Uvijek smo sa zanimanjem gledali uzlijetanje raketa koje prevoze posade na Međunarodnu svemirsku postaju, pristajanje modula s astronautima i vesele bestežinske dočeke od njihovih kolega koje su došli zamijeniti. Izvan postaje nepojmljiva studen i vakuum svemira, pa cijeli život u njoj ovisi u potpunosti o naprednoj tehnologiji, a zaštita o nekoliko centimetara metala i kompozitnih materijala. E pa uskoro ćemo gledati obrnuta lansiranja. Ne u svemir i ne raketama, nego posebnim podmornicama u morske dubine. Tamo čovjek također može opstati jedino zaštićen visokom tehnologijom jer je okoliš trenutačno ubojit. Osobito na 200 metara, kolika će biti radna dubina postaje nazvane Sentinel.

Baza DEEP Campusa

Na njezinu projektiranju, ali i osmišljavanju cijelog sustava istraživanja iz podvodne morske postaje već dvije godine radi britanska tvrtka za oceansku tehnologiju i istraživanje prigodnog imena Deep, a njezini čelni ljudi sada najavljuju da je proizvodnja pojedinih komponenti Sentinela već počela. Njihov je poslovni moto također znakovit i jasan – Make Humans Aquatic.

Poput međunarodne svemirske postaje, i ova oceanska ima modularni izgled, a također je i pomična pa će se moći seliti s jedne lokacije na drugu. Prva od njih, prema planu, trebala bi biti negdje uz obalu Walesa, na jugozapadu Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva. Pritom će podvodna postaja Sentinel biti glavna baza i središte svojevrsnog DEEP Campusa, jer će zajedno s njom i oko nje raditi znanstvene istraživačke podmornice kako bi se mogao pokriti cijeli niz oceanskih dubina, te pojava i života u njima.

Dizajn je modularan, što omogućava širenje

– Moramo očuvati oceane. Da bismo to učinili, moramo ih razumjeti. Oni su u središtu mnogih generacijskih izazova s ​​kojima se svijet suočava. Oni su izvor barem svakog drugog udaha koji udahnemo. Utječu na vrijeme. Utječu na klimu. Oni utječu na nas. Ipak, ovaj ekosustav koji održava život ostaje iznenađujuće nepoznat. Putem naše inovativne tehnologije, DEEP će omogućiti znanstvenicima da dulje vrijeme rade na dubini i nadamo se da će, na neki mali način, doprinijeti našem razumijevanju ovog okruženja koje daje život – kazao je Steve Etherton, predsjednik tvrtke DEEP Research Labs Limited.

Kako bi znanstvenici mogli na miru i sustavno izučavati oceanske dubine, bitno je da u njima mogu dulje boraviti i raditi, a ne samo kratko zaranjati i u takvim zaronima istraživati tek djeliće goleme oceanske slagalice. U postaji Sentinel moći će boraviti i istraživati na dubini od 200 metara punih 28 dana. Ta je dubina namjerno izabrana kao donja granica epipelagičke zone, do koje Sunčeva svjetlost prodire u ocean, pa se prema procjenama u njoj nalazi 90 posto morskog života.

Udobnost u dubinama

Naravno da se za tako dugi boravak znanstvenika u morskim dubinama moraju osigurati prihvatljivi uvjeti života i rada, što je i bio najveći izazov u projektiranju. Podmornice su mahom vrlo skučene i u njima se živi u prilično klaustrofobičnim uvjetima, a Sentinel je morao ponuditi solidnu razinu komfora. Bogme će ga posada i imati, jer je predviđeno da znanstvenici žive u malim jednokrevetnim spavaćim sobama koje bi imale prostor za odlaganje stvari, kupaonicu s WC-om, umivaonikom i tušem, pa čak i TV za zabavu. Osim istraživačkih laboratorija, predviđeni su i zajednički prostori za objedovanje, sastanke i druženje. Sve u svemu, prilično ugodan i udoban život. Ne baš 20 tisuća milja pod morem, kao Verneov kapetan Nemo, ali barem na 200 metara. Pritom je posebno važno što modularnost dizajna Sentinela omogućava njegovo proširenje, te zamjenu pojedinih modula, jer to cijeli projekt čini razvojno dinamičnim.​

Puno je truda uloženo u unutarnji dizajn

– Radimo nešto novo u razmjerima koji se dosad nisu mogli zamisliti izvan znanstvene fantastike. U potpunosti očekujem da će oprema i tehnologija koju razvijamo biti ključne u omogućavanju nekih otkrića koja radikalno mijenjaju način na koji pristupamo oceanima i razmišljamo o njima – smatra Rick Goddard, direktor DEEP Sentinela.

U tvrtki DEEP vjeruju da bi Sentinel mogao zaroniti na stalni rad u 2027. godini, što će ovisiti i o ishodu pregovora što se upravo vode s potencijalnim investitorima i partnerima kako bi se projekt ubrzao. To više što je tehnoloških izazova još uvijek dosta, pa tako inženjerski tim upravo intenzivno radi na obnovljivom izvoru energije i bioreaktoru velikih razmjera za zbrinjavanje otpada. Bilo bi doista lijepo 2027. godine na televiziji gledati prvi zaron.

STANIŠTE S CERTIFIKATOM

Tvrtka Deep blisko surađuje s vodećim svjetskim certifikacijskim tijelom DNV kako bi osigurala da Sentinel bude prvo podvodno stanište na svijetu koje je dobilo certifikat treće strane. Razlog je što se u pogledu sigurnosti ljudi koji će u njemu boraviti ne žele praviti ni najmanji kompromisi, to je apsolutni prioritet.

Uvijek smo sa zanimanjem gledali uzlijetanje raketa koje prevoze posade na Međunarodnu svemirsku postaju, pristajanje modula s astronautima i vesele bestežinske dočeke od njihovih kolega koje su došli zamijeniti. Izvan postaje nepojmljiva studen i vakuum svemira, pa cijeli život u njoj ovisi u potpunosti o naprednoj tehnologiji, a zaštita o nekoliko centimetara metala i kompozitnih materijala. E pa uskoro ćemo gledati obrnuta lansiranja. Ne u svemir i ne raketama, nego posebnim podmornicama u morske dubine. Tamo čovjek također može opstati jedino zaštićen visokom tehnologijom jer je okoliš trenutačno ubojit. Osobito na 200 metara, kolika će biti radna dubina postaje nazvane Sentinel.

Baza DEEP Campusa

Na njezinu projektiranju, ali i osmišljavanju cijelog sustava istraživanja iz podvodne morske postaje već dvije godine radi britanska tvrtka za oceansku tehnologiju i istraživanje prigodnog imena Deep, a njezini čelni ljudi sada najavljuju da je proizvodnja pojedinih komponenti Sentinela već počela. Njihov je poslovni moto također znakovit i jasan – Make Humans Aquatic.

Poput međunarodne svemirske postaje, i ova oceanska ima modularni izgled, a također je i pomična pa će se moći seliti s jedne lokacije na drugu. Prva od njih, prema planu, trebala bi biti negdje uz obalu Walesa, na jugozapadu Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva. Pritom će podvodna postaja Sentinel biti glavna baza i središte svojevrsnog DEEP Campusa, jer će zajedno s njom i oko nje raditi znanstvene istraživačke podmornice kako bi se mogao pokriti cijeli niz oceanskih dubina, te pojava i života u njima.

– Moramo očuvati oceane. Da bismo to učinili, moramo ih razumjeti. Oni su u središtu mnogih generacijskih izazova s ​​kojima se svijet suočava. Oni su izvor barem svakog drugog udaha koji udahnemo. Utječu na vrijeme. Utječu na klimu. Oni utječu na nas. Ipak, ovaj ekosustav koji održava život ostaje iznenađujuće nepoznat. Putem naše inovativne tehnologije, DEEP će omogućiti znanstvenicima da dulje vrijeme rade na dubini i nadamo se da će, na neki mali način, doprinijeti našem razumijevanju ovog okruženja koje daje život – kazao je Steve Etherton, predsjednik tvrtke DEEP Research Labs Limited.

Kako bi znanstvenici mogli na miru i sustavno izučavati oceanske dubine, bitno je da u njima mogu dulje boraviti i raditi, a ne samo kratko zaranjati i u takvim zaronima istraživati tek djeliće goleme oceanske slagalice. U postaji Sentinel moći će boraviti i istraživati na dubini od 200 metara punih 28 dana. Ta je dubina namjerno izabrana kao donja granica epipelagičke zone, do koje Sunčeva svjetlost prodire u ocean, pa se prema procjenama u njoj nalazi 90 posto morskog života.

Udobnost u dubinama

Naravno da se za tako dugi boravak znanstvenika u morskim dubinama moraju osigurati prihvatljivi uvjeti života i rada, što je i bio najveći izazov u projektiranju. Podmornice su mahom vrlo skučene i u njima se živi u prilično klaustrofobičnim uvjetima, a Sentinel je morao ponuditi solidnu razinu komfora. Bogme će ga posada i imati, jer je predviđeno da znanstvenici žive u malim jednokrevetnim spavaćim sobama koje bi imale prostor za odlaganje stvari, kupaonicu s WC-om, umivaonikom i tušem, pa čak i TV za zabavu. Osim istraživačkih laboratorija, predviđeni su i zajednički prostori za objedovanje, sastanke i druženje. Sve u svemu, prilično ugodan i udoban život. Ne baš 20 tisuća milja pod morem, kao Verneov kapetan Nemo, ali barem na 200 metara. Pritom je posebno važno što modularnost dizajna Sentinela omogućava njegovo proširenje, te zamjenu pojedinih modula, jer to cijeli projekt čini razvojno dinamičnim.​

– Radimo nešto novo u razmjerima koji se dosad nisu mogli zamisliti izvan znanstvene fantastike. U potpunosti očekujem da će oprema i tehnologija koju razvijamo biti ključne u omogućavanju nekih otkrića koja radikalno mijenjaju način na koji pristupamo oceanima i razmišljamo o njima – smatra Rick Goddard, direktor DEEP Sentinela.

U tvrtki DEEP vjeruju da bi Sentinel mogao zaroniti na stalni rad u 2027. godini, što će ovisiti i o ishodu pregovora što se upravo vode s potencijalnim investitorima i partnerima kako bi se projekt ubrzao. To više što je tehnoloških izazova još uvijek dosta, pa tako inženjerski tim upravo intenzivno radi na obnovljivom izvoru energije i bioreaktoru velikih razmjera za zbrinjavanje otpada. Bilo bi doista lijepo 2027. godine na televiziji gledati prvi zaron.

STANIŠTE S CERTIFIKATOM

Tvrtka Deep blisko surađuje s vodećim svjetskim certifikacijskim tijelom DNV kako bi osigurala da Sentinel bude prvo podvodno stanište na svijetu koje je dobilo certifikat treće strane. Razlog je što se u pogledu sigurnosti ljudi koji će u njemu boraviti ne žele praviti ni najmanji kompromisi, to je apsolutni prioritet.

Uvijek smo sa zanimanjem gledali uzlijetanje raketa koje prevoze posade na Međunarodnu svemirsku postaju, pristajanje modula s astronautima i vesele bestežinske dočeke od njihovih kolega koje su došli zamijeniti. Izvan postaje nepojmljiva studen i vakuum svemira, pa cijeli život u njoj ovisi u potpunosti o naprednoj tehnologiji, a zaštita o nekoliko centimetara metala i kompozitnih materijala. E pa uskoro ćemo gledati obrnuta lansiranja. Ne u svemir i ne raketama, nego posebnim podmornicama u morske dubine. Tamo čovjek također može opstati jedino zaštićen visokom tehnologijom jer je okoliš trenutačno ubojit. Osobito na 200 metara, kolika će biti radna dubina postaje nazvane Sentinel.
