada je konačno napravila prolaz u ledu i došla do kitova, ispostavilo se da je to tek pola posla; trebalo je beluge privoljeti da krenu za brodom prema otvorenom moru.

Iscrpljeni i uplašeni od 130 metara dugog i bučnog broda, kitovi se nisu usuđivali krenuti za njim. Sve dok se netko nije sjetio da morski sisavci pozitivno reagiraju na muziku. Pa su je preko brodskih zvučnika pustili. Beluge su, polako, krenule za brodom.

Navodno ih je najviše opustila i privukla klasična glazba. Zapovjednik ledolomca, kapetan Kovalenko je radio vezom javio: 

- Naša je taktika malo se povući, pa navaliti na led, napraviti prolaz u njemu i stati i čekati. I onda taj postupak ponavljati. Beluge su pomalo shvatile što radimo i krenule su za brodom. 

Proboj do otvorenog mora je trajao nekoliko tjedana, sve do kraja veljače. Iz ledenog obruča se uspješno izvuklo oko dvije tisuće kitova.

Beringov tjesnacTri tisuće beluga našlo se zarobljeno u ledu, a nezaleđeni dio mora se iz dana u dan smanjivao. Spasili si ih najjači ruski ledolomac i - klasična glazba

U prosincu 1984. se oko tri tisuće beluga kitova našlo zarobljeno u ledu nedaleko od Beringovova tjesnaca. Nezaleđeni dio mora koji im je bio jedina mogućnost za izranjanje i udisanje svježeg zraka se iz dana u dan smanjivao.

Prvi oblik pomoći se sastojao od donošenja svježe ribe za hranu i pokušaja prokopavanja prolaza u ledu. To se ubrzo pokazalo kao nemoguća misija: ledeni pokrivač je bio deblji od četiri metra. Bio je to posao za ledolomca.

I to ne bilo kakvog: u veljači 1985. prema belugama se zaputio brod Moskva, najjači ruski ledolomac. Iz helikoptera je kitovima i dalje bacana riba, a Moskva se polako, tijekom nekoliko dana probijala kroz led.

Kada je konačno napravila prolaz u ledu i došla do kitova, ispostavilo se da je to tek pola posla; trebalo je beluge privoljeti da krenu za brodom prema otvorenom moru.

Iscrpljeni i uplašeni od 130 metara dugog i bučnog broda, kitovi se nisu usuđivali krenuti za njim. Sve dok se netko nije sjetio da morski sisavci pozitivno reagiraju na muziku. Pa su je preko brodskih zvučnika pustili. Beluge su, polako, krenule za brodom.

Navodno ih je najviše opustila i privukla klasična glazba. Zapovjednik ledolomca, kapetan Kovalenko je radio vezom javio: 

- Naša je taktika malo se povući, pa navaliti na led, napraviti prolaz u njemu i stati i čekati. I onda taj postupak ponavljati. Beluge su pomalo shvatile što radimo i krenule su za brodom. 

Proboj do otvorenog mora je trajao nekoliko tjedana, sve do kraja veljače. Iz ledenog obruča se uspješno izvuklo oko dvije tisuće kitova.
