Istraživački tim Kalifornijskog sveučilišta u Riversideu vjeruje da su otkrili lijek za ćelavost. Naime, kako su objavili, kada se spriječi nakupljanje TGF-proteina, kemikalija koja normalno potiče rast koji izlučuju mnoge stanice u cijelom tijelu, uključujući bijela krvna zrnca, može se spriječiti da uopće dođe do ćelavosti, a kada se manipulira tim proteinom u smislu da se pogodi određena točna doza, moguće je potaknuti rast dlaka na mjestima gdje je ispala kosa. Slamka je to spasa za milijune koji se suočavaju s gubitkom kose.

- TGF-beta ima dvije suprotne uloge. Pomaže aktivirati neke stanice folikula dlake kako bi proizvele novi život, a kasnije pomaže orkestrirati apoptozu, proces stanične smrti - objašnjavaju znanstvenici s Kalifornijskog sveučilišta. Dr. Qixuan Wang, biologinja koja je vodila rad, rekla je da je istraživanje primaknulo znanstvenike korak bliže ‘kontroli‘ mehanizama koji uzrokuju ćelavost te otvorilo puteve pronalasku načina da se zaustavi gubitak kose povezan s dobi.

Modeliranje koje je proveo tim otkrilo je visoke koncentracije TGF-beta - prirodno pronađene u folikulima - mogu biti toksične. Dakle, ćelavost može biti potaknuta visokim koncentracijama TGF- beta u folikulima dlake što dovodi do njihova umiranja, a, s druge strane, kada je folikulima postignuta idealna razina proteina, stvaraju se nove dlake, izvijestio je tim znanstvenika. Inače, stanice u folikulima dlake povremeno umiru, što uzrokuje ispadanje kose, a taj se proces događa oko sto puta dnevno.

- Svaka stanica sadrži i matične stanice, koje mogu generirati nove stanice za stvaranje kose kako bi se osiguralo da izgubljeni pramen ponovno izraste. U istraživanju su znanstvenici koristili skupove podataka na temelju ispitivanja provedenih na površini kože koja su otkrila koncentraciju različitih kemikalija.

Koga pogađa ćelavost

Ćelavost može pogoditi i muškarce i žene, a često se nasljeđuje. Također može biti uzrokovano i time što tijelo počinje napadati vlastite folikule dlake - u stanju poznatom kao alopecija areata - što dovodi do gubitka kose u roku od nekoliko tjedana. Stres i nošenje ekstenzija također mogu dovesti do gubitka kose.

Razlikuje se alopecija i gubitak kose povezan s dobi. Alopecija areata uzrokovana je imunološkim sustavom tijela koji napada folikule dlake. Folikuli drže kosu na mjestu, pa kada su oštećeni kosa počinje ispadati. Obično uzrokuje kružne ili ovalne mrlje ćelavosti. Bolest se može pojaviti u bilo kojem trenutku života i nepredvidiva je, a stručnjaci još uvijek nisu sigurni što je u genetskom sastavu uzrokuje.

S druge strane, gubitak kose povezan s dobi uzrokovan je nasljednim čimbenicima. Geni naslijeđeni od bilo kojeg roditelja uzrokuju da se folikuli s vremenom smanjuju i na kraju kosa prestaje rasti.

To stanje može započeti u tinejdžerskim godinama, ali je češći kasnije u životu. Nije uzrokovan imunosnim odgovorom i stoga na njega ne utječu lijekovi s ciljem suzbijanja obrambenog sustava tijela.

Preuranjeni zaključci

Dr. Anthony Oro, dermatolog sa Stanford Health Care u Kaliforniji, pregledavajući studiju, rekao je da su zaključci o ulozi TGF-beta još preuranjeni.

- Studija koristi postojeće podatke uglavnom o rastu mišjih dlaka, a znamo da je regulacija rasta kose miša i ljudi sasvim drugačija. Drugo, studija koristi normalan rast kose, a ne mušku ćelavost, pa se zaključci iz jednog ne odnose nužno na drugu. Na kraju, studija ne potvrđuje nijedan od svojih nalaza kod pacijenata, pa su zaključci o ulozi TGF-beta u ćelavosti preuranjeni - smatra dr. Oro.

Istraživački tim Kalifornijskog sveučilišta u Riversideu vjeruje da su otkrili lijek za ćelavost. Naime, kako su objavili, kada se spriječi nakupljanje TGF-proteina, kemikalija koja normalno potiče rast koji izlučuju mnoge stanice u cijelom tijelu, uključujući bijela krvna zrnca, može se spriječiti da uopće dođe do ćelavosti, a kada se manipulira tim proteinom u smislu da se pogodi određena točna doza, moguće je potaknuti rast dlaka na mjestima gdje je ispala kosa. Slamka je to spasa za milijune koji se suočavaju s gubitkom kose.

- TGF-beta ima dvije suprotne uloge. Pomaže aktivirati neke stanice folikula dlake kako bi proizvele novi život, a kasnije pomaže orkestrirati apoptozu, proces stanične smrti - objašnjavaju znanstvenici s Kalifornijskog sveučilišta. Modeliranje koje je proveo tim otkrilo je visoke koncentracije TGF-beta - prirodno pronađene u folikulima - mogu biti toksične. Dakle, ćelavost može biti potaknuta visokim koncentracijama TGF- beta u folikulima dlake što dovodi do njihova umiranja, a, s druge strane, kada je folikulima postignuta idealna razina proteina, stvaraju se nove dlake, izvijestio je tim znanstvenika. Inače, stanice u folikulima dlake povremeno umiru, što uzrokuje ispadanje kose, a taj se proces događa oko sto puta dnevno.

Koga pogađa ćelavost

Ćelavost može pogoditi i muškarce i žene, a često se nasljeđuje. Također može biti uzrokovano i time što tijelo počinje napadati vlastite folikule dlake - u stanju poznatom kao alopecija areata - što dovodi do gubitka kose u roku od nekoliko tjedana. Stres i nošenje ekstenzija također mogu dovesti do gubitka kose.

Razlikuje se alopecija i gubitak kose povezan s dobi. Alopecija areata uzrokovana je imunološkim sustavom tijela koji napada folikule dlake. Folikuli drže kosu na mjestu, pa kada su oštećeni kosa počinje ispadati. Obično uzrokuje kružne ili ovalne mrlje ćelavosti. Bolest se može pojaviti u bilo kojem trenutku života i nepredvidiva je, a stručnjaci još uvijek nisu sigurni što je u genetskom sastavu uzrokuje.

S druge strane, gubitak kose povezan s dobi uzrokovan je nasljednim čimbenicima. Geni naslijeđeni od bilo kojeg roditelja uzrokuju da se folikuli s vremenom smanjuju i na kraju kosa prestaje rasti.

To stanje može započeti u tinejdžerskim godinama, ali je češći kasnije u životu. Nije uzrokovan imunosnim odgovorom i stoga na njega ne utječu lijekovi s ciljem suzbijanja obrambenog sustava tijela.

Preuranjeni zaključci

Dr. Anthony Oro, dermatolog sa Stanford Health Care u Kaliforniji, pregledavajući studiju, rekao je da su zaključci o ulozi TGF-beta još preuranjeni.

- Studija koristi postojeće podatke uglavnom o rastu mišjih dlaka, a znamo da je regulacija rasta kose miša i ljudi sasvim drugačija. Drugo, studija koristi normalan rast kose, a ne mušku ćelavost, pa se zaključci iz jednog ne odnose nužno na drugu. Na kraju, studija ne potvrđuje nijedan od svojih nalaza kod pacijenata, pa su zaključci o ulozi TGF-beta u ćelavosti preuranjeni - smatra dr. Oro.
