Na Prirodoslovno-matematičkom fakultetu Split ovog petka u 12.15 sati održat će se predstavljanje interdisciplinarnog projekta "Utjecaj valova vezanih uz otok na primarnu produkciju - ISLAND". Predavačica je izv. prof. dr. sc. Zrinka Ljubešić - s Botaničkog zavoda Biološkog odsjeka PMF-a Sveučilišta u Zagrebu.

- Valovi vezani uz otok (engl: Island-trapped waves ITWs) su značajan oceanografski fenomen, zabilježen na svega nekoliko lokacija na svijetu uključujući otok Lastovo u Jadranskom moru.

U sklopu projekta ISLAND ispitujemo utjecaj ITW-a na primarnu produkciju. Naša hipoteza je da su ITW glavni pokretač primarne produkcije u vrijeme stratifikacije u oligotrofnom sustavu Lastovskog arhipelaga. Kroz intenzivna terenska istraživanja povezujemo fizikalno-kemijske procese u eufotičkom sloju vodenog stupca sa primarnom produkcijom, određujemo sastav primarnih i sekundarnih producenata, te definiramo fizikalno-kemijske procese koji prethode ekstremnim događajima, primjerice masovnim izumiranjima u bentosu - sažetak je predavanja

Dosad dostupni podaci ukazivali su da su unutarnji valovi, zbog čestih i izraženih epizoda obalne cirkulacije, najizraženiji u srpnju. Na osnovu toga, prvo terensko istraživanje provedeno je u srpnju 2021. godine. Međutim najizraženiji unutarnji valovi su se počeli generirati pred kraj terena, kad je istraživačka grupa već završavala predviđeni rad, te, unatoč velikom terenskom naporu, nije postignut željeni rezultat.

- U srpnju 2022. godine smo ponovili terenska istraživanja, s većim brojem istraživača, dodatnim senzorima i što je najvažnije, dodatnim real-time meteo-oceanografskim prognozama temeljenima na modelima visoke rezolucije.

Naši istraživači u Zagrebu i Splitu su svakodnevno radili na prognozama i njihovoj interpretaciji, te su istraživačima na terenu svako jutro davali smjernice za daljnje istraživanje. Prognoze su izdavane za smjer i brzinu vjetra, površinske valove uzrokovane vjetrom te unutarnje valove tijekom narednih 5 dana. Takav interdisciplinarni način rada, kojim su fizičari optimizirali uzorkovanje i mjerenje kemijskih i bioloških parametara po prvi put je proveden u Jadranu, te je rezultirao bitno boljim rezultatima od onih iz srpnja prethodne godine - naveli su istraživači.

Predavačica Ljubešić zaposlena je na Botaničkom zavodu Biološkog odsjeka PMF-a Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, gdje je magistrirala 2003., te doktorirala 2007. godine. Područje njenog rada je biološka oceanografija s naglaskom na taksonomiju, i ekologija fitoplanktona mora.

Istraživanja Zrinke Ljubešić su većinom provedena na Jadranskom moru, s posebnim naglaskom na specifična staništa poput visokostratificiranih krških estuarija, morskih jezera te izoliranih područja pod intenzivnim utjecajem kopna. Posebno treba naglasiti interdisciplinarnost njenih istraživanja te suradnju s drugim uglednim nacionalnim i međunarodnim institucijama, te sudjelovanje na četiri međunarodne istraživačke ekspedicije u Jadranu i Pacifiku.

Voditeljica je istraživačkog projekta HRZZ-a "Utjecaj valova vezanih uz otok na primarnu produkciju".

Na Prirodoslovno-matematičkom fakultetu Split ovog petka u 12.15 sati održat će se predstavljanje interdisciplinarnog projekta "Utjecaj valova vezanih uz otok na primarnu produkciju - ISLAND". Predavačica je izv. prof. dr. sc. Zrinka Ljubešić - s Botaničkog zavoda Biološkog odsjeka PMF-a Sveučilišta u Zagrebu.

- Valovi vezani uz otok (engl: Island-trapped waves ITWs) su značajan oceanografski fenomen, zabilježen na svega nekoliko lokacija na svijetu uključujući otok Lastovo u Jadranskom moru.

U sklopu projekta ISLAND ispitujemo utjecaj ITW-a na primarnu produkciju. Naša hipoteza je da su ITW glavni pokretač primarne produkcije u vrijeme stratifikacije u oligotrofnom sustavu Lastovskog arhipelaga. Kroz intenzivna terenska istraživanja povezujemo fizikalno-kemijske procese u eufotičkom sloju vodenog stupca sa primarnom produkcijom, određujemo sastav primarnih i sekundarnih producenata, te definiramo fizikalno-kemijske procese koji prethode ekstremnim događajima, primjerice masovnim izumiranjima u bentosu - sažetak je predavanja

Dosad dostupni podaci ukazivali su da su unutarnji valovi, zbog čestih i izraženih epizoda obalne cirkulacije, najizraženiji u srpnju. Na osnovu toga, prvo terensko istraživanje provedeno je u srpnju 2021. godine. Međutim najizraženiji unutarnji valovi su se počeli generirati pred kraj terena, kad je istraživačka grupa već završavala predviđeni rad, te, unatoč velikom terenskom naporu, nije postignut željeni rezultat.

- U srpnju 2022. godine smo ponovili terenska istraživanja, s većim brojem istraživača, dodatnim senzorima i što je najvažnije, dodatnim real-time meteo-oceanografskim prognozama temeljenima na modelima visoke rezolucije.

Naši istraživači u Zagrebu i Splitu su svakodnevno radili na prognozama i njihovoj interpretaciji, te su istraživačima na terenu svako jutro davali smjernice za daljnje istraživanje. Prognoze su izdavane za smjer i brzinu vjetra, površinske valove uzrokovane vjetrom te unutarnje valove tijekom narednih 5 dana. Takav interdisciplinarni način rada, kojim su fizičari optimizirali uzorkovanje i mjerenje kemijskih i bioloških parametara po prvi put je proveden u Jadranu, te je rezultirao bitno boljim rezultatima od onih iz srpnja prethodne godine - naveli su istraživači.

Predavačica Ljubešić zaposlena je na Botaničkom zavodu Biološkog odsjeka PMF-a Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, gdje je magistrirala 2003., te doktorirala 2007. godine. Područje njenog rada je biološka oceanografija s naglaskom na taksonomiju, i ekologija fitoplanktona mora.

Istraživanja Zrinke Ljubešić su većinom provedena na Jadranskom moru, s posebnim naglaskom na specifična staništa poput visokostratificiranih krških estuarija, morskih jezera te izoliranih područja pod intenzivnim utjecajem kopna. Posebno treba naglasiti interdisciplinarnost njenih istraživanja te suradnju s drugim uglednim nacionalnim i međunarodnim institucijama, te sudjelovanje na četiri međunarodne istraživačke ekspedicije u Jadranu i Pacifiku.

Voditeljica je istraživačkog projekta HRZZ-a "Utjecaj valova vezanih uz otok na primarnu produkciju".

Na Prirodoslovno-matematičkom fakultetu Split ovog petka u 12.15 sati održat će se predstavljanje interdisciplinarnog projekta "Utjecaj valova vezanih uz otok na primarnu produkciju - ISLAND". Predavačica je izv. prof. dr. sc. Zrinka Ljubešić - s Botaničkog zavoda Biološkog odsjeka PMF-a Sveučilišta u Zagrebu.

- Valovi vezani uz otok (engl: Island-trapped waves ITWs) su značajan oceanografski fenomen, zabilježen na svega nekoliko lokacija na svijetu uključujući otok Lastovo u Jadranskom moru.

U sklopu projekta ISLAND ispitujemo utjecaj ITW-a na primarnu produkciju. Naša hipoteza je da su ITW glavni pokretač primarne produkcije u vrijeme stratifikacije u oligotrofnom sustavu Lastovskog arhipelaga. Kroz intenzivna terenska istraživanja povezujemo fizikalno-kemijske procese u eufotičkom sloju vodenog stupca sa primarnom produkcijom, određujemo sastav primarnih i sekundarnih producenata, te definiramo fizikalno-kemijske procese koji prethode ekstremnim događajima, primjerice masovnim izumiranjima u bentosu - sažetak je predavanja

Dosad dostupni podaci ukazivali su da su unutarnji valovi, zbog čestih i izraženih epizoda obalne cirkulacije, najizraženiji u srpnju. Na osnovu toga, prvo terensko istraživanje provedeno je u srpnju 2021. godine. Međutim najizraženiji unutarnji valovi su se počeli generirati pred kraj terena, kad je istraživačka grupa već završavala predviđeni rad, te, unatoč velikom terenskom naporu, nije postignut željeni rezultat.

- U srpnju 2022. godine smo ponovili terenska istraživanja, s većim brojem istraživača, dodatnim senzorima i što je najvažnije, dodatnim real-time meteo-oceanografskim prognozama temeljenima na modelima visoke rezolucije.
