Požar na teretnom brodu koji je prevozio tisuće luksuznih automobila i plutao uz obalu portugalskih Azora izgubio je svoj intenzitet, vjerojatno zato što je ostalo malo toga za izgorjeti, rekao je dužnosnik lučke kapetanije.

Brod Felicity Ace, koji je prevozio oko četiri tisuće vozila uključujući automobile marke Porsche, Audi i Bentley, od kojih su neki bili električni s litij-ionskim baterijama, zapalio se usred Atlantskog oceana u srijedu.

Svih 22 članova posade evakuirano je istoga dana.

"Vatra je utihnula posljednjih sati", rekao je za novinsku agenciju Lusa kapetan najbliže luke na azorskom otoku Faialu Joao Mendes Cabeças.

Istaknuo je kako je vjerojatno ostalo malo zapaljivog materijala.

Cabeças je ranije kazao za Reuters da litij-ionske baterije u električnim vozilima "održavaju požar", dodajući kako je potrebna posebna oprema za njegovo gašenje. Za sada nije jasno jesu li baterije uzrok požara.

Lučki kapetan je kazao da se požar približava spremnicima za gorivo.

"Brinemo se zbog zagađenja jer brod ima velike količine goriva i automobilske baterije, ali za sada ne postoje žarišta zagađenja", kazao je Cabeças za Lusu.

Kako intenzitet požara opada, vatrogasni timovi i tehničari mogli bi se ukrcati na brod kako bi se pripremili za usmjeravanje broda prema Europi ili Bahamima, rekao je Cabeças.

Volkswagen, čiji su automobili bili na brodu, nije potvrdio koliko je ukupno automobila bilo na palubi, a u petak je priopćio samo da čeka dodatne informacije.

Požar na teretnom brodu koji je prevozio tisuće luksuznih automobila i plutao uz obalu portugalskih Azora izgubio je svoj intenzitet, vjerojatno zato što je ostalo malo toga za izgorjeti, rekao je dužnosnik lučke kapetanije.

Brod Felicity Ace, koji je prevozio oko četiri tisuće vozila uključujući automobile marke Porsche, Audi i Bentley, od kojih su neki bili električni s litij-ionskim baterijama, zapalio se usred Atlantskog oceana u srijedu.

Svih 22 članova posade evakuirano je istoga dana.

"Vatra je utihnula posljednjih sati", rekao je za novinsku agenciju Lusa kapetan najbliže luke na azorskom otoku Faialu Joao Mendes Cabeças.

Istaknuo je kako je vjerojatno ostalo malo zapaljivog materijala.

Cabeças je ranije kazao za Reuters da litij-ionske baterije u električnim vozilima "održavaju požar", dodajući kako je potrebna posebna oprema za njegovo gašenje. Za sada nije jasno jesu li baterije uzrok požara.

Lučki kapetan je kazao da se požar približava spremnicima za gorivo.

"Brinemo se zbog zagađenja jer brod ima velike količine goriva i automobilske baterije, ali za sada ne postoje žarišta zagađenja", kazao je Cabeças za Lusu.

Kako intenzitet požara opada, vatrogasni timovi i tehničari mogli bi se ukrcati na brod kako bi se pripremili za usmjeravanje broda prema Europi ili Bahamima, rekao je Cabeças.

Volkswagen, čiji su automobili bili na brodu, nije potvrdio koliko je ukupno automobila bilo na palubi, a u petak je priopćio samo da čeka dodatne informacije.

Požar na teretnom brodu koji je prevozio tisuće luksuznih automobila i plutao uz obalu portugalskih Azora izgubio je svoj intenzitet, vjerojatno zato što je ostalo malo toga za izgorjeti, rekao je dužnosnik lučke kapetanije.

Brod Felicity Ace, koji je prevozio oko četiri tisuće vozila uključujući automobile marke Porsche, Audi i Bentley, od kojih su neki bili električni s litij-ionskim baterijama, zapalio se usred Atlantskog oceana u srijedu.

Svih 22 članova posade evakuirano je istoga dana.

"Vatra je utihnula posljednjih sati", rekao je za novinsku agenciju Lusa kapetan najbliže luke na azorskom otoku Faialu Joao Mendes Cabeças.

Istaknuo je kako je vjerojatno ostalo malo zapaljivog materijala.

Cabeças je ranije kazao za Reuters da litij-ionske baterije u električnim vozilima "održavaju požar", dodajući kako je potrebna posebna oprema za njegovo gašenje. Za sada nije jasno jesu li baterije uzrok požara.

Lučki kapetan je kazao da se požar približava spremnicima za gorivo.

"Brinemo se zbog zagađenja jer brod ima velike količine goriva i automobilske baterije, ali za sada ne postoje žarišta zagađenja", kazao je Cabeças za Lusu.

Kako intenzitet požara opada, vatrogasni timovi i tehničari mogli bi se ukrcati na brod kako bi se pripremili za usmjeravanje broda prema Europi ili Bahamima, rekao je Cabeças.

Volkswagen, čiji su automobili bili na brodu, nije potvrdio koliko je ukupno automobila bilo na palubi, a u petak je priopćio samo da čeka dodatne informacije.
