Proslava Valentinova na grčkom otoku Lezbosu, na kojem se čuvaju navodne relikvije sv. Valentina, izazvala je novi spor između tamošnjih pravoslavaca i katolika, prenijela je u nedjelju grčka novinska agencija Ana.
Pravoslavni svećenik Athanassios Yousmas iz Mitilene, glavnog grada otoka, "oštro je prosvjedovao" u ime svojih župljana protiv proslave u pismu gradskim vlastima.
Zaprijetio je da će se obratiti sudu kako se njegovu crkvu, čija je kupola simbol grada, ne bi više prikazivalo na plakatima kojima se ljude poziva na proslavu.
"Mi smo braća i tijekom stoljeća smo se 'svađali', ali naša kršćanska dužnost je da se pomirimo", odgovorio je u otvorenom pismu vođa mjesnih katolika, Leon Kiskinis.
Pripisujući nezadovoljstvo pravoslavaca "nekolicini ograničenih fundamentalista", on je istaknuo da je sv. Valentin, svećenik i biskup talijanskog grada Ternija iz 3. stoljeća, priznat mučenikom prije crkvenog raskola na katolike i pravoslavce.
Proslave Dana sv. Valentina počele su na Lezbosu 2015., nakon što su na otok vraćene njegove navodne relikvije, koje se čuvaju u katoličkoj crkvi Uznesenja Marijina.
Svečanosti, koje uključuju natjecanje u pjevanju i ljubavnim pjesmama, završit će u utorak procesijom.

Proslava Valentinova na grčkom otoku Lezbosu, na kojem se čuvaju navodne relikvije sv. Valentina, izazvala je novi spor između tamošnjih pravoslavaca i katolika, prenijela je u nedjelju grčka novinska agencija Ana.
Pravoslavni svećenik Athanassios Yousmas iz Mitilene, glavnog grada otoka, "oštro je prosvjedovao" u ime svojih župljana protiv proslave u pismu gradskim vlastima.
Zaprijetio je da će se obratiti sudu kako se njegovu crkvu, čija je kupola simbol grada, ne bi više prikazivalo na plakatima kojima se ljude poziva na proslavu.
"Mi smo braća i tijekom stoljeća smo se 'svađali', ali naša kršćanska dužnost je da se pomirimo", odgovorio je u otvorenom pismu vođa mjesnih katolika, Leon Kiskinis.
Pripisujući nezadovoljstvo pravoslavaca "nekolicini ograničenih fundamentalista", on je istaknuo da je sv. Valentin, svećenik i biskup talijanskog grada Ternija iz 3. stoljeća, priznat mučenikom prije crkvenog raskola na katolike i pravoslavce.
Proslave Dana sv. Valentina počele su na Lezbosu 2015., nakon što su na otok vraćene njegove navodne relikvije, koje se čuvaju u katoličkoj crkvi Uznesenja Marijina.
Svečanosti, koje uključuju natjecanje u pjevanju i ljubavnim pjesmama, završit će u utorak procesijom.
