Sjećam se trudničkog kupaćeg kostima koji je moja mama nosila sredinom osamdesetih. Bio je krojen poput haljinice, kako bi potpuno prekrio trudnički trbuh. Mama je tog ljeta, da budem iskrena, nosila i sasvim običan bikini, ali taj 'čedni' mi je bolje ostao u pamćenju, kao kuriozitet, nešto što je čak i tada bilo pomalo passée. Nekoliko desetljeća kasnije, meni uopće nije padalo napamet skrivati svoj trudnički trbuh: virio mi je ispod majice, sunčao se samnom na plaži, nazirao se ispod uskih haljina. Pojavio se par puta i na društvenim mrežama, nekoliko puta ponosno otkriven, na fotografijama s plaže.

Nikad nisam dobila ružan komentar, ali s druge strane, ja nisam slavna osoba. Za razliku od Ashley Graham, koja je upravo trudna i ponosno to pokazuje. Nekidan je tako objavila svoju obnaženu fotografiju, pokazujući mrežu strija koja joj je prekrila trbuh. Nabacila je neki simpatičan komentar, dobila je pristojnu količinu komentara podrške, a onda su se javili hejteri.

Ništa novo kad je Ashley u pitanju, jer osim što je najpoznatija plus size manekenka, Grahamica se već poprilično dugo i glasno zalaže za važnost prihvaćanja činjenice da to što nečije tijelo odstupa od uobičajenih standarda ljepote ne mora značiti da je manje lijepo i prihvatljivo. Da se izrazim u stilu Elaine iz Seinfelda: Ashley Graham trudna, yadayadaya, ružni komentari. Međutim, ono što je fascinantno u ovoj priči je to što se Ashley ovog puta, pored ostalog, proziva zbog toga što, kao, svoje trudno tijelo ne prezentira na prikladan način.

Hejteri manekenku, a valjda i sve nas koji čitamo, pokušavaju uvjeriti da postoji 'pravi' način na koji bi se trudna žena trebala pojavljivati u javnosti. Nije, pišu joj, 'lijepo' pokazati toliko. Nije, tvrde, lijepo za vidjeti, a nije, smatraju, ni 'u redu' prema njenom suprugu i djeci. Jedan joj je 'naš' napisao doslovno: 'Odvratna si i nemas opce veze sa ljepotom'.

Tom je fotografijom, poručuje jedan ženi koja ima 15,4 milijuna pratitelja na Instagramu, samo pokušala privući pažnju na sebe. Mogla je, piše joj jedna, ipak to malo prekriti. Fotošopom, ručnikom ili kostimićem-haljinicom. Mogla je. Ali nije. Jer nismo u osamdesetima. Što se ipak ne bi moglo reći za one koji pišu ovakve komentare. Oni su iznoseći takav stav pokazali da su zauvijek zapeli u osamdesetima, samo ne 1980-ima nego 1880-ima, kad se 'znalo' gdje je ženi 'mjesto'.

Njihovi su komentari puno ružniji prizor od mreže sasvim prirodnih linija na trudničkom trbuhu žene koju smo ionako navikli gledati u različitim stupnjevima obnaženosti tako da njena fotografija niti po tom pitanju nije ništa osobito novo. Nadajmo se samo da će priče o ružnim komentarima na račun tijela trudne plus size manekenke jednom biti samo sjećanje na vrijeme kad su hejteri vjerovali da je u redu iznositi svaku glupost koja ti padne napamet kad ugledaš fotografiju koju ne smatraš prihvatljivom, kao što je meni onaj smiješni mamin kostim uspomena na jedno vrijeme koje smo, bar neki od nas, po pitanju poimanja ženskog tijela i načina njegovog prezentiranja u javnosti, odavno ostavili iza sebe.

Sjećam se trudničkog kupaćeg kostima koji je moja mama nosila sredinom osamdesetih. Bio je krojen poput haljinice, kako bi potpuno prekrio trudnički trbuh. Mama je tog ljeta, da budem iskrena, nosila i sasvim običan bikini, ali taj 'čedni' mi je bolje ostao u pamćenju, kao kuriozitet, nešto što je čak i tada bilo pomalo passée. Nekoliko desetljeća kasnije, meni uopće nije padalo napamet skrivati svoj trudnički trbuh: virio mi je ispod majice, sunčao se samnom na plaži, nazirao se ispod uskih haljina. Pojavio se par puta i na društvenim mrežama, nekoliko puta ponosno otkriven, na fotografijama s plaže.

Nikad nisam dobila ružan komentar, ali s druge strane, ja nisam slavna osoba. Za razliku od Ashley Graham, koja je upravo trudna i ponosno to pokazuje. Nekidan je tako objavila svoju obnaženu fotografiju, pokazujući mrežu strija koja joj je prekrila trbuh. Nabacila je neki simpatičan komentar, dobila je pristojnu količinu komentara podrške, a onda su se javili hejteri.

Ništa novo kad je Ashley u pitanju, jer osim što je najpoznatija plus size manekenka, Grahamica se već poprilično dugo i glasno zalaže za važnost prihvaćanja činjenice da to što nečije tijelo odstupa od uobičajenih standarda ljepote ne mora značiti da je manje lijepo i prihvatljivo. Da se izrazim u stilu Elaine iz Seinfelda: Ashley Graham trudna, yadayadaya, ružni komentari. Međutim, ono što je fascinantno u ovoj priči je to što se Ashley ovog puta, pored ostalog, proziva zbog toga što, kao, svoje trudno tijelo ne prezentira na prikladan način.

Hejteri manekenku, a valjda i sve nas koji čitamo, pokušavaju uvjeriti da postoji 'pravi' način na koji bi se trudna žena trebala pojavljivati u javnosti. Nije, pišu joj, 'lijepo' pokazati toliko. Nije, tvrde, lijepo za vidjeti, a nije, smatraju, ni 'u redu' prema njenom suprugu i djeci. Jedan joj je 'naš' napisao doslovno: 'Odvratna si i nemas opce veze sa ljepotom'.

Tom je fotografijom, poručuje jedan ženi koja ima 15,4 milijuna pratitelja na Instagramu, samo pokušala privući pažnju na sebe. Mogla je, piše joj jedna, ipak to malo prekriti. Fotošopom, ručnikom ili kostimićem-haljinicom. Mogla je. Ali nije. Jer nismo u osamdesetima. Što se ipak ne bi moglo reći za one koji pišu ovakve komentare. Oni su iznoseći takav stav pokazali da su zauvijek zapeli u osamdesetima, samo ne 1980-ima nego 1880-ima, kad se 'znalo' gdje je ženi 'mjesto'.

Njihovi su komentari puno ružniji prizor od mreže sasvim prirodnih linija na trudničkom trbuhu žene koju smo ionako navikli gledati u različitim stupnjevima obnaženosti tako da njena fotografija niti po tom pitanju nije ništa osobito novo. Nadajmo se samo da će priče o ružnim komentarima na račun tijela trudne plus size manekenke jednom biti samo sjećanje na vrijeme kad su hejteri vjerovali da je u redu iznositi svaku glupost koja ti padne napamet kad ugledaš fotografiju koju ne smatraš prihvatljivom, kao što je meni onaj smiješni mamin kostim uspomena na jedno vrijeme koje smo, bar neki od nas, po pitanju poimanja ženskog tijela i načina njegovog prezentiranja u javnosti, odavno ostavili iza sebe.

Je li Ashley Graham trebala pokazati svoj strijama izbrazdan trudnički trbuh?

Sjećam se trudničkog kupaćeg kostima koji je moja mama nosila sredinom osamdesetih. Bio je krojen poput haljinice, kako bi potpuno prekrio trudnički trbuh. Mama je tog ljeta, da budem iskrena, nosila i sasvim običan bikini, ali taj 'čedni' mi je bolje ostao u pamćenju, kao kuriozitet, nešto što je čak i tada bilo pomalo passée. Nekoliko desetljeća kasnije, meni uopće nije padalo napamet skrivati svoj trudnički trbuh: virio mi je ispod majice, sunčao se samnom na plaži, nazirao se ispod uskih haljina. Pojavio se par puta i na društvenim mrežama, nekoliko puta ponosno otkriven, na fotografijama s plaže.

Nikad nisam dobila ružan komentar, ali s druge strane, ja nisam slavna osoba. Za razliku od Ashley Graham, koja je upravo trudna i ponosno to pokazuje. Nekidan je tako objavila svoju obnaženu fotografiju, pokazujući mrežu strija koja joj je prekrila trbuh. Nabacila je neki simpatičan komentar, dobila je pristojnu količinu komentara podrške, a onda su se javili hejteri.

Ništa novo kad je Ashley u pitanju, jer osim što je najpoznatija plus size manekenka, Grahamica se već poprilično dugo i glasno zalaže za važnost prihvaćanja činjenice da to što nečije tijelo odstupa od uobičajenih standarda ljepote ne mora značiti da je manje lijepo i prihvatljivo. Da se izrazim u stilu Elaine iz Seinfelda: Ashley Graham trudna, yadayadaya, ružni komentari. Međutim, ono što je fascinantno u ovoj priči je to što se Ashley ovog puta, pored ostalog, proziva zbog toga što, kao, svoje trudno tijelo ne prezentira na prikladan način.

Hejteri manekenku, a valjda i sve nas koji čitamo, pokušavaju uvjeriti da postoji 'pravi' način na koji bi se trudna žena trebala pojavljivati u javnosti. Nije, pišu joj, 'lijepo' pokazati toliko. Nije, tvrde, lijepo za vidjeti, a nije, smatraju, ni 'u redu' prema njenom suprugu i djeci. Jedan joj je 'naš' napisao doslovno: 'Odvratna si i nemas opce veze sa ljepotom'.

Tom je fotografijom, poručuje jedan ženi koja ima 15,4 milijuna pratitelja na Instagramu, samo pokušala privući pažnju na sebe. Mogla je, piše joj jedna, ipak to malo prekriti. Fotošopom, ručnikom ili kostimićem-haljinicom. Mogla je. Ali nije. Jer nismo u osamdesetima. Što se ipak ne bi moglo reći za one koji pišu ovakve komentare. Oni su iznoseći takav stav pokazali da su zauvijek zapeli u osamdesetima, samo ne 1980-ima nego 1880-ima, kad se 'znalo' gdje je ženi 'mjesto'.
