Ekološka katastrofa ne prijeti samo Meksičkom zaljevu, nego i Crvenome moru, jer i ondje, kao i na priobalju SAD-a, zbog kvara na platformi nafta slobodno istječe iz bušotine u more.
Konkretno, istječe iz bušotine udaljene oko 160 kilometara sjeverno od poznatog turističkog centra Hurghada, poznatog po kilometrima dugim bijelim pješčanim plažama i najelitnijim hotelima.
Egipatska vlada je priznala u srijedu da već tjedan dana traje ovo istjecanje nafte. Može se i pretpostaviti zašto je krila ovu vijest – naravno, iz straha za sudbinu turističke sezone u Hurghadi, a vjerojatno i računajući da će se bušotina srediti brzo i da nitko neće ništa primijetiti.
Uzrok nepoznat
Prihodi od turizma, koji se vrlo brzo razvija posljednjih godina, imaju, inače, sve veći udio u bruto domaćem proizvodu ove bliskoistočne zemlje. Nafta, međutim, teče i dalje, iako ne u onim količinama kao u Meksičkom zaljevu, a ni istina se više nije mogla sakriti...
Još uvijek nije objašnjeno što se dogodilo na platformi, odnosno što je dovelo do istjecanja nafte. Nije precizirano ni koliko je nafte dosad isteklo u more. Predstavnici nevladinih egipatskih organizacija demantirali su implicitne tvrdnje vlade da je istjecanje zaustavljeno, iako se čini da je, ipak, smanjeno.
Prema informacijama od ekologa, na obali se mogu vidjeti mrtve ptice i kornjače, crne od nafte. Crveno more je, inače, raj za ronioce jer je diljem svijeta poznato po bogatoj morskoj flori i fauni, posebno koraljnim otocima.
Najugroženiji otoci
U Hurghadi je sada među ostalim turistima i više tisuća Čeha. Njihove turističke agencije javljaju, pozivajući se na svoje ljude i druge izvore iz Hurghade, da je na jugu ovog turističkog centra sve ostalo čisto.
Najviše su istjecanjem nafte pogođeni otoci, na čijim su plažama nagomilane lešine ptica i kornjača.
Prema nekim egipatskim nevladinim izvorima, nafta je bila zaustavljena u četvrtak, i potom očišćena, ali je opet počela istjecati pretprošle noći.

Ekološka katastrofa ne prijeti samo Meksičkom zaljevu, nego i Crvenome moru, jer i ondje, kao i na priobalju SAD-a, zbog kvara na platformi nafta slobodno istječe iz bušotine u more.
Konkretno, istječe iz bušotine udaljene oko 160 kilometara sjeverno od poznatog turističkog centra Hurghada, poznatog po kilometrima dugim bijelim pješčanim plažama i najelitnijim hotelima.
Egipatska vlada je priznala u srijedu da već tjedan dana traje ovo istjecanje nafte. Može se i pretpostaviti zašto je krila ovu vijest – naravno, iz straha za sudbinu turističke sezone u Hurghadi, a vjerojatno i računajući da će se bušotina srediti brzo i da nitko neće ništa primijetiti.
Uzrok nepoznat
Prihodi od turizma, koji se vrlo brzo razvija posljednjih godina, imaju, inače, sve veći udio u bruto domaćem proizvodu ove bliskoistočne zemlje. Nafta, međutim, teče i dalje, iako ne u onim količinama kao u Meksičkom zaljevu, a ni istina se više nije mogla sakriti...
Još uvijek nije objašnjeno što se dogodilo na platformi, odnosno što je dovelo do istjecanja nafte. Nije precizirano ni koliko je nafte dosad isteklo u more. Predstavnici nevladinih egipatskih organizacija demantirali su implicitne tvrdnje vlade da je istjecanje zaustavljeno, iako se čini da je, ipak, smanjeno.
Prema informacijama od ekologa, na obali se mogu vidjeti mrtve ptice i kornjače, crne od nafte. Crveno more je, inače, raj za ronioce jer je diljem svijeta poznato po bogatoj morskoj flori i fauni, posebno koraljnim otocima.
Najugroženiji otoci
U Hurghadi je sada među ostalim turistima i više tisuća Čeha. Njihove turističke agencije javljaju, pozivajući se na svoje ljude i druge izvore iz Hurghade, da je na jugu ovog turističkog centra sve ostalo čisto.
Najviše su istjecanjem nafte pogođeni otoci, na čijim su plažama nagomilane lešine ptica i kornjača.
Prema nekim egipatskim nevladinim izvorima, nafta je bila zaustavljena u četvrtak, i potom očišćena, ali je opet počela istjecati pretprošle noći.
