Služba EU-a za praćenje klimatskih promjena Copernicus u utorak je objavila da je ovogodišnji ožujak bio najtopliji ožujak u povijesti mjerenja, čime je nastavljen 10-mjesečni niz u kojemu je svaki uzastopni mjesec postavljao novi temperaturni rekord, pri čemu je i temperatura površine mora dosegnula novi apsolutni mjesečni rekord za globalnu morsku temperaturu.

Svaki od posljednjih deset mjeseci rangiran je kao najtopliji ikada dosad zabilježen u svijetu u usporedbi s odgovarajućim mjesecom prethodnih godina, podaci su iz mjesečnog biltena Copernicusa.

Dakle, to nije bio samo deseti uzastopni mjesec koji je oborio vlastiti toplinski rekord već je i "globalna prosječna temperatura u posljednjih 12 mjeseci najviša ikada dosad evidentirana" i premašuje predindustrijski prosjek za 1,58 Celzijev stupanj usljed desetljeća emisija stakleničkih plinova, čiji je učinak od sredine 2023. godine posebno naglašen fenomenom El Niña, rekla je Samantha Burgess, zamjenica voditelja službe za klimatske promjene Copernicusa.

"To je dugoročan trend s iznimnim rekordima koji nas jako brine", rekla Burgess, dodavši da nam praćenje i "proučavanje ovakvih zapisa iz mjeseca u mjesec doista pokazuje da se naša klima vrlo brzo mijenja."

Kao rezultat klimatskog fenomena El Niño i uznemirujućeg pada njenih vodenih rezervi, kolumbijska prijestolnica Bogota će implementirati mjere ograničenja pitke vode.

Skup podataka Copernicusa seže do 1940. godine, a znanstvenici su ga usporedili s ostalim relevantnim podacima da bi potvrdili kako je prošli mjesec bio najtopliji ožujak od predindustrijskog razdoblja.

Već je 2023. bila najtoplija godina na planetu po svjetskim zapisima koji postoje od 1850. godine.

Ekstremni vremenski uvjeti i iznimne temperature ove su godine globalno izazvale pustoš. Suša izazvana klimatskim promjenama u području amazonske prašume u razdoblju od siječnja do ožujka potaknula je rekordan broj šumskih požara u Venezueli, a suša u južnoj Africi uništila je usjeve i suočila milijune ljudi s glađu.

Rekordno zagrijavanje površine mora 

Burgess je kazala da podaci o morima i oceanima "nisu ništa manje šokantni", jer je novi rekord globalne temperature površine oceana postavljen u veljači ponovno premašen u ožujku.

Oceani prekrivaju 70 posto planeta i održavaju Zemljinu površinu pogodnom za život, apsorbirajući 90 posto viška topline proizvedene onečišćenjem ugljičnim dioksidom koji je rezultat ljudske aktivnosti još od početka industrijskog doba.

Znanstvenici su prošli mjesec upozorili da će zbog zagrijavanja oceana na južnoj hemisferi doći do masovnog izbjeljivanja koralja i da bi ono moglo biti najopasnije u povijesti planeta.

Primarni uzrok iznimnih vrućina su emisije stakleničkih plinova koje je prouzročio čovjek, stoji u biltenu Copernicusa.

Ostali čimbenici koji utječu na povećanje temperature su El Nino, prirodna meteorološka pojava povezana sa zagrijavanjem površinskih voda istočnoga ekvatorijalnog Tihog oceana, koji se događao ciklički u razdoblju od tri ili osam godina.

El Nino je dosegao vrhunac u prosincu i siječnju i sada slabi, što bi moglo pridonijeti da se prekine vrući niz prema kraju godine.

Topliji oceani znače i više vlage u atmosferi. Znanstvenici kažu da zrak općenito može zadržati oko sedam posto više vodene pare za svaki Celzijusov stupanj porasta temperature.

To rezultira sve nestalnijim vremenskim prilikama, poput žestokih vjetrova i obilnih kiša.

"Znamo da će razdoblje u kojemu trenutno živimo vjerojatno biti najtoplije u posljednjih 100.000 godina", rekla je Burgess.

I dok se ruše klimatski rekordi, znanstvenici raspravljaju o tomu jesu li ekstremne vrućine zabilježene prošle godine unutar granica prognoziranog ili je riječ o nečem još nepoznatom.

"Glavni pokretač zagrijavanja su emisije fosilnih goriva", smatra Friederike Otto, klimatska znanstvenica s Grantham instituta na londonskom Imperial Collegeu.

Neuspješno smanjenje tih emisija nastavit će poticati zagrijavanje planeta, a to će rezultirati intenzivnijim sušama, požarima, toplinskim valovima i obilnim oborinama, upozorila je Otto.

Služba EU-a za praćenje klimatskih promjena Copernicus u utorak je objavila da je ovogodišnji ožujak bio najtopliji ožujak u povijesti mjerenja, čime je nastavljen 10-mjesečni niz u kojemu je svaki uzastopni mjesec postavljao novi temperaturni rekord, pri čemu je i temperatura površine mora dosegnula novi apsolutni mjesečni rekord za globalnu morsku temperaturu.

Svaki od posljednjih deset mjeseci rangiran je kao najtopliji ikada dosad zabilježen u svijetu u usporedbi s odgovarajućim mjesecom prethodnih godina, podaci su iz mjesečnog biltena Copernicusa.

Dakle, to nije bio samo deseti uzastopni mjesec koji je oborio vlastiti toplinski rekord već je i "globalna prosječna temperatura u posljednjih 12 mjeseci najviša ikada dosad evidentirana" i premašuje predindustrijski prosjek za 1,58 Celzijev stupanj usljed desetljeća emisija stakleničkih plinova, čiji je učinak od sredine 2023. godine posebno naglašen fenomenom El Niña, rekla je Samantha Burgess, zamjenica voditelja službe za klimatske promjene Copernicusa.

"To je dugoročan trend s iznimnim rekordima koji nas jako brine", rekla Burgess, dodavši da nam praćenje i "proučavanje ovakvih zapisa iz mjeseca u mjesec doista pokazuje da se naša klima vrlo brzo mijenja."

Skup podataka Copernicusa seže do 1940. godine, a znanstvenici su ga usporedili s ostalim relevantnim podacima da bi potvrdili kako je prošli mjesec bio najtopliji ožujak od predindustrijskog razdoblja.

Već je 2023. bila najtoplija godina na planetu po svjetskim zapisima koji postoje od 1850. godine.

Ekstremni vremenski uvjeti i iznimne temperature ove su godine globalno izazvale pustoš. Suša izazvana klimatskim promjenama u području amazonske prašume u razdoblju od siječnja do ožujka potaknula je rekordan broj šumskih požara u Venezueli, a suša u južnoj Africi uništila je usjeve i suočila milijune ljudi s glađu.

Rekordno zagrijavanje površine mora 

Burgess je kazala da podaci o morima i oceanima "nisu ništa manje šokantni", jer je novi rekord globalne temperature površine oceana postavljen u veljači ponovno premašen u ožujku.

Oceani prekrivaju 70 posto planeta i održavaju Zemljinu površinu pogodnom za život, apsorbirajući 90 posto viška topline proizvedene onečišćenjem ugljičnim dioksidom koji je rezultat ljudske aktivnosti još od početka industrijskog doba.

Znanstvenici su prošli mjesec upozorili da će zbog zagrijavanja oceana na južnoj hemisferi doći do masovnog izbjeljivanja koralja i da bi ono moglo biti najopasnije u povijesti planeta.

Primarni uzrok iznimnih vrućina su emisije stakleničkih plinova koje je prouzročio čovjek, stoji u biltenu Copernicusa.

Ostali čimbenici koji utječu na povećanje temperature su El Nino, prirodna meteorološka pojava povezana sa zagrijavanjem površinskih voda istočnoga ekvatorijalnog Tihog oceana, koji se događao ciklički u razdoblju od tri ili osam godina.

El Nino je dosegao vrhunac u prosincu i siječnju i sada slabi, što bi moglo pridonijeti da se prekine vrući niz prema kraju godine.

Topliji oceani znače i više vlage u atmosferi. Znanstvenici kažu da zrak općenito može zadržati oko sedam posto više vodene pare za svaki Celzijusov stupanj porasta temperature.

To rezultira sve nestalnijim vremenskim prilikama, poput žestokih vjetrova i obilnih kiša.

"Znamo da će razdoblje u kojemu trenutno živimo vjerojatno biti najtoplije u posljednjih 100.000 godina", rekla je Burgess.

I dok se ruše klimatski rekordi, znanstvenici raspravljaju o tomu jesu li ekstremne vrućine zabilježene prošle godine unutar granica prognoziranog ili je riječ o nečem još nepoznatom.

"Glavni pokretač zagrijavanja su emisije fosilnih goriva", smatra Friederike Otto, klimatska znanstvenica s Grantham instituta na londonskom Imperial Collegeu.

Neuspješno smanjenje tih emisija nastavit će poticati zagrijavanje planeta, a to će rezultirati intenzivnijim sušama, požarima, toplinskim valovima i obilnim oborinama, upozorila je Otto.

Neuspješno smanjenje tih emisija nastavit će poticati zagrijavanje planeta, a to će rezultirati intenzivnijim sušama, požarima, toplinskim valovima i obilnim oborinama, upozorila je Otto.
