U brodolomu Titanica, svojedobno najvećeg putničkog broda na svijetu, život je izgubilo više od 1500 osoba. Na prvo putovanje krenuo je iz Velike Britanije u New York, no nakon sudara sa santom leda potonuo je 15. travnja 1912. godine.

Na prvo putovanje tada najvećim putničkim brodom na svijetu krenulo je 2224 putnika, među kojima su bili i Mara Osman Banski iz Vagovine kraj Čazme, jedina Hrvatica koja je preživjela brodolom.

Mara Osman Banski imala je 31 godinu kad se ukrcala na "Titanic" prije 112 godina. Bila je udana za Miška Banskog koji je još 1906. otišao u Ameriku. Po zanimanju je bila krojačica. Nakon što je suprug uštedio dovoljno novca, kupio je svojoj supruzi kartu za put. Njihova dva sina trebala su doći poslije za njima.

Nakon što je preživjela brodolom prepričavala je kako se spasila. Navodno je baš plesala i zabavljala se kada je brod udario u santu leda. Nije paničarila već je za ruke zavezala dvije tikve, uzela dvoje djece i skočila u hladno more. Spasili su je iz vode iz nekog čamca za spašavanje. 

Mara Osman Banski (kasnije preudana Kolić) umrla je u SAD-u 1930. godine.

Potonuće su preživjeli i Hrvati Ivan Jalševac (1883. - 1945.) iz Topolovca kraj Siska, te Nikola Lulić - Draja (1883. - 1962.), podrijetlom iz ličkog sela Konjsko Brdo kraj Perušića.

Prvi film o katastrofi ovog prekooceanskog broda, “Saved from the Titanic”, snimljen je samo mjesec dana nakon tragedije, a glavnu ulogu tumačila je glumica koja je preživjela.

Najslavniji film o ovom potonuću, “Titanic” Jamesa Cameroona iz 1997. godine, koštao je više negoli izgradnja samoga broda.

U čamce za spašavanje moglo je stati nešto više od polovice putnika, no tek ih je trećina zaista spašena.

Od trenutka sudara do trenutka potonuća proteklo je dva sata i četrdeset minuta.

U brodolomu Titanica, svojedobno najvećeg putničkog broda na svijetu, život je izgubilo više od 1500 osoba. Na prvo putovanje krenuo je iz Velike Britanije u New York, no nakon sudara sa santom leda potonuo je 15. travnja 1912. godine.

Na prvo putovanje tada najvećim putničkim brodom na svijetu krenulo je 2224 putnika, među kojima su bili i Mara Osman Banski iz Vagovine kraj Čazme, jedina Hrvatica koja je preživjela brodolom.

Mara Osman Banski imala je 31 godinu kad se ukrcala na "Titanic" prije 112 godina. Bila je udana za Miška Banskog koji je još 1906. otišao u Ameriku. Po zanimanju je bila krojačica. Nakon što je suprug uštedio dovoljno novca, kupio je svojoj supruzi kartu za put. Njihova dva sina trebala su doći poslije za njima.

Nakon što je preživjela brodolom prepričavala je kako se spasila. Navodno je baš plesala i zabavljala se kada je brod udario u santu leda. Nije paničarila već je za ruke zavezala dvije tikve, uzela dvoje djece i skočila u hladno more. Spasili su je iz vode iz nekog čamca za spašavanje. 

Mara Osman Banski (kasnije preudana Kolić) umrla je u SAD-u 1930. godine.

Potonuće su preživjeli i Hrvati Ivan Jalševac (1883. - 1945.) iz Topolovca kraj Siska, te Nikola Lulić - Draja (1883. - 1962.), podrijetlom iz ličkog sela Konjsko Brdo kraj Perušića.

Najslavniji film o ovom potonuću, “Titanic” Jamesa Cameroona iz 1997. godine, koštao je više negoli izgradnja samoga broda.

U čamce za spašavanje moglo je stati nešto više od polovice putnika, no tek ih je trećina zaista spašena.

Od trenutka sudara do trenutka potonuća proteklo je dva sata i četrdeset minuta.

U brodolomu Titanica, svojedobno najvećeg putničkog broda na svijetu, život je izgubilo više od 1500 osoba. Na prvo putovanje krenuo je iz Velike Britanije u New York, no nakon sudara sa santom leda potonuo je 15. travnja 1912. godine.

Na prvo putovanje tada najvećim putničkim brodom na svijetu krenulo je 2224 putnika, među kojima su bili i Mara Osman Banski iz Vagovine kraj Čazme, jedina Hrvatica koja je preživjela brodolom.

Mara Osman Banski imala je 31 godinu kad se ukrcala na "Titanic" prije 112 godina. Bila je udana za Miška Banskog koji je još 1906. otišao u Ameriku. Po zanimanju je bila krojačica. Nakon što je suprug uštedio dovoljno novca, kupio je svojoj supruzi kartu za put. Njihova dva sina trebala su doći poslije za njima.
