Nakon što je u prosincu sud odlučio da je južnokorejska kompanija Polaris Shipping kriva zbog zanemarivanja održavanja broda što je uzrokovalo potonuće VLOC-a Stellar Daisy i smrt 22 pomorca, izvršni je direktor kompanije osuđen na kaznu zatvora u trajanju od tri godine, prenosi pomorac.hr.

Sud je donio odluku da se radilo o profesionalnom nemaru direktora pri potonuću Stellar Daisy, preuređenog broda za prijevoz rudače, koji je potonuo u južnom Atlantiku u ožujku 2017. godine, piše Splash247.

Sud je donio presudu da tuženik nije pravodobno popravio brod, već je dao prednost profitu ispred sigurnosti. Kao uzrok brzog potonuća broda Stellar Daisy, navedeni su strukturni nedostatci koji su rezultat zanemarivanja održavanja trupa i loših popravaka.

Divovski Stellar Daisy, izgrađen 1993. godine, jedna je od najistaknutijih brodskih nesreća ovog stoljeća, a obitelji ožalošćenih su vodili brojne pravne bitke kako bi utvrdili što se dogodilo – zbog čega se prevrnuo i potonuo tako brzo, u samo pet minuta. Preživjelo je samo dvoje od 24 člana posade.

Tribunal je prošlog mjeseca izvještavao da je Polaris Shipping ugradio neovlašteni uređaj za skladištenje otpadnih voda na dno broda i da nije pregledao niti ojačao brodski trup, navodi Splash247.

Brodarska tvrtka trebala je obaviti popravke kako bi sigurno ukrcala teret, ali je umjesto toga pustila brod da isplovi, rekao je sud.

U brod je počela prodirati voda i vrlo brzo se prepolovio. Nekoliko dana kasnije još jedan prenamijenjeni brod za prijevoz rudače izgrađen 1993. koji je pripadao Polarisu, morao je preusmjeriti rutu za Cape Town na popravak nakon što je otkrivena pukotina na trupu.

To je potaknulo kompaniju da pokrene hitne inspekcije za cijelu flotu, što je zauzvrat pokazalo da je preinačeni brod za prijevoz rudače izgrađen 1992. također otišao u Cape Town na popravak, a u godinama koje su uslijedile svi stari preinačeni brodovi su rasprodani.

VLOC-ovi su u prethodnim desetljećima pretvoreni iz vrlo velikih brodova za prijevoz sirove nafte s jednim trupom, kao rezultat superciklusa za suhi rasuti teret i uredbe IMO-a koja je nalagala da se svi tankeri s jednim trupom postupno ukinu do 2010. godine.

Uz jeftinu i zastarjelu tonažu tankera na tržištu, ulagači su ugledali priliku za pretvorbu brodova u VLOC-ove i njihovo korištenje na temelju dugoročnih ugovora o utovaru, često u trajanju od 10 godina.

Polaris je jedan od najvećih svjetskih operatera newcastlemaxa i vrlo velikih brodova za prijevoz rudače, s flotom od 19 divovskih bulkera. Brokerski izvori kažu za Splash da je tvrtka u posljednjih nekoliko dana dovršila najveći kupoprodajni posao ove godine.

Četiri newcastlemaxa proizvedena u Kini za razdoblje od 2020. do 2021. godine, Solar Quantum, Solar Pride, Solar Nova i Solar Oak, stavljena su na prodaju prošli tjedan s višestrukim ponudama.

Splash saznaje da su brodovi prodani neimenovanom grčkom vlasniku koji je platio oko 65 milijuna dolara po brodu.

Nakon što je u prosincu sud odlučio da je južnokorejska kompanija Polaris Shipping kriva zbog zanemarivanja održavanja broda što je uzrokovalo potonuće VLOC-a Stellar Daisy i smrt 22 pomorca, izvršni je direktor kompanije osuđen na kaznu zatvora u trajanju od tri godine, prenosi pomorac.hr.

Sud je donio odluku da se radilo o profesionalnom nemaru direktora pri potonuću Stellar Daisy, preuređenog broda za prijevoz rudače, koji je potonuo u južnom Atlantiku u ožujku 2017. godine, piše Splash247.

Sud je donio presudu da tuženik nije pravodobno popravio brod, već je dao prednost profitu ispred sigurnosti. Kao uzrok brzog potonuća broda Stellar Daisy, navedeni su strukturni nedostatci koji su rezultat zanemarivanja održavanja trupa i loših popravaka.

Divovski Stellar Daisy, izgrađen 1993. godine, jedna je od najistaknutijih brodskih nesreća ovog stoljeća, a obitelji ožalošćenih su vodili brojne pravne bitke kako bi utvrdili što se dogodilo – zbog čega se prevrnuo i potonuo tako brzo, u samo pet minuta. Preživjelo je samo dvoje od 24 člana posade.

Tribunal je prošlog mjeseca izvještavao da je Polaris Shipping ugradio neovlašteni uređaj za skladištenje otpadnih voda na dno broda i da nije pregledao niti ojačao brodski trup, navodi Splash247.

Brodarska tvrtka trebala je obaviti popravke kako bi sigurno ukrcala teret, ali je umjesto toga pustila brod da isplovi, rekao je sud.

U brod je počela prodirati voda i vrlo brzo se prepolovio. Nekoliko dana kasnije još jedan prenamijenjeni brod za prijevoz rudače izgrađen 1993. koji je pripadao Polarisu, morao je preusmjeriti rutu za Cape Town na popravak nakon što je otkrivena pukotina na trupu.

To je potaknulo kompaniju da pokrene hitne inspekcije za cijelu flotu, što je zauzvrat pokazalo da je preinačeni brod za prijevoz rudače izgrađen 1992. također otišao u Cape Town na popravak, a u godinama koje su uslijedile svi stari preinačeni brodovi su rasprodani.

VLOC-ovi su u prethodnim desetljećima pretvoreni iz vrlo velikih brodova za prijevoz sirove nafte s jednim trupom, kao rezultat superciklusa za suhi rasuti teret i uredbe IMO-a koja je nalagala da se svi tankeri s jednim trupom postupno ukinu do 2010. godine.

Uz jeftinu i zastarjelu tonažu tankera na tržištu, ulagači su ugledali priliku za pretvorbu brodova u VLOC-ove i njihovo korištenje na temelju dugoročnih ugovora o utovaru, često u trajanju od 10 godina.

Polaris je jedan od najvećih svjetskih operatera newcastlemaxa i vrlo velikih brodova za prijevoz rudače, s flotom od 19 divovskih bulkera. Brokerski izvori kažu za Splash da je tvrtka u posljednjih nekoliko dana dovršila najveći kupoprodajni posao ove godine.

Četiri newcastlemaxa proizvedena u Kini za razdoblje od 2020. do 2021. godine, Solar Quantum, Solar Pride, Solar Nova i Solar Oak, stavljena su na prodaju prošli tjedan s višestrukim ponudama.

Splash saznaje da su brodovi prodani neimenovanom grčkom vlasniku koji je platio oko 65 milijuna dolara po brodu.

Nakon što je u prosincu sud odlučio da je južnokorejska kompanija Polaris Shipping kriva zbog zanemarivanja održavanja broda što je uzrokovalo potonuće VLOC-a Stellar Daisy i smrt 22 pomorca, izvršni je direktor kompanije osuđen na kaznu zatvora u trajanju od tri godine, prenosi pomorac.hr.

Sud je donio odluku da se radilo o profesionalnom nemaru direktora pri potonuću Stellar Daisy, preuređenog broda za prijevoz rudače, koji je potonuo u južnom Atlantiku u ožujku 2017. godine, piše Splash247.

Sud je donio presudu da tuženik nije pravodobno popravio brod, već je dao prednost profitu ispred sigurnosti. Kao uzrok brzog potonuća broda Stellar Daisy, navedeni su strukturni nedostatci koji su rezultat zanemarivanja održavanja trupa i loših popravaka.
