U sukobima tibetskih prosvjednika nezadovoljnih zbog kineske nazočnosti i redarstvenih snaga nekoliko je osoba izgubilo život, a veći broj je ozlijeđen u petak, u povijesnom središtu Lhasse, tibetske prijestolnice.

Riječ je o najvećim prosvjedima u Lhassi nakon pobune u ožujku 1989.

Novi metež u tom osjetljivom području koje je pod kineskim nadzorom od 1951. trebao bi pojačati pritisak kojemu je već izložena kineska vlada na međunarodnoj pozornici kako bi poboljšala ljudska prava, kao što je i obećala kada je dobila domaćinstvo Olimpijskih igara.

Neredi su zahvatili stari dio grada Lhasse, napose dio oko glasovitog samostana Jokhang, turističke znamenitosti, nakon višednevnih prosvjeda budističkih redovnika.

Prosvjedi su potaknuli mnoge svjetske prijestolnice da upute pozive na smirenje stanja, kao i dalaj lama, duhovni i svjetski vođa tibetskih budista koji je od Kine zatražio da "odustane od primjene sile" u Tibetu.

Radio Slobodna Azija (RFA), pozivajući se na svjedoke u Lhassi, izvijestio je o najmanje dvoje mrtvih.

Prosvjednici su "opustošili kineske trgovine, a policija je pravim mecima pucala u mnoštvo. Nitko se u Lhassi ne smije kretati ulicom", rekao je tibetski izvor za radio kojemu je sjedište u SAD-u.

Kako navodi medicinska sestra u bolnici u Lhassi, najmanje desetak ljudi je ozlijeđeno i prevezeno u bolnicu.

Budistički redovnici od ponedjeljka prosvjeduju u Tibetu i u susjednim pokrajinama, gdje žive tibetske manjine, u prigodi obilježavanja 49. obljetnice ustanka u Lhassi koji se završio progonom dalaj lame u Indiju.

Prosvjedi dolaze u trenutku važnog političkog događaja u Pekingu, potvrde novog mandata predsjednika Hua Jintaa u parlamentu. Potonji je bio predsjednik Tibeta 1989., u vrijeme velike pobune.

U sukobima tibetskih prosvjednika nezadovoljnih zbog kineske nazočnosti i redarstvenih snaga nekoliko je osoba izgubilo život, a veći broj je ozlijeđen u petak, u povijesnom središtu Lhasse, tibetske prijestolnice.

Riječ je o najvećim prosvjedima u Lhassi nakon pobune u ožujku 1989.

Novi metež u tom osjetljivom području koje je pod kineskim nadzorom od 1951. trebao bi pojačati pritisak kojemu je već izložena kineska vlada na međunarodnoj pozornici kako bi poboljšala ljudska prava, kao što je i obećala kada je dobila domaćinstvo Olimpijskih igara.

Neredi su zahvatili stari dio grada Lhasse, napose dio oko glasovitog samostana Jokhang, turističke znamenitosti, nakon višednevnih prosvjeda budističkih redovnika.

Prosvjedi su potaknuli mnoge svjetske prijestolnice da upute pozive na smirenje stanja, kao i dalaj lama, duhovni i svjetski vođa tibetskih budista koji je od Kine zatražio da "odustane od primjene sile" u Tibetu.

Radio Slobodna Azija (RFA), pozivajući se na svjedoke u Lhassi, izvijestio je o najmanje dvoje mrtvih.

Prosvjednici su "opustošili kineske trgovine, a policija je pravim mecima pucala u mnoštvo. Nitko se u Lhassi ne smije kretati ulicom", rekao je tibetski izvor za radio kojemu je sjedište u SAD-u.

Kako navodi medicinska sestra u bolnici u Lhassi, najmanje desetak ljudi je ozlijeđeno i prevezeno u bolnicu.

Budistički redovnici od ponedjeljka prosvjeduju u Tibetu i u susjednim pokrajinama, gdje žive tibetske manjine, u prigodi obilježavanja 49. obljetnice ustanka u Lhassi koji se završio progonom dalaj lame u Indiju.

Prosvjedi dolaze u trenutku važnog političkog događaja u Pekingu, potvrde novog mandata predsjednika Hua Jintaa u parlamentu. Potonji je bio predsjednik Tibeta 1989., u vrijeme velike pobune.
