Već nekoliko godina može se pročitati o problemima sa začećem. Te probleme se najčešće veže za promjene u načinu života i prehrane, stresa i sve kasnije zasnivanje bračnih i partnerskih zajednica. Znanstvenu potvrdu tih nagađanja donosi aktualna i zanimljiva studija.

Gen koji određuje muškarce na Y kromosomu odlučuje o spolu djeteta kod čovjeka, a isti je slučaj i s drugim sisavcima. Ipak, ljudski kromosom Y degenerira i mogao bi nestati za nekoliko milijuna godina, što bi moglo dovesti do izumiranja ljudske vrste ako u međuvremenu ne razvijemo novi spolni gen.

Nova znanstvena studija objavljena u časopisu Proceedings of the National Academy of Science pokazuje kako je bodljikavi štakor razvio novi gen koji određuje mužjaka, objasnila je neovisna stručnjakinja Jenny Graves, profesorica genetike s australskog Sveučilišta La Trobe, rezultate tog istraživanja u članku za Conversation, prenosi Zimo.

"Naša tvrdnja o skoroj smrti ljudskog Y-a izazvala je bijes, a do danas postoje tvrdnje i protutvrdnje o očekivanom vijeku trajanja našeg kromosoma Y, procjene variraju između beskonačnosti i nekoliko tisuća godina, kaže Graves referirajući se na vlastito istraživanje objavljeno na portalu Core.

Znanstvenici ipak znaju za dvije vrste glodavaca koje su već izgubile svoj kromosom Y, ali koje su preživjele tu promjenu.

- Krtice voluharice u istočnoj Europi i bodljikavi štakori u Japanu mogu se pohvaliti nekim vrstama, kod kojih su Y kromosom i SRY potpuno nestali. Kromosom X ostaje u jednoj ili dvostrukoj dozi, u oba spola tih vrsta glodavaca, pojašnjava Graves.

Navodi primjer ranije spomenutog znanstvenog istraživanja japanskih znanstvenika, objavljenom u časopisu PNAS, u kojem je otkriveno da je većina gena na kromosomu Y bodljikavih štakora premještena na druge kromosome. Japanska studija sugerira da taj mali komad dupliciranog DNK-a sadrži prekidač, koji normalno uključuje SOX9 kao odgovor na SRY.

Evolucijski nestanak ljudskog kromosoma Y izazvao je nagađanja o budućnosti ljudske vrste.

Neki gušteri i zmije samo su ženske vrste i mogu napraviti jajašca iz vlastitih gena procesom poznatim kao partenogeneza. Ali to se ne može dogoditi kod ljudi ili drugih sisavaca jer imamo najmanje 30 ključnih ‘utisnutih‘ gena koji rade samo ako dolaze od oca preko sperme. To znači da bi kraj kromosoma Y mogao biti najava izumiranja ljudske rase, pojašnjava Graves.

Japanska studija međutim podupire alternativu - da ljudi mogu razviti novi gen koji određuje spol. To ipak ne dolazi bez vlastitih rizika, tvrdi Graves. Što ako se više od jednog novog sustava razvije u različitim dijelovima svijeta, pita australska stručnjakinja.

Rat spolnih gena mogao bi dovesti do odvajanja novih vrsta, što je upravo ono što se dogodilo s krticama i štakorima. Dakle, ako bi netko posjetio Zemlju u roku od 11 milijuna godina, možda ne bi našao ljude, ili nekoliko različitih ljudskih vrsta, razdvojene svojim različitim sustavima određivanja spola, zaključuje Graves za  Conversation, prenosi Zimo.

Istraživanje australske profesorice otvara niz pitanja, naročito za one koji razmišljaju dugoročno, a ne od danas do sutra. To upućuje na potrebu da se poduzme sve što se može koliko je u ljudskoj moći da utječe na te faktore.

Već nekoliko godina može se pročitati o problemima sa začećem. Te probleme se najčešće veže za promjene u načinu života i prehrane, stresa i sve kasnije zasnivanje bračnih i partnerskih zajednica. Znanstvenu potvrdu tih nagađanja donosi aktualna i zanimljiva studija.

Gen koji određuje muškarce na Y kromosomu odlučuje o spolu djeteta kod čovjeka, a isti je slučaj i s drugim sisavcima. Ipak, ljudski kromosom Y degenerira i mogao bi nestati za nekoliko milijuna godina, što bi moglo dovesti do izumiranja ljudske vrste ako u međuvremenu ne razvijemo novi spolni gen.

Nova znanstvena studija objavljena u časopisu Proceedings of the National Academy of Science pokazuje kako je bodljikavi štakor razvio novi gen koji određuje mužjaka, objasnila je neovisna stručnjakinja Jenny Graves, profesorica genetike s australskog Sveučilišta La Trobe, rezultate tog istraživanja u članku za Conversation, prenosi Zimo.

"Naša tvrdnja o skoroj smrti ljudskog Y-a izazvala je bijes, a do danas postoje tvrdnje i protutvrdnje o očekivanom vijeku trajanja našeg kromosoma Y, procjene variraju između beskonačnosti i nekoliko tisuća godina, kaže Graves referirajući se na vlastito istraživanje objavljeno na portalu Core.

Znanstvenici ipak znaju za dvije vrste glodavaca koje su već izgubile svoj kromosom Y, ali koje su preživjele tu promjenu.

Navodi primjer ranije spomenutog znanstvenog istraživanja japanskih znanstvenika, objavljenom u časopisu PNAS, u kojem je otkriveno da je većina gena na kromosomu Y bodljikavih štakora premještena na druge kromosome. Japanska studija sugerira da taj mali komad dupliciranog DNK-a sadrži prekidač, koji normalno uključuje SOX9 kao odgovor na SRY.

Evolucijski nestanak ljudskog kromosoma Y izazvao je nagađanja o budućnosti ljudske vrste.

Neki gušteri i zmije samo su ženske vrste i mogu napraviti jajašca iz vlastitih gena procesom poznatim kao partenogeneza. Ali to se ne može dogoditi kod ljudi ili drugih sisavaca jer imamo najmanje 30 ključnih ‘utisnutih‘ gena koji rade samo ako dolaze od oca preko sperme. To znači da bi kraj kromosoma Y mogao biti najava izumiranja ljudske rase, pojašnjava Graves.

Japanska studija međutim podupire alternativu - da ljudi mogu razviti novi gen koji određuje spol. To ipak ne dolazi bez vlastitih rizika, tvrdi Graves. Što ako se više od jednog novog sustava razvije u različitim dijelovima svijeta, pita australska stručnjakinja.

Rat spolnih gena mogao bi dovesti do odvajanja novih vrsta, što je upravo ono što se dogodilo s krticama i štakorima. Dakle, ako bi netko posjetio Zemlju u roku od 11 milijuna godina, možda ne bi našao ljude, ili nekoliko različitih ljudskih vrsta, razdvojene svojim različitim sustavima određivanja spola, zaključuje Graves za  Conversation, prenosi Zimo.

Istraživanje australske profesorice otvara niz pitanja, naročito za one koji razmišljaju dugoročno, a ne od danas do sutra. To upućuje na potrebu da se poduzme sve što se može koliko je u ljudskoj moći da utječe na te faktore.
