Oduvijek su pomorci sa svojih putovanja donosili nekakve, za svoje vrijeme egzotične suvenire, koje bi kao uspomenu zadržali za sebe ili darivali nekom bliskom. Početkom dvadesetog stoljeća neki od takvih suvenira s Dalekog istoka bili su vezovi na svili, napravljeni prema naručenim motivima.

Uglavnom su rađeni prema sličnom obrascu i uz tekst posvete, ponekad i fotografiju, sadržavali prikaz i ime broda, zastave i carske ambleme te vrpce i druge dekorativne elemente. Zanimljivo je kako su vezilje zbog nepoznavanja jezika i pisma tekst često izvezle s pokojom greškom. Hrvatski pomorski muzej u Splitu u svom fundusu ima dva takva primjerka.

Služba u Kini

Brodovi austro-ugarske mornarice na Daleki istok su upućivani po raznim zadacima, od transportnih preko istraživačkih i ceremonijalnih pa sve do ratnih. Među njima bili su oklopna krstarica Kaiser Franz Joseph I, brod blizanac koji je dobio ime po carevoj supruzi Kaiserin Elisabeth i torpiljarka Panther, a s kojih se neke od uspomena članova posade čuvaju u ovom muzeju.

Jedan je vez na svili koji je tijekom službe u Kini i Japanu na krstarici Kaiser Franz Joseph I dao izraditi Petar Duplančić, svom bratu za uspomenu. Brod je inače prvotno izgrađen kao torpedna krstarica u Trstu 1889. godine, a 1905. rekonstruiran u oklopnu krstaricu.

U svojoj tridesetogodišnjoj službi obišao je mnoga mora, između ostalog i na Sjevernom moru 1895. godine predvodio je austrougarski oklopni odred tijekom svečanosti otvaranja Kielskog kanala. Tijekom jakog nevremena 17. listopada 1919. otrgao se sa sidrene plutače u uvali Žanjice na ulazu u Boku kotorsku i potonuo pred uvalom Cipavica, gdje i danas na dubini od četrdesetak metara leži na lijevom boku.

Drugi vez na svili dao je izraditi Marijan Čiklić iz Dobropoljane na Pašmanu, član posade istog broda, ali iz vremena kada je u tom području služio vojni rok na torpiljarki Panther.

Motiv je nešto bogatiji zastavama i uz onu austro-ugarske ratne mornarice vidimo i zastave drugih imperijalističkih carstava na Dalekom istoku te zemalja koje je naručitelj posjetio. U sredini je fotografija naručitelja, danas djelomično oštećena, izrađena je u zadarskoj radnji poznatoga dvorskog fotografa Tommasa Burata.

Borba protiv Britanije

U fundusu muzeja su i dvije fotografije iz tog razdoblja na Dalekom istoku. Na jednoj je Slovenac Anton Lipovž, dočasnik na Kaiserin Elisabeth, snimljen na palubi u civilnoj kineskoj odjeći, a na drugoj dio posade u bijeloj, svečanoj uniformi.

Krstarica Kaiserin Elisabeth porinuta je u Puli 25. rujna 1890. godine, a na Dalekom istoku kao njemački saveznik sudjelovala je u borbi protiv Britanije i Japana. Kako ne bi pala u neprijateljske ruke, posada je sama potopila 2. studenoga 1914. godine.

Lipovž je proveo Prvi svjetski rat u japanskom zarobljeništvu. O događajima u službi, višegodišnjem zatočeništvu te nimalo lakom povratku u domovinu napisao je i putopis koji se čuva u Pomorskom muzeju Sergej Mašera u Piranu.

Oduvijek su pomorci sa svojih putovanja donosili nekakve, za svoje vrijeme egzotične suvenire, koje bi kao uspomenu zadržali za sebe ili darivali nekom bliskom. Početkom dvadesetog stoljeća neki od takvih suvenira s Dalekog istoka bili su vezovi na svili, napravljeni prema naručenim motivima.

Uglavnom su rađeni prema sličnom obrascu i uz tekst posvete, ponekad i fotografiju, sadržavali prikaz i ime broda, zastave i carske ambleme te vrpce i druge dekorativne elemente. Zanimljivo je kako su vezilje zbog nepoznavanja jezika i pisma tekst često izvezle s pokojom greškom. Hrvatski pomorski muzej u Splitu u svom fundusu ima dva takva primjerka.

Služba u Kini

Brodovi austro-ugarske mornarice na Daleki istok su upućivani po raznim zadacima, od transportnih preko istraživačkih i ceremonijalnih pa sve do ratnih. Među njima bili su oklopna krstarica Kaiser Franz Joseph I, brod blizanac koji je dobio ime po carevoj supruzi Kaiserin Elisabeth i torpiljarka Panther, a s kojih se neke od uspomena članova posade čuvaju u ovom muzeju.

Jedan je vez na svili koji je tijekom službe u Kini i Japanu na krstarici Kaiser Franz Joseph I dao izraditi Petar Duplančić, svom bratu za uspomenu. Brod je inače prvotno izgrađen kao torpedna krstarica u Trstu 1889. godine, a 1905. rekonstruiran u oklopnu krstaricu.

U svojoj tridesetogodišnjoj službi obišao je mnoga mora, između ostalog i na Sjevernom moru 1895. godine predvodio je austrougarski oklopni odred tijekom svečanosti otvaranja Kielskog kanala. Tijekom jakog nevremena 17. listopada 1919. otrgao se sa sidrene plutače u uvali Žanjice na ulazu u Boku kotorsku i potonuo pred uvalom Cipavica, gdje i danas na dubini od četrdesetak metara leži na lijevom boku.

Drugi vez na svili dao je izraditi Marijan Čiklić iz Dobropoljane na Pašmanu, član posade istog broda, ali iz vremena kada je u tom području služio vojni rok na torpiljarki Panther.

Motiv je nešto bogatiji zastavama i uz onu austro-ugarske ratne mornarice vidimo i zastave drugih imperijalističkih carstava na Dalekom istoku te zemalja koje je naručitelj posjetio. U sredini je fotografija naručitelja, danas djelomično oštećena, izrađena je u zadarskoj radnji poznatoga dvorskog fotografa Tommasa Burata.

Borba protiv Britanije

U fundusu muzeja su i dvije fotografije iz tog razdoblja na Dalekom istoku. Na jednoj je Slovenac Anton Lipovž, dočasnik na Kaiserin Elisabeth, snimljen na palubi u civilnoj kineskoj odjeći, a na drugoj dio posade u bijeloj, svečanoj uniformi.

Krstarica Kaiserin Elisabeth porinuta je u Puli 25. rujna 1890. godine, a na Dalekom istoku kao njemački saveznik sudjelovala je u borbi protiv Britanije i Japana. Kako ne bi pala u neprijateljske ruke, posada je sama potopila 2. studenoga 1914. godine.

Lipovž je proveo Prvi svjetski rat u japanskom zarobljeništvu. O događajima u službi, višegodišnjem zatočeništvu te nimalo lakom povratku u domovinu napisao je i putopis koji se čuva u Pomorskom muzeju Sergej Mašera u Piranu.
