Koronavirus će se vratiti i ponovo opasno zaprijetiti javnom zdravlju kad se ukinu mjere socijalnog distanciranja pa će one vjerojatno biti potrebne do 2022. godine, objavili su znanstvenici s Harvarda. 

Njihova studija objavljena je u vrijeme kad nekoliko europskih i šest američkih saveznih država razmatra djelomično ukidanje mjera i ponovno pokretanje gospodarstava. 

Računalna simulacija koju su objavili u časopisu Science predviđa da će covid-19 postati sezonska bolest, poput srodnih koronavirusa koji izazvaju običnu prehladu i da će transmisija biti ćešća u zimskim mjesecima. 

"Predviđanje da će pandemija završiti ovo ljeto nije u skladu s onim što zasad znamo", rekao je jedan od autora Marc Lipstich.
Ali mnogo toga je još nepoznato, uključujući i to kakvu razinu imunološke zaštite imaju oni koji su bolest preboljeli i koliko dugo ona traje, napisali su autori. 

S obzirom na mnoge nepoznanice, kako bi procijenili buduće širenje virusa znanstvenici su modelirali različite procjene stečenog imuniteta, koliko će infekcija jenjati u toplijim mjesecima i razine socijalnog distanciranja. 

Po svim simulacijama, uključujući jednokratno socijalno izoliranje i povremeno socijalno distanciranje, zaraza je ponovo buknula nakon što su ukinute restrikcije.

Posebno velik val bolesti vratio se zimi, uzorak koji je već viđen za pandemije španjolske gripe 1918. kada je zaražena četvrtina svjetskog stanovništva, a umrlo je 100 milijuna ljudi. 

Model je prikazao i posljedice preduge izolacije. Razdoblje od 20 tjedana socijalne izolacije i ekonomskog zatvaranja bio je toliko učinkovit u suzbijanju virusa "da u populaciji nije razvijen gotovo nikakav imunitet", a to je zauzvrat u idućem valu bolesti opet izazvalo preopterećenje odjela intenzivne njege, bolnica i zdravstvenog sustava. 

Jedno je sigurno, virus je došao kako bi ostao. Malo je vjerojatno da će razina kolektivnog imuniteta biti dovoljno rasprostranjena i jaka da covid-19 'izumre' nakon prvog vala, kao što se dogodilo sa SARS-om 2003.

Nekoliko javnozdravstvenih mjera može se poduzeti kako bi se poboljšala prognoza, navode znanstvenici. To uključuje više dijagnostičkog testiranja, rigorozno praćenje kontakata oboljelih, širenje kapaciteta na odjelima intenzivnog liječenja, precizno testiranje na antitijela, pronalaženje učinkovitijih metoda liječenja i najveća nada - cjepivo. 

"Ne zauzimamo stajalište o prihvatljivosti pojedinog scenarija s obzirom na ekonomski teret koje socijalno distanciranje donosi", zaključili su znanstvenici. "Ali naglašavamo potencijalno katastrofalan teret na zdravstveni sustav ako mjere distanciranja budu neučinkovite ili ako ne budu na snazi dovoljno dugo".

Koronavirus će se vratiti i ponovo opasno zaprijetiti javnom zdravlju kad se ukinu mjere socijalnog distanciranja pa će one vjerojatno biti potrebne do 2022. godine, objavili su znanstvenici s Harvarda. 

Njihova studija objavljena je u vrijeme kad nekoliko europskih i šest američkih saveznih država razmatra djelomično ukidanje mjera i ponovno pokretanje gospodarstava. 

Računalna simulacija koju su objavili u časopisu Science predviđa da će covid-19 postati sezonska bolest, poput srodnih koronavirusa koji izazvaju običnu prehladu i da će transmisija biti ćešća u zimskim mjesecima. 

"Predviđanje da će pandemija završiti ovo ljeto nije u skladu s onim što zasad znamo", rekao je jedan od autora Marc Lipstich.
Ali mnogo toga je još nepoznato, uključujući i to kakvu razinu imunološke zaštite imaju oni koji su bolest preboljeli i koliko dugo ona traje, napisali su autori. 

S obzirom na mnoge nepoznanice, kako bi procijenili buduće širenje virusa znanstvenici su modelirali različite procjene stečenog imuniteta, koliko će infekcija jenjati u toplijim mjesecima i razine socijalnog distanciranja. 

Po svim simulacijama, uključujući jednokratno socijalno izoliranje i povremeno socijalno distanciranje, zaraza je ponovo buknula nakon što su ukinute restrikcije.

Posebno velik val bolesti vratio se zimi, uzorak koji je već viđen za pandemije španjolske gripe 1918. kada je zaražena četvrtina svjetskog stanovništva, a umrlo je 100 milijuna ljudi. 

Model je prikazao i posljedice preduge izolacije. Razdoblje od 20 tjedana socijalne izolacije i ekonomskog zatvaranja bio je toliko učinkovit u suzbijanju virusa "da u populaciji nije razvijen gotovo nikakav imunitet", a to je zauzvrat u idućem valu bolesti opet izazvalo preopterećenje odjela intenzivne njege, bolnica i zdravstvenog sustava. 

Jedno je sigurno, virus je došao kako bi ostao. Malo je vjerojatno da će razina kolektivnog imuniteta biti dovoljno rasprostranjena i jaka da covid-19 'izumre' nakon prvog vala, kao što se dogodilo sa SARS-om 2003.

Nekoliko javnozdravstvenih mjera može se poduzeti kako bi se poboljšala prognoza, navode znanstvenici. To uključuje više dijagnostičkog testiranja, rigorozno praćenje kontakata oboljelih, širenje kapaciteta na odjelima intenzivnog liječenja, precizno testiranje na antitijela, pronalaženje učinkovitijih metoda liječenja i najveća nada - cjepivo. 

"Ne zauzimamo stajalište o prihvatljivosti pojedinog scenarija s obzirom na ekonomski teret koje socijalno distanciranje donosi", zaključili su znanstvenici. "Ali naglašavamo potencijalno katastrofalan teret na zdravstveni sustav ako mjere distanciranja budu neučinkovite ili ako ne budu na snazi dovoljno dugo".

Znanstvenici: Ne vjerujemo da će pandemija završiti na ljeto, vratit će se i ponovo opasno zaprijetiti. Mjere distanciranja bit će potrebne do 2022.

Koronavirus će se vratiti i ponovo opasno zaprijetiti javnom zdravlju kad se ukinu mjere socijalnog distanciranja pa će one vjerojatno biti potrebne do 2022. godine, objavili su znanstvenici s Harvarda. 

Njihova studija objavljena je u vrijeme kad nekoliko europskih i šest američkih saveznih država razmatra djelomično ukidanje mjera i ponovno pokretanje gospodarstava. 

Računalna simulacija koju su objavili u časopisu Science predviđa da će covid-19 postati sezonska bolest, poput srodnih koronavirusa koji izazvaju običnu prehladu i da će transmisija biti ćešća u zimskim mjesecima. 

"Predviđanje da će pandemija završiti ovo ljeto nije u skladu s onim što zasad znamo", rekao je jedan od autora Marc Lipstich.
Ali mnogo toga je još nepoznato, uključujući i to kakvu razinu imunološke zaštite imaju oni koji su bolest preboljeli i koliko dugo ona traje, napisali su autori. 

S obzirom na mnoge nepoznanice, kako bi procijenili buduće širenje virusa znanstvenici su modelirali različite procjene stečenog imuniteta, koliko će infekcija jenjati u toplijim mjesecima i razine socijalnog distanciranja. 

Po svim simulacijama, uključujući jednokratno socijalno izoliranje i povremeno socijalno distanciranje, zaraza je ponovo buknula nakon što su ukinute restrikcije.

Posebno velik val bolesti vratio se zimi, uzorak koji je već viđen za pandemije španjolske gripe 1918. kada je zaražena četvrtina svjetskog stanovništva, a umrlo je 100 milijuna ljudi. 

Model je prikazao i posljedice preduge izolacije. Razdoblje od 20 tjedana socijalne izolacije i ekonomskog zatvaranja bio je toliko učinkovit u suzbijanju virusa "da u populaciji nije razvijen gotovo nikakav imunitet", a to je zauzvrat u idućem valu bolesti opet izazvalo preopterećenje odjela intenzivne njege, bolnica i zdravstvenog sustava. 

Jedno je sigurno, virus je došao kako bi ostao. Malo je vjerojatno da će razina kolektivnog imuniteta biti dovoljno rasprostranjena i jaka da covid-19 'izumre' nakon prvog vala, kao što se dogodilo sa SARS-om 2003.

Nekoliko javnozdravstvenih mjera može se poduzeti kako bi se poboljšala prognoza, navode znanstvenici. To uključuje više dijagnostičkog testiranja, rigorozno praćenje kontakata oboljelih, širenje kapaciteta na odjelima intenzivnog liječenja, precizno testiranje na antitijela, pronalaženje učinkovitijih metoda liječenja i najveća nada - cjepivo. 

"Ne zauzimamo stajalište o prihvatljivosti pojedinog scenarija s obzirom na ekonomski teret koje socijalno distanciranje donosi", zaključili su znanstvenici. "Ali naglašavamo potencijalno katastrofalan teret na zdravstveni sustav ako mjere distanciranja budu neučinkovite ili ako ne budu na snazi dovoljno dugo".
