Omanski tim za istraživanje špilja spustio se u Barhout, vrtaču poznatu i kao "Pakleni bunar" u pustinji jemenske provincije Al-Mahra. Tim omanskih speleologa napravio je ono za što se vjeruje da je prvi silazak na dno zabranjene vrtače duboke oko 112 metara. Vrtaču izbjegavaju mnogi mještani, koji vjeruju da je to zatvor za demone. Mještani drže turiste podalje od vrtače pričama kako ljudi i životinje koje se približe previše blizu budu usisani u nju.

– Legenda kaže da rupa datira iz doba prije Krista, a nastala je zbog zvijezde padalice. No drugi sugeriraju kako je jedan od starih jemenskih kraljeva iskoristio demona da napravi rupu u koju je položio cijelo svoje bogatstvo, pa kad umre, demoni će štititi njegovu imovinu.
Priče o bunaru pakla raznolike su. Postoji i priča kako je jedna žena ostavila svoju bebu blizu bunara, a kad se vratila, nije pronašla svoje dijete. Druga priča kaže da je jedan od znanstvenika ušao u bunar kako bi ga istražio, a tada su se začuli jaki vriskovi. Znanstvenik je izvučen, no donja mu je polovica odsječena, kaže Salah Babhair, generalni direktor Mahrina geološkog istraživanja i nadležnosti za mineralne resurse.

Ekspedicija nije pronašla nikakve demone, nego tek ostatke životinja koje su godinama nesretnim slučajem upadale u rupu. Do sada su se istraživači bili spuštali tek do 50-60 metara dubine jer vrtača ima malo kisika i nema ventilacije. Tim je ovaj put stigao do dna i dobio jedinstven pogled na pod špilje i njezine kamene formacije.

Tim omanskih speleologa napravio je ono za što se vjeruje da je prvi silazak na dno zabranjene vrtače duboke oko 112 metara. Vrtaču izbjegavaju mnogi mještani, koji vjeruju da je to zatvor za demone. Mještani drže turiste podalje od vrtače pričama kako ljudi i životinje koje se približe previše blizu budu usisani u nju.

– Legenda kaže da rupa datira iz doba prije Krista, a nastala je zbog zvijezde padalice. No drugi sugeriraju kako je jedan od starih jemenskih kraljeva iskoristio demona da napravi rupu u koju je položio cijelo svoje bogatstvo, pa kad umre, demoni će štititi njegovu imovinu.
Priče o bunaru pakla raznolike su. Postoji i priča kako je jedna žena ostavila svoju bebu blizu bunara, a kad se vratila, nije pronašla svoje dijete. Druga priča kaže da je jedan od znanstvenika ušao u bunar kako bi ga istražio, a tada su se začuli jaki vriskovi. Znanstvenik je izvučen, no donja mu je polovica odsječena, kaže Salah Babhair, generalni direktor Mahrina geološkog istraživanja i nadležnosti za mineralne resurse.

Ekspedicija nije pronašla nikakve demone, nego tek ostatke životinja koje su godinama nesretnim slučajem upadale u rupu. Do sada su se istraživači bili spuštali tek do 50-60 metara dubine jer vrtača ima malo kisika i nema ventilacije. Tim je ovaj put stigao do dna i dobio jedinstven pogled na pod špilje i njezine kamene formacije.
