Zbog simptoma sličnih gripi 45-godišnjakinja je posegla za ibuprofenom i pretrpjela užasnu reakciju koja joj je uzrokovala crvene i natečene oči, žutu koru oko usta, ozbiljno oticanje te zmijske ljuske po licu.

Lijek protiv bolova uzela je svega nekoliko sati ranije, a zbog nuspojava je hitno prevezena u bolnicu u Iraku, piše Jutarnji.

U bolnici joj je dijagnosticirana teška nuspojava na ibuprofen nazvana Stevens-Johnsonov sindrom. Do njega dolazi kad imunološki sustav pretjerano reagira na neki okidač, poput lijeka, uzrokujući visoke razine upale. Zbog toga organizam napada vlastite stanice, uključujući i one u koži što rezultira pojavom mjehurića i oteklina.

Pacijentica je poslana na odjel intenzivne njege gdje joj je u grlo postavljena cijev za davanje tekućine, primila je infuziju te joj je prepisan antibiotik.

Zadržana je ondje sedam dana dok se oteklina nije povukla, piše Daily Mail. Iako nikad prije nije imala problema zbog uzimanja ibuprofena, još uvijek nije utvrđeno je li pretrpjela neke dugoročne posljedice.

"Ibuprofen je dugo bio prvi izbor za ublažavanje boli i upravljanja upalama. Međutim, iako je ibuprofen općenito siguran, rijetka pojava teških reakcija poput Stevens-Johnsonovog sindroma služi kao podsjetnik da niti jedan lijek nije moguće uzeti bez određenog rizika" - poručuju liječnici.

Procjenjuje se kako Amerikanci svake godine uzmu oko 30 milijardi lijekova protiv bolova, poput ibuprofena, no većina ih nema nikakvu reakciju.

Samo u iznimno rijetkim slučajevima zabilježene su ozbiljne reakcije poput SJS-a, odnosno od 2004. godine ibuprofen je uzrokovao 847 slučajeva istog sindroma.

Pacijenti su najčešće hospitalizirani i u nekim slučajevima mogu umrijeti. U reakciji imunološki se sustav upalom bori protiv ibuprofena identificirajući ga kao prijetnju. To može uzrokovati probleme s kožom pa čak i odvajanje vanjskog sloja kože na nekim mjestima.

Žena je liječnicima rekla da je prije reakcije uzela dvije tablete ibuprofena od 400 mg. Testovi njenih unutarnjih organa, poput pluća i srca, pokazali su kako svi funkcioniraju normalno. Uzorak uzet s njezine kože pokazao je kako se vanjski sloj odvojio od tijela, a zabilježeni su i znakovi nekroze.

45-godišnja pacijentica nije imala ranijih dijagnoza i bolesti, bila je nepušač i nije konzumirala alkohol. Život su joj spasili liječnici u bolnici Al Nasiriyah Teaching Hospital u Thi Qaru u južnom Iraku.

Zbog simptoma sličnih gripi 45-godišnjakinja je posegla za ibuprofenom i pretrpjela užasnu reakciju koja joj je uzrokovala crvene i natečene oči, žutu koru oko usta, ozbiljno oticanje te zmijske ljuske po licu.

Lijek protiv bolova uzela je svega nekoliko sati ranije, a zbog nuspojava je hitno prevezena u bolnicu u Iraku, piše Jutarnji.

U bolnici joj je dijagnosticirana teška nuspojava na ibuprofen nazvana Stevens-Johnsonov sindrom. Do njega dolazi kad imunološki sustav pretjerano reagira na neki okidač, poput lijeka, uzrokujući visoke razine upale. Zbog toga organizam napada vlastite stanice, uključujući i one u koži što rezultira pojavom mjehurića i oteklina.

Pacijentica je poslana na odjel intenzivne njege gdje joj je u grlo postavljena cijev za davanje tekućine, primila je infuziju te joj je prepisan antibiotik.

Zadržana je ondje sedam dana dok se oteklina nije povukla, piše Daily Mail. Iako nikad prije nije imala problema zbog uzimanja ibuprofena, još uvijek nije utvrđeno je li pretrpjela neke dugoročne posljedice.

"Ibuprofen je dugo bio prvi izbor za ublažavanje boli i upravljanja upalama. Međutim, iako je ibuprofen općenito siguran, rijetka pojava teških reakcija poput Stevens-Johnsonovog sindroma služi kao podsjetnik da niti jedan lijek nije moguće uzeti bez određenog rizika" - poručuju liječnici.

Procjenjuje se kako Amerikanci svake godine uzmu oko 30 milijardi lijekova protiv bolova, poput ibuprofena, no većina ih nema nikakvu reakciju.

Samo u iznimno rijetkim slučajevima zabilježene su ozbiljne reakcije poput SJS-a, odnosno od 2004. godine ibuprofen je uzrokovao 847 slučajeva istog sindroma.

Pacijenti su najčešće hospitalizirani i u nekim slučajevima mogu umrijeti. U reakciji imunološki se sustav upalom bori protiv ibuprofena identificirajući ga kao prijetnju. To može uzrokovati probleme s kožom pa čak i odvajanje vanjskog sloja kože na nekim mjestima.

Žena je liječnicima rekla da je prije reakcije uzela dvije tablete ibuprofena od 400 mg. Testovi njenih unutarnjih organa, poput pluća i srca, pokazali su kako svi funkcioniraju normalno. Uzorak uzet s njezine kože pokazao je kako se vanjski sloj odvojio od tijela, a zabilježeni su i znakovi nekroze.

45-godišnja pacijentica nije imala ranijih dijagnoza i bolesti, bila je nepušač i nije konzumirala alkohol. Život su joj spasili liječnici u bolnici Al Nasiriyah Teaching Hospital u Thi Qaru u južnom Iraku.
