Ribolovne strune, kao i sve ostalo, imaju vijek trajanja, koji ne ovisi samo o tvorničkoj kvaliteti, učestalosti i uvjetima upotrebe, nego i o održavanju te skladištenju izvan upotrebe.

Slatka kupka

Od plastičnih ribolovnih struna najdulji vijek trajanja imaju PE višenitke, kojima 8 do 10 godina nakon izrade karakteristike osjetnije ne slabe ako se ne koriste. Kad se učestalo koriste, gotovo stopostotnu kvalitetu zadržavaju jednu do dvije godine. Ako se umjereno koriste, bit će kao nove oko dvije godine, a oko tri kad se povremeno koriste. No ti se periodi mogu i značajno i dosta lako produljiti prikladnim održavanjem i čuvanjem strune izvan upotrebe.

Kako bi se spriječilo formiranje kristala soli na struni i unutar nje, koji je mogu oštetiti, višenitku na kalemu nakvašenu morem najbolje je odmah nakon ribolova odmotati s kalema i oprati u slatkoj vodi, te položiti u zasjenjeno mjesto na tlo, još bolje na travu, i ostaviti da se suši najmanje pet minuta. Ako je vrijeme ograničeno, tada opranu strunu treba labavo namotati natrag na kalem, te temeljito osušiti kod kuće. Mokru strunu treba namotati labavo jer se ona tijekom sušenja skuplja, što može prouzročiti usijecanje gornjih namotaja među donje, izazvati oštećenja te ometati silazak strune s kalema pri odbacivanju mamca.

Opranu i osušenu strunu poželjno je povremeno nekoliko puta provući kroz vatu natopljenu medicinskim benzinom ili glicerinom. Na taj se način vraća izvorni sjaj i boja strune, koja upotrebom dosta brzo blijedi. Osim toga, podmazana struna lakše klizi kroz provodnike, manje se uvrće i na taj način omogućuje dalje odbacivanje mamca, čemu pridonosi i povremeno brisanje prstena provodnika alkoholom.

Za dugotrajnije čuvanje, nakon opisanog tretmana najbolje je rabljenu višenitku s role premotati na neki kalem ili ravno motovilo od pjenoplastike, stiropora ili stirodura. Početak joj je najbolje čvrsto spojiti, a kraj elastičnom trakom kako bi se bez zatezanja mogla stezati i uvijek biti labava, ali ne toliko da bi spadala.

Kako bi se usporio kemijski proces u plastici od koje je načinjena, a koji je slabi i ne prekida se njezinom izradom, strunu treba držati na suhom, hladnom i tamnom mjestu. Najbolje upakiranu u plastičnu vrećicu ili papir prethodno natopljen masnoćom.

ŠTITNIK ZA KALEM

Višenitne PE strune posebno su osjetljive na mehanička oštećenja. Zato ih je do upotrebe najbolje držati u originalnom pakiranju, a na kalemu role izvan upotrebe zaštititi štitnikom. To jednostavno, a više nego korisno pomagalo može se naći u bolje opremljenim prodavaonicama, a može se i lako napraviti.

Za to se može iskoristiti znojnik, kakav na zglobu šake nose tenisači i mnogi drugi sportaši. Može se izraditi i od laštika te čičak-trake. Važno je da u potpunosti prekriva strunu na kalemu. Tako je štiti od neželjenih dodira i neželjenog spadanja s kalema, što se posebno često događa s tek namotanim strunama. Štiti je i od UV zraka, koje ubrzavaju slabljenje materijala od kojeg je struna izrađena.

Ribolovne strune, kao i sve ostalo, imaju vijek trajanja, koji ne ovisi samo o tvorničkoj kvaliteti, učestalosti i uvjetima upotrebe, nego i o održavanju te skladištenju izvan upotrebe.

Slatka kupka

Od plastičnih ribolovnih struna najdulji vijek trajanja imaju PE višenitke, kojima 8 do 10 godina nakon izrade karakteristike osjetnije ne slabe ako se ne koriste. Kad se učestalo koriste, gotovo stopostotnu kvalitetu zadržavaju jednu do dvije godine. Ako se umjereno koriste, bit će kao nove oko dvije godine, a oko tri kad se povremeno koriste. No ti se periodi mogu i značajno i dosta lako produljiti prikladnim održavanjem i čuvanjem strune izvan upotrebe.

Kako bi se spriječilo formiranje kristala soli na struni i unutar nje, koji je mogu oštetiti, višenitku na kalemu nakvašenu morem najbolje je odmah nakon ribolova odmotati s kalema i oprati u slatkoj vodi, te položiti u zasjenjeno mjesto na tlo, još bolje na travu, i ostaviti da se suši najmanje pet minuta. Ako je vrijeme ograničeno, tada opranu strunu treba labavo namotati natrag na kalem, te temeljito osušiti kod kuće. Mokru strunu treba namotati labavo jer se ona tijekom sušenja skuplja, što može prouzročiti usijecanje gornjih namotaja među donje, izazvati oštećenja te ometati silazak strune s kalema pri odbacivanju mamca.

Opranu i osušenu strunu poželjno je povremeno nekoliko puta provući kroz vatu natopljenu medicinskim benzinom ili glicerinom. Na taj se način vraća izvorni sjaj i boja strune, koja upotrebom dosta brzo blijedi. Osim toga, podmazana struna lakše klizi kroz provodnike, manje se uvrće i na taj način omogućuje dalje odbacivanje mamca, čemu pridonosi i povremeno brisanje prstena provodnika alkoholom.

Masni papir

Za dugotrajnije čuvanje, nakon opisanog tretmana najbolje je rabljenu višenitku s role premotati na neki kalem ili ravno motovilo od pjenoplastike, stiropora ili stirodura. Početak joj je najbolje čvrsto spojiti, a kraj elastičnom trakom kako bi se bez zatezanja mogla stezati i uvijek biti labava, ali ne toliko da bi spadala.

Kako bi se usporio kemijski proces u plastici od koje je načinjena, a koji je slabi i ne prekida se njezinom izradom, strunu treba držati na suhom, hladnom i tamnom mjestu. Najbolje upakiranu u plastičnu vrećicu ili papir prethodno natopljen masnoćom.

ŠTITNIK ZA KALEM

Višenitne PE strune posebno su osjetljive na mehanička oštećenja. Zato ih je do upotrebe najbolje držati u originalnom pakiranju, a na kalemu role izvan upotrebe zaštititi štitnikom. To jednostavno, a više nego korisno pomagalo može se naći u bolje opremljenim prodavaonicama, a može se i lako napraviti.

Za to se može iskoristiti znojnik, kakav na zglobu šake nose tenisači i mnogi drugi sportaši. Može se izraditi i od laštika te čičak-trake. Važno je da u potpunosti prekriva strunu na kalemu. Tako je štiti od neželjenih dodira i neželjenog spadanja s kalema, što se posebno često događa s tek namotanim strunama. Štiti je i od UV zraka, koje ubrzavaju slabljenje materijala od kojeg je struna izrađena.
