Opća komisija za ribarstvo na Sredozemlju, koja je na svojoj 45. sjednici u Tirani okupila brojne predstavnike sektora ribarstva, u središte je diskusije stavila nužnost pozitivnog trenda za riblje stokove Sredozemnog mora i novih mjera za borbu protiv ilegalnog i nereguliranog ribolova (IUU ribolov).

U svjetlu relativno pozitivnog trenda ribljih stokova u Sredozemnom moru, s 23 stoka koji pokazuju znakove poboljšanja, svjetska organizacija za zaštitu prirode WWF pozdravlja 18 preporuka i tri rezolucije koje su odobrile sredozemne zemlje i EU, a koje će dugoročno snažno doprinijeti oporavku ribljeg fonda. Dok se neke vrste riba polako oporavljaju od pretjeranog izlova, druge su konzumne vrste poput oslića, još uvijek kronično ugrožene. Tako je donesena nova zabrana ribolova kritično ugrožene europske jegulje kao odgovor na alarmantnu situaciju stoka. WWF je također posebno podržao nove mjere usvojene za borbu protiv IUU ribolova, zabranu prekrcaja na moru i bolju regulaciju operacija prekrcaja u određenim lukama i mjestima iskrcaja.

"Prijenos ilegalno ulovljene ribe koji se odvija na otvorenom moru velik je problem koji dopušta neodrživim proizvodima iz ribarstva da dođu do naših luka i uđu na naša tržišta. Napori Komisije da se regulira prekrcaj na moru i provode redovitije i dugoročne inspekcije hvale su vrijedni!, ističe Mosor Prvan iz WWF Adrije, delegat WWF-a pri Komisiji.

WWF podržava i odobrenje višegodišnjih planova upravljanja za crvene kozice (dubinske kozice), svijetlocrvene kozice i pridnene ribe (uključujući oslića i oradu), čijim usvajanjem se osigurava dugoročno upravljanje nekim od komercijalno najvrjednijih ribljih zaliha u Sredozemnom moru.

Budući da se 2022. godine obilježava Međunarodna godina priobalnog ribolova (IYAFA), Komisija je obnovila svoju predanost Regionalnom akcijskom planu za priobalni ribolov (RPOA-SSF) što znači daljnji fokus na rast održivosti, ali i rast sigurnosti poslovanja priobalnih ribara.

"Zemlje Sredozemlja i EU ponovno su potvrdile svoju predanost u poticanju provedbe mjera i ulaganja u korist priobalnog ribarstva, na način da daju glas ribarima kada se donose odluke koje utječu na njihovu egzistenciju. WWF radi s priobalnim ribarima diljem Sredozemnog mora kako bi razvio nove pristupe koji mogu uspješno transformirati sektor prema održivijem korištenju morskih resursa. Sada su nam potrebna veća ulaganja i prave politike kako bismo održali ribarske zajednice živima, povećali vrijednost proizvodima iz ribarstva i oporavili naše more," zaključuje Prvan.

Opća komisija za ribarstvo na Sredozemlju, koja je na svojoj 45. sjednici u Tirani okupila brojne predstavnike sektora ribarstva, u središte je diskusije stavila nužnost pozitivnog trenda za riblje stokove Sredozemnog mora i novih mjera za borbu protiv ilegalnog i nereguliranog ribolova (IUU ribolov).

U svjetlu relativno pozitivnog trenda ribljih stokova u Sredozemnom moru, s 23 stoka koji pokazuju znakove poboljšanja, svjetska organizacija za zaštitu prirode WWF pozdravlja 18 preporuka i tri rezolucije koje su odobrile sredozemne zemlje i EU, a koje će dugoročno snažno doprinijeti oporavku ribljeg fonda. Dok se neke vrste riba polako oporavljaju od pretjeranog izlova, druge su konzumne vrste poput oslića, još uvijek kronično ugrožene. Tako je donesena nova zabrana ribolova kritično ugrožene europske jegulje kao odgovor na alarmantnu situaciju stoka. WWF je također posebno podržao nove mjere usvojene za borbu protiv IUU ribolova, zabranu prekrcaja na moru i bolju regulaciju operacija prekrcaja u određenim lukama i mjestima iskrcaja.

"Prijenos ilegalno ulovljene ribe koji se odvija na otvorenom moru velik je problem koji dopušta neodrživim proizvodima iz ribarstva da dođu do naših luka i uđu na naša tržišta. Napori Komisije da se regulira prekrcaj na moru i provode redovitije i dugoročne inspekcije hvale su vrijedni!, ističe Mosor Prvan iz WWF Adrije, delegat WWF-a pri Komisiji.

WWF podržava i odobrenje višegodišnjih planova upravljanja za crvene kozice (dubinske kozice), svijetlocrvene kozice i pridnene ribe (uključujući oslića i oradu), čijim usvajanjem se osigurava dugoročno upravljanje nekim od komercijalno najvrjednijih ribljih zaliha u Sredozemnom moru.

Budući da se 2022. godine obilježava Međunarodna godina priobalnog ribolova (IYAFA), Komisija je obnovila svoju predanost Regionalnom akcijskom planu za priobalni ribolov (RPOA-SSF) što znači daljnji fokus na rast održivosti, ali i rast sigurnosti poslovanja priobalnih ribara.

"Zemlje Sredozemlja i EU ponovno su potvrdile svoju predanost u poticanju provedbe mjera i ulaganja u korist priobalnog ribarstva, na način da daju glas ribarima kada se donose odluke koje utječu na njihovu egzistenciju. WWF radi s priobalnim ribarima diljem Sredozemnog mora kako bi razvio nove pristupe koji mogu uspješno transformirati sektor prema održivijem korištenju morskih resursa. Sada su nam potrebna veća ulaganja i prave politike kako bismo održali ribarske zajednice živima, povećali vrijednost proizvodima iz ribarstva i oporavili naše more," zaključuje Prvan.

Opća komisija za ribarstvo na Sredozemlju, koja je na svojoj 45. sjednici u Tirani okupila brojne predstavnike sektora ribarstva, u središte je diskusije stavila nužnost pozitivnog trenda za riblje stokove Sredozemnog mora i novih mjera za borbu protiv ilegalnog i nereguliranog ribolova (IUU ribolov).

U svjetlu relativno pozitivnog trenda ribljih stokova u Sredozemnom moru, s 23 stoka koji pokazuju znakove poboljšanja, svjetska organizacija za zaštitu prirode WWF pozdravlja 18 preporuka i tri rezolucije koje su odobrile sredozemne zemlje i EU, a koje će dugoročno snažno doprinijeti oporavku ribljeg fonda. Dok se neke vrste riba polako oporavljaju od pretjeranog izlova, druge su konzumne vrste poput oslića, još uvijek kronično ugrožene. Tako je donesena nova zabrana ribolova kritično ugrožene europske jegulje kao odgovor na alarmantnu situaciju stoka. WWF je također posebno podržao nove mjere usvojene za borbu protiv IUU ribolova, zabranu prekrcaja na moru i bolju regulaciju operacija prekrcaja u određenim lukama i mjestima iskrcaja.
