Gradonačelnik Zagreba Milan Bandić održao je u ponedjeljak press konferenciju ispred Glazbene akademije na Trgu maršala Tita na kojoj je objavio da odustaje od referenduma te Gradskoj skupštini predlaže promjenu imena Trga maršala Tita u redovnoj proceduri - piše Jutarnji.hr.

- Nadam se da ćemo nakon večeras riješiti dio prijepora i problema. Još odzvanjaju protesti ljevice i desnice ranije ovih dana i tako iz godine u godinu. Inzistirao sam i mislio da ima dovoljno razuma da narod odluči na referendumu. I vidim da nema. Budući da imam 61 godinu i šest mandata na čelu grada, znam slušati puls i bilo naših građana.

Drznuo sam se u šestom mandatu predložiti nešto protiv čega nitko normalan u ovoj državi ne bi imao ništa protiv, osim onih koji žele liječiti svoje frustracije. Ali oni me ne zanimaju. Nalazimo se ovdje ispred Glazbene akademije na, još uvijek, Trgu maršala Tita. Sjeverno se nalazi remek djelo Ivana Meštrovića "Majka domovine" i Sveučilište u Zagrebu zajedno s Pravnim fakultetom, preko ceste je Meštrovićev "Zdenac života". Lijevo je gradska kavana, a južno Hrvatski Sokol i Marulić. U središtu je pak središnji hram hrvatske kulture, Hrvatsko narodno kazalište koje zaslužuje da nosi ime najvećeg i najljepšeg trga u Hrvatskoj.

Moj prijedlog će biti da se ovaj trg zove Trg Republike Hrvatske. Kako reče Matoš, "Dok je srca bit će i Kroacije", a ja kažem da dok će biti Trga Hrvatske Republike bit će i Hrvatske - završio je Bandić.

Gradonačelnik nije odgovarao na pitanja novinara, a na odlasku se u njega zaletjela jedna gospođa te ga je od veselja zbog najavljenog prijedloga poljubila u čelo.

Bandić je svojim prijedlogom, sasvim je izvjesno, osigurao većinu u Gradskoj skupštini, s obzirom da partneri na koje računa traže promjenu imena Trga i to u redovnoj proceduri, a ne na referendumu kako je to on obećavao. U toj većini trebali bi se, uz njegove zastupnike, naći i HDZ te zastupnici nedavno osnovane stranke Brune Esih i Zlatka Hasanbegovića.

Gradonačelnik Zagreba Milan Bandić održao je u ponedjeljak press konferenciju ispred Glazbene akademije na Trgu maršala Tita na kojoj je objavio da odustaje od referenduma te Gradskoj skupštini predlaže promjenu imena Trga maršala Tita u redovnoj proceduri - piše Jutarnji.hr.

- Nadam se da ćemo nakon večeras riješiti dio prijepora i problema. Još odzvanjaju protesti ljevice i desnice ranije ovih dana i tako iz godine u godinu. Inzistirao sam i mislio da ima dovoljno razuma da narod odluči na referendumu. I vidim da nema. Budući da imam 61 godinu i šest mandata na čelu grada, znam slušati puls i bilo naših građana.

Drznuo sam se u šestom mandatu predložiti nešto protiv čega nitko normalan u ovoj državi ne bi imao ništa protiv, osim onih koji žele liječiti svoje frustracije. Ali oni me ne zanimaju. Nalazimo se ovdje ispred Glazbene akademije na, još uvijek, Trgu maršala Tita. Sjeverno se nalazi remek djelo Ivana Meštrovića "Majka domovine" i Sveučilište u Zagrebu zajedno s Pravnim fakultetom, preko ceste je Meštrovićev "Zdenac života". Lijevo je gradska kavana, a južno Hrvatski Sokol i Marulić. U središtu je pak središnji hram hrvatske kulture, Hrvatsko narodno kazalište koje zaslužuje da nosi ime najvećeg i najljepšeg trga u Hrvatskoj.

Moj prijedlog će biti da se ovaj trg zove Trg Republike Hrvatske. Kako reče Matoš, "Dok je srca bit će i Kroacije", a ja kažem da dok će biti Trga Hrvatske Republike bit će i Hrvatske - završio je Bandić.

Gradonačelnik nije odgovarao na pitanja novinara, a na odlasku se u njega zaletjela jedna gospođa te ga je od veselja zbog najavljenog prijedloga poljubila u čelo.

Bandić je svojim prijedlogom, sasvim je izvjesno, osigurao većinu u Gradskoj skupštini, s obzirom da partneri na koje računa traže promjenu imena Trga i to u redovnoj proceduri, a ne na referendumu kako je to on obećavao. U toj većini trebali bi se, uz njegove zastupnike, naći i HDZ te zastupnici nedavno osnovane stranke Brune Esih i Zlatka Hasanbegovića.
