Djelo britanskog uličnog umjetnika Banksyja prodano je u utorak na aukcijskoj prodaji po rekordnoj cijeni od blizu 20 milijuna eura, koji će biti donirani britanskoj zdravstvenoj službi koja je pod jakim pritiskom pandemije koronavirusa.

"Game Changer", crno bijela posveta radnicima u zdravstvu početno procijenjena na između 2,5 i 3,5 milijuna funti, prodana je u aukcijskoj kući Christie's četiri i puta skuplje, za 16,75 milijuna funti ili 19,45 milijuna eura što daleko premašuje prethodni Banksyjev rekord koji je držao "Parlament majmuna", platno koji predstavlja majmune koji raspravljaju u britanskom parlamentu, prodano 2018. tijekom rasprava o brexitu za 11,5 milijuna eura.

Voditelj dražbe je zahvalio Banksyju na "nevjerojatnoj gesti" i podsjetio da će većina novca biti upotrijebljena za dobrobit medicinskog osoblja i pacijenata bolnice u Southamptonu, na jugu Engleske.

Platno koje je prodano na dan kada Velika Britanija obilježava godišnjicu prve karantene, "Game Changer" predstavlja dječaka koji baca u koš za smeće lutke Batmana i Supermana i igra se lutkom koja predstavlja bolničarku sa zaštitnom maskom na licu.

Banksy je u svibnju 2020. poklonio to djelo bolnici u Southamptonu, tijekom prvog vala pandemije covida-19. Sada će tamo biti postavljena reprodukcija.

Posljednjih godina tajanstveni suvremeni umjetnik iz Bristola, nepoznatog identiteta, drži umjetničke krugove u neizvjesnosti svojim temama poput migranata, protivljenja brexitu, prokazivanja islamista i izaziva kaos na aukcijama.

Planetarno je odjeknulo djelomično i izazovno samouništenje njegovog djela u listopadu 2018., dan nakon što ga je u Sotheby'su u Londonu kupila kolekcionarka za više od milijun eura.

"Game Changer" predstavlja svjetlo nade za osoblje i pacijente u bolnici u Southamptonu i umjetnik je želio na aukciji prodati sliku u korist bolnice", objasnila je direktorica prodaje u Christie'su Katharine Arnold,

Ona je naglasila da djelo odaje priznanje snazi i otporu djelatnika bolnice.

Besplatna državna bolnica je tijekom posljednjeg desetljeća bila podvrgnuta velikim mjerama štednje i zatim ju je zahvatila kriza covida-19 kojoj je u Velikoj Britaniji umrlo više od 126.000 oboljelih, najviše u Europi.

Djelo britanskog uličnog umjetnika Banksyja prodano je u utorak na aukcijskoj prodaji po rekordnoj cijeni od blizu 20 milijuna eura, koji će biti donirani britanskoj zdravstvenoj službi koja je pod jakim pritiskom pandemije koronavirusa.

"Game Changer", crno bijela posveta radnicima u zdravstvu početno procijenjena na između 2,5 i 3,5 milijuna funti, prodana je u aukcijskoj kući Christie's četiri i puta skuplje, za 16,75 milijuna funti ili 19,45 milijuna eura što daleko premašuje prethodni Banksyjev rekord koji je držao "Parlament majmuna", platno koji predstavlja majmune koji raspravljaju u britanskom parlamentu, prodano 2018. tijekom rasprava o brexitu za 11,5 milijuna eura.

Djelo britanskog uličnog umjetnika Banksyja prodano je u utorak na aukcijskoj prodaji po rekordnoj cijeni od blizu 20 milijuna eura, koji će biti donirani britanskoj zdravstvenoj službi koja je pod jakim pritiskom pandemije koronavirusa.

"Game Changer", crno bijela posveta radnicima u zdravstvu početno procijenjena na između 2,5 i 3,5 milijuna funti, prodana je u aukcijskoj kući Christie's četiri i puta skuplje, za 16,75 milijuna funti ili 19,45 milijuna eura što daleko premašuje prethodni Banksyjev rekord koji je držao "Parlament majmuna", platno koji predstavlja majmune koji raspravljaju u britanskom parlamentu, prodano 2018. tijekom rasprava o brexitu za 11,5 milijuna eura.
