Dok pandemija koronavirusa, poput plimnog vala, jednima  uništava dugogodišnje političke karijere, drugima ih istodobno uzdiže u neslućene visine.

Četrdesetogodišnja novozelandska premijerka Jacinda Ardern egzemplar je iz druge kategorije. Svoju je Laburističku stranku neki dan dovela do najboljih izbornih rezultata u zadnjih 70 godina, osvojivši drugi mandat na vlasti i prvu samostalnu parlamentarnu većinu otkad je na Novom Zelandu uveden proporcionalni izborni sustav.

Njezina povijesna pobjeda podcrtana je iznimnim vladinim uspjehom u iskorjenjivanju koronavirusa, povrh premijerkine osobne političke karizme godinama građene na empatiji i kompetenciji. Vogue ju je nedavno krstio "anti-Trumpom", ženom predvodnicom novog kadrovskog modela. Superzvijezda buduće jednostranačke vlade i pravi politički brand otočne države na vrhuncu je svoje karijere, suočena s nemalim izazovom da opravda i velik broj glasova birača desnog centra koji su joj ukazali povjerenje.

U trenutku kad se gotovo čitava Europa ponovno suočava s lockdownom i s masovnim otporima protiv istog, itekako se vrijedi prisjetiti kako je Ardernova to temeljito odradila bez ikakve primjene sile, sirovog demonstriranja autoriteta i gnjevnih ispada nezadovoljnika na ulicama. Vodeći svoj „tim od 5 milijuna ljudi“, kako voli nazivati naciju, širila je empatiju prema ugroženima i nezaštićenima gdje god je to mogla i plijenila vlastitim primjerom.

Zahvaljujući pravodobnim mjerama, imali su samo 25 smrtnih slučajeva, te manje od dvije tisuće oboljelih. I novozelandsko gospodarstvo je itekako osjetilo posljedice karantene te je ovog ljeta palo za oko 12 posto, no građani nisu bijesni na vodstvo. Prije početka pandemije, Jacindini laburisti bili su ispod pet postotaka prednosti pred suparničkom Nacionalnom strankom; prošle subote ta se razlika više nego učetverostručila.

Uspjeh u borbi protiv korone predstavlja kontinuitet talenta Jacinde Ardern u kriznom liderstvu. Nakon što je vjerski fanatizam potaknuo masakr u Christchurchu tijekom molitve u džamiji, odmah se javno identificirala s onima na koje se pucalo - muslimanskom zajednicom - i uvela hitne zabrane jurišnog oružja. Slično je rukovodila zemljom i u vrijeme tragedije s erupcijom vulkana na otoku Whakaari, gdje je ubijeno i ozlijeđeno također pedesetak ljudi.

Nasuprot politici podjela, antagoniziranja i svađa koju su baštinili i baštine mnogi njezini kolege, Jacinda je svijetu demonstrirala kako se puno kreativnije vlada zemljom koja je kolektivno osjetljiva na patnju i ujedinjena oko temeljnih ciljeva, naročito u teškim vremenima.

Zahvaljujući njoj bogata, rijetko naseljena i udaljena otočna država danas, za razliku od mnogih, ne strepi od scenarija novog sloma. Još žive donekle izolirani od svijeta i u svom balonu, no ekonomija i život im, osim posustalog turizma, prilično normalno funkcioniraju, a na ragbi utakmicama zna se okupiti i do 30 tisuća ljudi.

Kritičari joj i dalje znaju predbaciti kako Jacindin stil uvjerljivo dominira nad političkim sadržajem i kako su joj brojna obećanja, npr. o iskorjenjivanju dječjeg siromaštva i stambene nejednakosti na Novom Zelandu, ostala netaknuta.

No, i takvi perfekcionisti su prilično svjesni kako bi premijerku koja u samo jednom mandatu zemlju uspješno provede kroz teroristički masakr, vulkansku erupciju i najgoru pandemiju, spasi ekonomiju te usput još riješi i najdelikatnija socijalna pitanja, ipak prije zvali Wonderwoman, nego Jacinda.  A pred Jacom su i nove četiri godine u kojima joj nitko od koalicijskih partnera ne može podmetati klipove, a ni ona  kriviti druge za moguće neuspjehe.

Dok pandemija koronavirusa, poput plimnog vala, jednima  uništava dugogodišnje političke karijere, drugima ih istodobno uzdiže u neslućene visine.

Četrdesetogodišnja novozelandska premijerka Jacinda Ardern egzemplar je iz druge kategorije. Svoju je Laburističku stranku neki dan dovela do najboljih izbornih rezultata u zadnjih 70 godina, osvojivši drugi mandat na vlasti i prvu samostalnu parlamentarnu većinu otkad je na Novom Zelandu uveden proporcionalni izborni sustav.

Njezina povijesna pobjeda podcrtana je iznimnim vladinim uspjehom u iskorjenjivanju koronavirusa, povrh premijerkine osobne političke karizme godinama građene na empatiji i kompetenciji. Vogue ju je nedavno krstio "anti-Trumpom", ženom predvodnicom novog kadrovskog modela. Superzvijezda buduće jednostranačke vlade i pravi politički brand otočne države na vrhuncu je svoje karijere, suočena s nemalim izazovom da opravda i velik broj glasova birača desnog centra koji su joj ukazali povjerenje.

U trenutku kad se gotovo čitava Europa ponovno suočava s lockdownom i s masovnim otporima protiv istog, itekako se vrijedi prisjetiti kako je Ardernova to temeljito odradila bez ikakve primjene sile, sirovog demonstriranja autoriteta i gnjevnih ispada nezadovoljnika na ulicama. Vodeći svoj „tim od 5 milijuna ljudi“, kako voli nazivati naciju, širila je empatiju prema ugroženima i nezaštićenima gdje god je to mogla i plijenila vlastitim primjerom.

Zahvaljujući pravodobnim mjerama, imali su samo 25 smrtnih slučajeva, te manje od dvije tisuće oboljelih. I novozelandsko gospodarstvo je itekako osjetilo posljedice karantene te je ovog ljeta palo za oko 12 posto, no građani nisu bijesni na vodstvo. Prije početka pandemije, Jacindini laburisti bili su ispod pet postotaka prednosti pred suparničkom Nacionalnom strankom; prošle subote ta se razlika više nego učetverostručila.

Uspjeh u borbi protiv korone predstavlja kontinuitet talenta Jacinde Ardern u kriznom liderstvu. Nakon što je vjerski fanatizam potaknuo masakr u Christchurchu tijekom molitve u džamiji, odmah se javno identificirala s onima na koje se pucalo - muslimanskom zajednicom - i uvela hitne zabrane jurišnog oružja. Slično je rukovodila zemljom i u vrijeme tragedije s erupcijom vulkana na otoku Whakaari, gdje je ubijeno i ozlijeđeno također pedesetak ljudi.

Nasuprot politici podjela, antagoniziranja i svađa koju su baštinili i baštine mnogi njezini kolege, Jacinda je svijetu demonstrirala kako se puno kreativnije vlada zemljom koja je kolektivno osjetljiva na patnju i ujedinjena oko temeljnih ciljeva, naročito u teškim vremenima.

Zahvaljujući njoj bogata, rijetko naseljena i udaljena otočna država danas, za razliku od mnogih, ne strepi od scenarija novog sloma. Još žive donekle izolirani od svijeta i u svom balonu, no ekonomija i život im, osim posustalog turizma, prilično normalno funkcioniraju, a na ragbi utakmicama zna se okupiti i do 30 tisuća ljudi.

Kritičari joj i dalje znaju predbaciti kako Jacindin stil uvjerljivo dominira nad političkim sadržajem i kako su joj brojna obećanja, npr. o iskorjenjivanju dječjeg siromaštva i stambene nejednakosti na Novom Zelandu, ostala netaknuta.

No, i takvi perfekcionisti su prilično svjesni kako bi premijerku koja u samo jednom mandatu zemlju uspješno provede kroz teroristički masakr, vulkansku erupciju i najgoru pandemiju, spasi ekonomiju te usput još riješi i najdelikatnija socijalna pitanja, ipak prije zvali Wonderwoman, nego Jacinda.  A pred Jacom su i nove četiri godine u kojima joj nitko od koalicijskih partnera ne može podmetati klipove, a ni ona  kriviti druge za moguće neuspjehe.

Novozelandska Wonderwoman: premijerka Ardern dovela laburiste do najvećeg izbornog uspjeha u 70 godina

Dok pandemija koronavirusa, poput plimnog vala, jednima  uništava dugogodišnje političke karijere, drugima ih istodobno uzdiže u neslućene visine.

Četrdesetogodišnja novozelandska premijerka Jacinda Ardern egzemplar je iz druge kategorije. Svoju je Laburističku stranku neki dan dovela do najboljih izbornih rezultata u zadnjih 70 godina, osvojivši drugi mandat na vlasti i prvu samostalnu parlamentarnu većinu otkad je na Novom Zelandu uveden proporcionalni izborni sustav.

Njezina povijesna pobjeda podcrtana je iznimnim vladinim uspjehom u iskorjenjivanju koronavirusa, povrh premijerkine osobne političke karizme godinama građene na empatiji i kompetenciji.
