Sjaj u očima Petra Popovića primjetan je svaki put kad se dotakne tema o košarci, napose, u vrijeme odlučivanja tko će postati prvakom Hrvatske. Popoviću senioru, prijao je naš poziv kako bi dočarao draž finala, jer nema onoga tko ne pamti kako je upravo njegova "zlatna ruka" 1986. Zadranima donijela nemalo razloga za "košarkašku groznicu". Nije previše ni ovoga puta oklijevao Pop, odmah je zaronio u priču o finalistima....
- Što reći nego da je to veliki rezultat za Zadar i Split jer se sve odigravalo u vrijeme pandemije koja je uvelike ubila onu draž koju kao sport nudi košarka. Osobito to vrijedi za Zadar, gdje se unatoč tome što se evo, osam godina čekalo finale, a trinaest od zadnjeg naslova prvaka. Istina, osvojilo se Kup lani i ove sezone, međutim, prvenstva je ona kruna koju svi žele uzeti. Možda me neki neće shvatiti ili dobro primiti moju misao kako bi Zadar svake godine trebao igrati u finalu za prvaka države – iskreno će Popović, koji je u istom tonu iznio još jedan zaključak...
- Meni je žao što u finalu nije Cibona , jer nema većeg gušta od toga nego kad dobiješ njih. Ali, mora se priznati kako je Split napravio jedan zanimljiv iskorak, što su potvrdile njihove zadnje utakmice . Doslovce su pomeli SPARS-e i Cibonu, što je u konačnici veliko upozorenje Zadru, jer su baš u naletu – misli Popović, koji nije mogao propustiti ni misao o tome kako se kroz dalmatnsko finale i dvobojima Zadra i Splita košarka vratila kući.
- Košarka bez dalmatinskih klubova , konkretno ove sezone Zadra i Splita, te nekoć jake Šibenka, nikako ne bi imala status kojeg je imala kroz povijest. Jeste, slažem se s mnogima kako to nije ona razina kvalitete, ali kad pogledate u "rostere" mnogih klubova u Hrvatskoj, najviše je Zadrana, Splićana, Šibenčana te iz drugih dalmatinskih gradova i mjesta. Ovdje su korijeni košarke, sve najbolje što se moglo dati ponudila je Dalmacija, čast ostalim izuzecima, ali većina je većina – kazao je Popović.
Kao vjernom pratitelju košarkaških zbivanja, njemu je također poznata činjenica kako je Zadar u zadnja tri ogleda slavio, k tomu i osvojio Kup upravo protiv "žutih" u Omišu.
- Istina, u Kupu je Zadar doista odigrao zrelo baš onako kako se igra u utakmicama u kojima se odlučuje pitanje pobjednika koji će u konačnici uzeti pehar ili odličje. Ali, iz iskustva znam kako to može biti veliki uteg u smislu da se momčad " uljulja" u tim pobjedama, opusti i pomisli kako će doći samo od sebe. Nikako se ne smije razmišljati na takav način, iako prema mojoj skromnoj procjeni Zadar je favorit. Nekako je i sazrijelo vrijeme da se poslije trinaest godina proslavi i titula prvaka Hrvatske. Samo pomalo, korak po korak do cilje – zaključio je Popović.
Utakmica se igra u srijedu s početkom u 18 sati uz izravan TV prijenos u programu Arenasport 1.

U utorak je u Zadru izaslanstvo KK Zadar, na dan prije 26 godina kad nas je napustio jedan od najvećih igrača u povijesti košarke, Krešimir Ćosić.
"Krešo je bio čovjek ispred svog vremena, bio je veliki sportaš i čovjek koji je bio pravi Zadranin u svakom smislu.
U čast našeg najvećeg igrača u povijesti, naš kapetan Dominik Mavra, trener Veljko Mršić i direktor kluba Željko Žilavec položili su vijenac ispred Krešinog kipa ispred iste dvorane koja nosi njegovo ime – poručili su iz kluba, ne propustivši dometnuti,
Upravo zbog Kreše, Zadar je poznat kao Grad košarke. "Zovu Lakersi, ali zove i Zadar..."

Sjaj u očima Petra Popovića primjetan je svaki put kad se dotakne tema o košarci, napose, u vrijeme odlučivanja tko će postati prvakom Hrvatske. Popoviću senioru, prijao je naš poziv kako bi dočarao draž finala, jer nema onoga tko ne pamti kako je upravo njegova "zlatna ruka" 1986. Zadranima donijela nemalo razloga za "košarkašku groznicu". Nije previše ni ovoga puta oklijevao Pop, odmah je zaronio u priču o finalistima....
- Što reći nego da je to veliki rezultat za Zadar i Split jer se sve odigravalo u vrijeme pandemije koja je uvelike ubila onu draž koju kao sport nudi košarka. Osobito to vrijedi za Zadar, gdje se unatoč tome što se evo, osam godina čekalo finale, a trinaest od zadnjeg naslova prvaka. Istina, osvojilo se Kup lani i ove sezone, međutim, prvenstva je ona kruna koju svi žele uzeti. Možda me neki neće shvatiti ili dobro primiti moju misao kako bi Zadar svake godine trebao igrati u finalu za prvaka države – iskreno će Popović, koji je u istom tonu iznio još jedan zaključak...
- Meni je žao što u finalu nije Cibona , jer nema većeg gušta od toga nego kad dobiješ njih. Ali, mora se priznati kako je Split napravio jedan zanimljiv iskorak, što su potvrdile njihove zadnje utakmice . Doslovce su pomeli SPARS-e i Cibonu, što je u konačnici veliko upozorenje Zadru, jer su baš u naletu – misli Popović, koji nije mogao propustiti ni misao o tome kako se kroz dalmatnsko finale i dvobojima Zadra i Splita košarka vratila kući.
- Košarka bez dalmatinskih klubova , konkretno ove sezone Zadra i Splita, te nekoć jake Šibenka, nikako ne bi imala status kojeg je imala kroz povijest. Jeste, slažem se s mnogima kako to nije ona razina kvalitete, ali kad pogledate u "rostere" mnogih klubova u Hrvatskoj, najviše je Zadrana, Splićana, Šibenčana te iz drugih dalmatinskih gradova i mjesta. Ovdje su korijeni košarke, sve najbolje što se moglo dati ponudila je Dalmacija, čast ostalim izuzecima, ali većina je većina – kazao je Popović.
Kao vjernom pratitelju košarkaških zbivanja, njemu je također poznata činjenica kako je Zadar u zadnja tri ogleda slavio, k tomu i osvojio Kup upravo protiv "žutih" u Omišu.
- Istina, u Kupu je Zadar doista odigrao zrelo baš onako kako se igra u utakmicama u kojima se odlučuje pitanje pobjednika koji će u konačnici uzeti pehar ili odličje. Ali, iz iskustva znam kako to može biti veliki uteg u smislu da se momčad " uljulja" u tim pobjedama, opusti i pomisli kako će doći samo od sebe. Nikako se ne smije razmišljati na takav način, iako prema mojoj skromnoj procjeni Zadar je favorit. Nekako je i sazrijelo vrijeme da se poslije trinaest godina proslavi i titula prvaka Hrvatske. Samo pomalo, korak po korak do cilje – zaključio je Popović.

U utorak je u Zadru izaslanstvo KK Zadar, na dan prije 26 godina kad nas je napustio jedan od najvećih igrača u povijesti košarke, Krešimir Ćosić.
"Krešo je bio čovjek ispred svog vremena, bio je veliki sportaš i čovjek koji je bio pravi Zadranin u svakom smislu.
U čast našeg najvećeg igrača u povijesti, naš kapetan Dominik Mavra, trener Veljko Mršić i direktor kluba Željko Žilavec položili su vijenac ispred Krešinog kipa ispred iste dvorane koja nosi njegovo ime – poručili su iz kluba, ne propustivši dometnuti,
Upravo zbog Kreše, Zadar je poznat kao Grad košarke. "Zovu Lakersi, ali zove i Zadar..."
