Proizvodi za ravnanje kose mogu znatno povećati rizik od razvoja raka maternice u žena koje ih često koriste, pokazuje opsežna studija objavljena u znanstvenom časopisu.
"Procjenjujemo da će se u žena do njihove 70. godine rak maternice razviti u njih 1,64 posto koje nikada nisu koristile sredstvo za ravnanje kovrčave kose, odnosno 4,05 u žena koje ga često koriste", rekla je voditelja studije Alexandra White iz Američkog nacionalnog instituta za sigurnost ekološkog zdravlja (NIEHS).
"Međutim, važno je tu informaciju staviti u kontekst. Rak maternice relativno je rijedak tip karcinoma", dodaje ona.
Ipak, rak maternice je jedan od najčešćih ginekoloških karcinoma u Sjedinjenim Državama, prema podacima Američkih centara za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti (CDC), a stope rastu, osobito u afroameričkih žena. Rak maternice čini nekih 3 posto novih slučajeva karcinoma u SAD-u s oko 66.000 slučajeva i 12.5000 smrti u 2022., navodi agencija AFP.
Rak maternice treba razlikovati od raka grlića maternice, dodaje francuska agencija.
Znanstvenici su pratili 33.947 žena različitih rasa u dobi od 35 do 74 godine u prosjeku gotovo 11 godina. U tom razdoblju 378 žena razvilo je rak maternice.
Pošto su izuzeti drugi rizični čimbenici, znanstvenici su ustanovili da je rizik od razvoja raka maternice dva i po puta veći u žena koje su sredstvo za ravnanje kose koristile više od četiri puta u prethodnoj godini.
Rjeđa uporaba tog sredstva u prethodnoj godini također je povezana s povećanim rizikom od raka maternice, no razlika nije statistički važna.
Ranije studije već su upozorile na vezu između proizvoda za ravnanje kose i povećanog rizika za razvoja raka dojke ili raka jajnika.
Kemijski proizvodi koji bi mogli povećati rizik od razvoja raka su parabeni, bisphenol A, metali ili formaldehid koji se može koristiti za tzv. ‘brazilsko‘ ravnanje kose, a taj je proizvod klasificiran kao kancerogen.
Okidač bi mogao biti i poremećaj hormonalnog sustava.
Proizvodi za ravnanje kose mogli bi potaknuti apsorpciju kemijskih proizvoda putem ranica ili opekotina na vlasištu izazvanima tzv. "glačalom za kosu" čija toplina razlaže kemijske proizvode.
"Ova znanstvena otkrića prvi su epidemiološki dokaz veze između proizvoda za ravnanje kose i raka maternice", rekla je White koja je s kolegama objavila rad u u časopisu The Journal of the National Cancer Institute.

Studijom nije potvrđeno da je sredstva za ravnanje kose nejednako utječu na žene ovisno o rasi.
"Međutim, crnkinje češće koriste sredstva za ravnanje kose i počinju to činiti u ranijoj životnoj dobi nego druge rase ili etničke skupine pa su zato rezultati ove studije za njih relevantni", kazala je suautorica studije Che-Jung Chang iz NIEHS-a-
Studijom nije utvrđena nikakva veza između raka maternice i drugih tehnika kao što su bojanje kose, izbjeljivanje kose ili trajne ondulacije.

Proizvodi za ravnanje kose mogu znatno povećati rizik od razvoja raka maternice u žena koje ih često koriste, pokazuje opsežna studija objavljena u znanstvenom časopisu.
"Procjenjujemo da će se u žena do njihove 70. godine rak maternice razviti u njih 1,64 posto koje nikada nisu koristile sredstvo za ravnanje kovrčave kose, odnosno 4,05 u žena koje ga često koriste", rekla je voditelja studije Alexandra White iz Američkog nacionalnog instituta za sigurnost ekološkog zdravlja (NIEHS).
"Međutim, važno je tu informaciju staviti u kontekst. Rak maternice relativno je rijedak tip karcinoma", dodaje ona.
Ipak, rak maternice je jedan od najčešćih ginekoloških karcinoma u Sjedinjenim Državama, prema podacima Američkih centara za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti (CDC), a stope rastu, osobito u afroameričkih žena. Rak maternice čini nekih 3 posto novih slučajeva karcinoma u SAD-u s oko 66.000 slučajeva i 12.5000 smrti u 2022., navodi agencija AFP.
Rak maternice treba razlikovati od raka grlića maternice, dodaje francuska agencija.
Znanstvenici su pratili 33.947 žena različitih rasa u dobi od 35 do 74 godine u prosjeku gotovo 11 godina. U tom razdoblju 378 žena razvilo je rak maternice.
Pošto su izuzeti drugi rizični čimbenici, znanstvenici su ustanovili da je rizik od razvoja raka maternice dva i po puta veći u žena koje su sredstvo za ravnanje kose koristile više od četiri puta u prethodnoj godini.
Rjeđa uporaba tog sredstva u prethodnoj godini također je povezana s povećanim rizikom od raka maternice, no razlika nije statistički važna.
Ranije studije već su upozorile na vezu između proizvoda za ravnanje kose i povećanog rizika za razvoja raka dojke ili raka jajnika.
Kemijski proizvodi koji bi mogli povećati rizik od razvoja raka su parabeni, bisphenol A, metali ili formaldehid koji se može koristiti za tzv. ‘brazilsko‘ ravnanje kose, a taj je proizvod klasificiran kao kancerogen.
Okidač bi mogao biti i poremećaj hormonalnog sustava.
Proizvodi za ravnanje kose mogli bi potaknuti apsorpciju kemijskih proizvoda putem ranica ili opekotina na vlasištu izazvanima tzv. "glačalom za kosu" čija toplina razlaže kemijske proizvode.
"Ova znanstvena otkrića prvi su epidemiološki dokaz veze između proizvoda za ravnanje kose i raka maternice", rekla je White koja je s kolegama objavila rad u u časopisu The Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
"Potreban su dodatna istraživanja... da se identificiraju specifični kemijski sastojci povezani s tim razvojem", rekla je-
Studijom nije potvrđeno da je sredstva za ravnanje kose nejednako utječu na žene ovisno o rasi.
"Međutim, crnkinje češće koriste sredstva za ravnanje kose i počinju to činiti u ranijoj životnoj dobi nego druge rase ili etničke skupine pa su zato rezultati ove studije za njih relevantni", kazala je suautorica studije Che-Jung Chang iz NIEHS-a-
Studijom nije utvrđena nikakva veza između raka maternice i drugih tehnika kao što su bojanje kose, izbjeljivanje kose ili trajne ondulacije.
