Protekli srpanj je bio najtopliji srpanj do sada zabilježen na Zemlji, potvrdio je u utorak Klimatski opservatorij Europske unije.

Obilježen toplinskim valovima i požarima diljem svijeta, protekli mjesec bio je za 0,33 stupnja Celzija viši od rekorda postavljenog u srpnju 2019. kada je prosječna temperatura na planetu iznosila 16,63 stupnjeva Celzija, navodi se.

"Mjesec je bio 0,72 C topliji od prosjeka za srpanj 1991-2020", dodaje se.

"Toplinski valovi zabilježeni su u više regija sjeverne hemisfere, uključujući južnu Europu. Temperature znatno iznad prosjeka dogodile su se u nekoliko južnoameričkih zemalja i oko većeg dijela Antarktike", rekao je klimatski opservatorij EU Copernicus.

"Globalna srednja vrijednost za 2023. treća je najveća zabilježena, s 0,43 C u odnosu na 1991.-2020., u usporedbi s 0,49 C za 2016. i 0,48 C za 2020. Očekuje se da će se razlika između 2023. i 2016. smanjiti u narednim mjesecima, jer su posljednji mjeseci 2016. bili relativno hladni... dok se očekuje da će ostatak 2023. biti relativno topao s obzirom na trenutni fenomen El Nino."

Znanstvenici su ranije upozorili da bi srpanj mogao postaviti novi rekord.

Oceani na sobnoj temperaturi

Svjetski oceani također su postavili novi temperaturni rekord, izazivajući zabrinutost zbog posrednih učinaka na klimu planeta, morski život i obalne zajednice. Temperatura površine oceana porasla je na 20,96 stupnjeva Celzija 30. srpnja, prema podacima klimatskog opservatorija Europske unije.

Prethodni rekord iznosio je 20,95 C u ožujku 2016., rekla je ranije za AFP glasnogovornica Službe za klimatske promjene Copernicus.

"Upravo smo svjedočili globalnim temperaturama zraka i globalnim temperaturama površine oceana koje su postavile nove rekorde svih vremena u srpnju. Ti rekordi imaju strašne posljedice i za ljude i za planet koji je izložen sve češćim i intenzivnijim ekstremnim događajima", rekla je Samantha Burgess, zamjenica direktora Copernicus služba EU-a za klimatske promjene.

"2023. je trenutno treća najtoplija godina do sada s 0,43 C iznad nedavnog prosjeka, s prosječnom globalnom temperaturom u srpnju za 1,5 C iznad predindustrijskih razina.

"Čak i ako je ovo samo privremeno, pokazuje koliko su hitno potrebni napori za smanjenje globalnih emisija stakleničkih plinova, koji su glavni pokretač tih rekorda", rekla je.

Šumski požari opustošili su dijelove Grčke i spalili 30 milijuna hektara u Kanadi, dok su južna Europa, dijelovi Sjeverne Afrike, jug Sjedinjenih Država i dijelovi Kine zahvaćeni teškim toplinskim valom.

Posljedica smrtonosnih kiša u Pekingu

Smrtonosne kiše koje su proteklih dana pogodile glavni grad Kine Peking bile su najteže otkako se bilježi vrijednost oborina prije 140 godina.

Carlo Buontempo, direktor Copernicusa, ranije je rekao da su temperature u tom razdoblju bile "izvanredne".

Osim tih službenih zapisa, rekao je da drugi podaci o klimi koji sežu u prošlost, poput godova drveća ili jezgri leda, sugeriraju da bi temperature viđene u ovom razdoblju mogle biti "bez presedana u našoj povijesti u posljednjih nekoliko tisuća godina".

Vjerojatno čak i duže "na razini 100.000 godina", rekao je Buontempo.

Protekli srpanj je bio najtopliji srpanj do sada zabilježen na Zemlji, potvrdio je u utorak Klimatski opservatorij Europske unije.

Obilježen toplinskim valovima i požarima diljem svijeta, protekli mjesec bio je za 0,33 stupnja Celzija viši od rekorda postavljenog u srpnju 2019. kada je prosječna temperatura na planetu iznosila 16,63 stupnjeva Celzija, navodi se.

"Mjesec je bio 0,72 C topliji od prosjeka za srpanj 1991-2020", dodaje se.

"Toplinski valovi zabilježeni su u više regija sjeverne hemisfere, uključujući južnu Europu. Temperature znatno iznad prosjeka dogodile su se u nekoliko južnoameričkih zemalja i oko većeg dijela Antarktike", rekao je klimatski opservatorij EU Copernicus.

"Globalna srednja vrijednost za 2023. treća je najveća zabilježena, s 0,43 C u odnosu na 1991.-2020., u usporedbi s 0,49 C za 2016. i 0,48 C za 2020. Očekuje se da će se razlika između 2023. i 2016. smanjiti u narednim mjesecima, jer su posljednji mjeseci 2016. bili relativno hladni... dok se očekuje da će ostatak 2023. biti relativno topao s obzirom na trenutni fenomen El Nino."

Znanstvenici su ranije upozorili da bi srpanj mogao postaviti novi rekord.

Oceani na sobnoj temperaturi

Svjetski oceani također su postavili novi temperaturni rekord, izazivajući zabrinutost zbog posrednih učinaka na klimu planeta, morski život i obalne zajednice. Temperatura površine oceana porasla je na 20,96 stupnjeva Celzija 30. srpnja, prema podacima klimatskog opservatorija Europske unije.

Prethodni rekord iznosio je 20,95 C u ožujku 2016., rekla je ranije za AFP glasnogovornica Službe za klimatske promjene Copernicus.

"Čak i ako je ovo samo privremeno, pokazuje koliko su hitno potrebni napori za smanjenje globalnih emisija stakleničkih plinova, koji su glavni pokretač tih rekorda", rekla je.

Smrtonosne kiše koje su proteklih dana pogodile glavni grad Kine Peking bile su najteže otkako se bilježi vrijednost oborina prije 140 godina.

Carlo Buontempo, direktor Copernicusa, ranije je rekao da su temperature u tom razdoblju bile "izvanredne".

Osim tih službenih zapisa, rekao je da drugi podaci o klimi koji sežu u prošlost, poput godova drveća ili jezgri leda, sugeriraju da bi temperature viđene u ovom razdoblju mogle biti "bez presedana u našoj povijesti u posljednjih nekoliko tisuća godina".

Vjerojatno čak i duže "na razini 100.000 godina", rekao je Buontempo.
