Australski znanstvenici kažu da su razvili krvni test za otkrivanje melanoma u ranoj fazi, prenosi u srijedu BBC.
Svrha testa, prvog takvog u svijetu, je olakšati otkrivanje raka kože prije nego što postane smrtonosan, rekli su znanstvenici u istraživanju objavljenom u stručnom časopisu Oncotarget.
Liječnici se sada oslanjaju na pregled kože i biopsiju kako bi otkrili melanom, koji se može brzo proširiti.
Znanstvenici kažu da krvni test može dati točnije rezultate od pregleda kože i tako spasiti brojne živote.
Test, koji su razvili znanstvenici sa Sveučilišta Edith Cowan, otkriva melanom prepoznavanjem anititijela koje proizvodi organizam u borbi protiv rasta karcinoma.
U ispitivanju u kojemu je sudjelovalo dvjestotinjak ljudi, od kojih je pola imalo karcinom, test je bio uspješan u 81,5 posto slučajeva.
Klinička ispitivanja testa provest će se u roku od tri godine kako bi se poboljšala njegova točnost na 90 posto. Znanstvenici se nadaju da bi mogao biti odobren za korištenje u roku od pet godina, navodi BBC.
Maligni melanom, najteži oblik raka kože, većinom uzrokuje izlaganje UV zračenju. Obično počinje s promjenom madeža ili novom izraslinom na koži.
Iako su specijalisti dobro obučeni da prepoznaju melanom, profesorica Mel Ziman kaže da bi ovaj test mogao ubrzati postavljanje dijagnoze.
"U rutinskoj kliničkoj praksi često zna biti teško razlikovati melanom u ranoj fazi od madeža", kazala je.
"Ovaj krvni test dobro će doći kada pacijent stigne u kliniku kako bi utvrdio je li lezija na koži melanom. Liječnik će moći napraviti test prije biopsije", dodala je.
Po njezinim riječima, rano otkrivanje melanoma jako je važno jer stopa preživljavanja tada iznosi čak 98 do 99 posto.
"Čim se proširi dublje u kožu, stopa preživljavanja dramatično pada", ističe Ziman.

Australski znanstvenici kažu da su razvili krvni test za otkrivanje melanoma u ranoj fazi, prenosi u srijedu BBC.
Svrha testa, prvog takvog u svijetu, je olakšati otkrivanje raka kože prije nego što postane smrtonosan, rekli su znanstvenici u istraživanju objavljenom u stručnom časopisu Oncotarget.
Liječnici se sada oslanjaju na pregled kože i biopsiju kako bi otkrili melanom, koji se može brzo proširiti.
Znanstvenici kažu da krvni test može dati točnije rezultate od pregleda kože i tako spasiti brojne živote.
Test, koji su razvili znanstvenici sa Sveučilišta Edith Cowan, otkriva melanom prepoznavanjem anititijela koje proizvodi organizam u borbi protiv rasta karcinoma.
U ispitivanju u kojemu je sudjelovalo dvjestotinjak ljudi, od kojih je pola imalo karcinom, test je bio uspješan u 81,5 posto slučajeva.
Klinička ispitivanja testa provest će se u roku od tri godine kako bi se poboljšala njegova točnost na 90 posto. Znanstvenici se nadaju da bi mogao biti odobren za korištenje u roku od pet godina, navodi BBC.
Maligni melanom, najteži oblik raka kože, većinom uzrokuje izlaganje UV zračenju. Obično počinje s promjenom madeža ili novom izraslinom na koži.
Iako su specijalisti dobro obučeni da prepoznaju melanom, profesorica Mel Ziman kaže da bi ovaj test mogao ubrzati postavljanje dijagnoze.
"U rutinskoj kliničkoj praksi često zna biti teško razlikovati melanom u ranoj fazi od madeža", kazala je.
"Ovaj krvni test dobro će doći kada pacijent stigne u kliniku kako bi utvrdio je li lezija na koži melanom. Liječnik će moći napraviti test prije biopsije", dodala je.
Po njezinim riječima, rano otkrivanje melanoma jako je važno jer stopa preživljavanja tada iznosi čak 98 do 99 posto.
"Čim se proširi dublje u kožu, stopa preživljavanja dramatično pada", ističe Ziman.
