Japanski seizmolozi uočili su još 1. ožujka znakove velikog potresa, cijelih deset dana prije nego što se on dogodio, ali japanska vlada nije učinila ništa. Nije evakuirala pučanstvo, a reaktore u nuklearki Fukushimi počela je gasiti tek deset minuta prije potresa, pa se oni nisu mogli sigurno ohladiti, što je dovelo do nuklearne katastrofe. Da se poslušalo seizmologe, bili bi spašeni deseci tisuća žrtava velikog tsunamija i ne bi bilo nuklearne katastrofe.

Sve to i još mnogo toga kazao je Talijan Pier Francesco Biagi, profesor fizike na Sveučilištu u Bariju, jedan od vodećih svjetskih stručnjaka za predviđanje potresa na svijetu, američkom časopisu Executive Intelligence Review.

Upozorenje stiglo 1. ožujka

Biagi i talijanski seizmolozi, koji surađuju s drugim istaknutim stručnjacima ove vrste – ponajprije japanskima i ruskima (Masashijem Hayakawom, Olegom A. Molčanovom i drugima) – danas mogu predvidjeti potres deset dana prije nego što se on dogodi, i to s 80 posto točnosti. Istina, epicentar potresa ne mogu točno predvidjeti, ali mogu u krugu od 100 kilometara. Sve su to učinili i japanski stručnjaci još 1. ožujka ove godine, zahvaljujući podacima jednog laboratorija, koji provodi pokuse iz neutrinske fizike.

Za sada nije jasno zbog čega japanska vlada nije poslušala upozorenja svojih znanstvenika. Ona, naravno, ne bi onemogućila ni potres, ni tsunami, ali bi spasila gotovo sve izgubljene živote i spriječila propast nuklearke. Čini se da je posrijedi bila glupost slavne “akademske zajednice”, kojoj upozorenja istaknutih seizmologa očito nisu bila dovoljno uvjerljiva.

Biagi u toj izjavi podupire prijedlog da i SAD obnovi svoj Nacionalni program za smanjenje opasnosti od potresa, te da se u nj djelatno uključi i NASA. Očito je, naime, da je Sunčeva aktivnost pojačana, a time i opasnost od razornih potresa (utvrđeno je da je jedno u najužoj vezi s drugim). Ozbiljne programe predviđanja potresa za sada imaju samo Japan, Italija, Grčka i Rusija.

Tisuće Japanaca je poginulo, ostalo bez krova nad glavom, a koliko će ih imati posljedice radijacije, još se ne zna /REUTERS

Europa bez programa

Za daljnji napredak u predviđanju potresa potrebno je poslati u svemir nove usavršene nano-satelite. Prvi od njih stajao bi milijun eura, a svaki sljedeći samo 600.000, što je sitniš. Francuska je jedina država koja ima takav satelit i do sada dobiveni podaci su, kaže, Biagi, “zanimljivi”. On i njegovi talijanski suradnici pokušali su pokrenuti takav europski program, ali bez uspjeha. “Vlade više vole neke druge programe, kao što je, recimo, ‘proučavanje parenja polarnih medvjeda’”, rekao je posprdno Biagi.

Japanski seizmolozi uočili su još 1. ožujka znakove velikog potresa, cijelih deset dana prije nego što se on dogodio, ali japanska vlada nije učinila ništa. Nije evakuirala pučanstvo, a reaktore u nuklearki Fukushimi počela je gasiti tek deset minuta prije potresa, pa se oni nisu mogli sigurno ohladiti, što je dovelo do nuklearne katastrofe. Da se poslušalo seizmologe, bili bi spašeni deseci tisuća žrtava velikog tsunamija i ne bi bilo nuklearne katastrofe.

Sve to i još mnogo toga kazao je Talijan Pier Francesco Biagi, profesor fizike na Sveučilištu u Bariju, jedan od vodećih svjetskih stručnjaka za predviđanje potresa na svijetu, američkom časopisu Executive Intelligence Review.

Upozorenje stiglo 1. ožujka

Biagi i talijanski seizmolozi, koji surađuju s drugim istaknutim stručnjacima ove vrste – ponajprije japanskima i ruskima (Masashijem Hayakawom, Olegom A. Molčanovom i drugima) – danas mogu predvidjeti potres deset dana prije nego što se on dogodi, i to s 80 posto točnosti. Istina, epicentar potresa ne mogu točno predvidjeti, ali mogu u krugu od 100 kilometara. Sve su to učinili i japanski stručnjaci još 1. ožujka ove godine, zahvaljujući podacima jednog laboratorija, koji provodi pokuse iz neutrinske fizike.

Za sada nije jasno zbog čega japanska vlada nije poslušala upozorenja svojih znanstvenika. Ona, naravno, ne bi onemogućila ni potres, ni tsunami, ali bi spasila gotovo sve izgubljene živote i spriječila propast nuklearke. Čini se da je posrijedi bila glupost slavne “akademske zajednice”, kojoj upozorenja istaknutih seizmologa očito nisu bila dovoljno uvjerljiva.

Biagi u toj izjavi podupire prijedlog da i SAD obnovi svoj Nacionalni program za smanjenje opasnosti od potresa, te da se u nj djelatno uključi i NASA. Očito je, naime, da je Sunčeva aktivnost pojačana, a time i opasnost od razornih potresa (utvrđeno je da je jedno u najužoj vezi s drugim). Ozbiljne programe predviđanja potresa za sada imaju samo Japan, Italija, Grčka i Rusija.

Europa bez programa

Za daljnji napredak u predviđanju potresa potrebno je poslati u svemir nove usavršene nano-satelite. Prvi od njih stajao bi milijun eura, a svaki sljedeći samo 600.000, što je sitniš. Francuska je jedina država koja ima takav satelit i do sada dobiveni podaci su, kaže, Biagi, “zanimljivi”. On i njegovi talijanski suradnici pokušali su pokrenuti takav europski program, ali bez uspjeha. “Vlade više vole neke druge programe, kao što je, recimo, ‘proučavanje parenja polarnih medvjeda’”, rekao je posprdno Biagi.
