Velik broj brodova koji plovi oceanima predstavlja ozbiljnu prijetnju kitovima. Sudari s velikim plovilima često ostaju neprimijećeni i neprijavljeni. Mnogi kitovi pronađeni su pak nasukani na obali s ozljedama od udarca koji jasno ukazuju na udar broda, pokazuju izvješća biologa koji se bave zaštitom kitova.

Jedan bliski kontakt kita i broda ipak je zabilježen na Pacifiku, prenosi Washington Post.

Sredinom ožujka, četiri prijatelja plovila su od Galapagosa do Francuske Polinezije, na trotjednom putovanju, na 44-metarskoj jedrilici, Raindancer. U trenutku dok su jeli pizzu koju je ispekla njihova kolegica na brodu, osjetili su snažan udarac u desni bok broda.

Došlo je do prodiranja mora, te je u svega 15 minuta brod potonuo, a posada se uspjela spasiti čamcem za spašavanje VHF-om obavjestivši obalnu stražu o svojoj situaciji. Proveli su 10 sati plutajući dok nije stigla pomoć.

Prema njihovom kazivaju, kit je zadobio ozbiljan udarac jer je krvavio, a moguće je da su bila i dva. Na koncu, posada je živa i zdrava, no pitanje je što je s kitom.

Otkako je 2007. pokrenuta svjetska baza podataka, podneseno je više od 1200 izvještaja o sudaru kitova i brodova, rekla je Kate Wilson, glasnogovornica Međunarodne komisije za lov na kitove. Sudari koji prouzrokuju znatnu štetu rijetki su, rekla je Obalna straža SAD-a, napominjući da je posljednje spašavanje koje se pripisuje šteti od kita bilo potonuće J-Boata od 120 stopa 2009. u blizini Donje Kalifornije, a posadu je spasio helikopter Obalne straže.

Neprofitna organizacija World Sustainable Organization(WSO) primjerice zagovara preusmjeravanje nekih brodskih linija koje prelaze područja oceana gdje je poznato da se kitovi hrane ili razmnožavaj u jer tada i izlaze na površinu, te tako dolazi do sudara s brodovima. Prema njihovom izvješću, zone visokog rizika uključuju južnu obalu Šri Lanke, zaljev Hauraki na Novom Zelandu, Kanarske otoke i Sredozemno more.

Velik broj brodova koji plovi oceanima predstavlja ozbiljnu prijetnju kitovima. Sudari s velikim plovilima često ostaju neprimijećeni i neprijavljeni. Mnogi kitovi pronađeni su pak nasukani na obali s ozljedama od udarca koji jasno ukazuju na udar broda, pokazuju izvješća biologa koji se bave zaštitom kitova.

Jedan bliski kontakt kita i broda ipak je zabilježen na Pacifiku, prenosi Washington Post.

Sredinom ožujka, četiri prijatelja plovila su od Galapagosa do Francuske Polinezije, na trotjednom putovanju, na 44-metarskoj jedrilici, Raindancer. U trenutku dok su jeli pizzu koju je ispekla njihova kolegica na brodu, osjetili su snažan udarac u desni bok broda.

Došlo je do prodiranja mora, te je u svega 15 minuta brod potonuo, a posada se uspjela spasiti čamcem za spašavanje VHF-om obavjestivši obalnu stražu o svojoj situaciji. Proveli su 10 sati plutajući dok nije stigla pomoć.

Prema njihovom kazivaju, kit je zadobio ozbiljan udarac jer je krvavio, a moguće je da su bila i dva. Na koncu, posada je živa i zdrava, no pitanje je što je s kitom.

Otkako je 2007. pokrenuta svjetska baza podataka, podneseno je više od 1200 izvještaja o sudaru kitova i brodova, rekla je Kate Wilson, glasnogovornica Međunarodne komisije za lov na kitove. Velik broj brodova koji plovi oceanima predstavlja ozbiljnu prijetnju kitovima. Sudari s velikim plovilima često ostaju neprimijećeni i neprijavljeni. Mnogi kitovi pronađeni su pak nasukani na obali s ozljedama od udarca koji jasno ukazuju na udar broda, pokazuju izvješća biologa koji se bave zaštitom kitova.

Jedan bliski kontakt kita i broda ipak je zabilježen na Pacifiku, prenosi Washington Post.

Sredinom ožujka, četiri prijatelja plovila su od Galapagosa do Francuske Polinezije, na trotjednom putovanju, na 44-metarskoj jedrilici, Raindancer. U trenutku dok su jeli pizzu koju je ispekla njihova kolegica na brodu, osjetili su snažan udarac u desni bok broda.

Došlo je do prodiranja mora, te je u svega 15 minuta brod potonuo, a posada se uspjela spasiti čamcem za spašavanje VHF-om obavjestivši obalnu stražu o svojoj situaciji. Proveli su 10 sati plutajući dok nije stigla pomoć.

Prema njihovom kazivaju, kit je zadobio ozbiljan udarac jer je krvavio, a moguće je da su bila i dva. Na koncu, posada je živa i zdrava, no pitanje je što je s kitom.

Otkako je 2007. pokrenuta svjetska baza podataka, podneseno je više od 1200 izvještaja o sudaru kitova i brodova, rekla je Kate Wilson, glasnogovornica Međunarodne komisije za lov na kitove.
