Sjedinjene Države u ponedjeljak su osudile najavu Irana da će pokrenuti gradnju 10 novih pogona za obogaćivanja urana, nazivajući tu odluku "neprihvatljivom" i ozbiljnim kršenjem rezolucija Vijeća sigurnosti UN-a, koje vodi Teheran u daljnju izolaciju.

- Iransku objavu, ako je činjenično točna i primjenjena, da namjeravaju graditi 10 dodatnih objekata, vidimo kao potpuno neprimjerenu i daljnju izolaciju Irana od međunarodne zajednice - izjavila je u New Yorku veleposlanica SAD pri UN-u Susan Rice.

Novi napori Teherana oko obogaćivanja urana "bili bi još jedno ozbiljno kršenje jasnih obveza Irana prema rezolucijama Vijeća sigurnosti UN i novi primjer da se Iran odlučio sam izolirati", rekao je glasnogovornik Bijele kuće Robert Gibbs.

Glasnogovornik State Departmenta Ian Kelly rekao je u ponedjeljak kako SAD razgovara sa saveznicima o alternativama ako diplomatska inicijativa prema Iranu ne donese rezultata, te dodao kako ne misli da je vrijeme za razgovor o "određenim sankcijama".

- Ako oni (Iran) ne mogu pozitivno odgovoriti na tu ponudu mi ćemo se početi okretati na drugu stranu, na stranu pritiska - rekao je Kelly o ponudi velikih sila da se obogaćivanje iranskog urana obavi u inozemstvu, što je Teheran odbio.

Iranski predsjednik Mahmud Ahmadinedžad objavio je u nedjelju da će njegova zemlja graditi 10 novih objekata za obogaćivanje urana, te da će radovi na prvih pet početi u iduća dva mjeseca.

Potez je otvorena provokacija međunarodnoj zajednici nakon što je prošloga tjedna Međunarodna agencija za atomsku energiju (IAEA) rezolucijom osudila netransparentnost Irana oko njegovog nuklearnog programa i zatražila zatvaranje pogona za obogaćivanje, koji je u tajnosti građen kod grada Koma, ocjenjuju američki mediji, podsjećajući da je Iran i ranije najavljivao gradnju novih pogona takve vrste, od čega obično nije bilo ništa.

Ahmadinedžad je ustvrdio da Iran zbog sve većih potreba za električnom energijom mora godišnje proizvoditi 250 do 300 tona nuklearnog goriva, odnosno urana obogaćenog do razine od 20 posto.

SAD, Rusija i Francuska ponudile su Iranu pod okriljem IAEA da se oko 70 posto njegovog niskoobogaćenog urana ili oko 1200 kg, u Rusiji dalje obogati do razine od 20 posto a u Francuskoj preradi u gorive šipke za uporabu u medicinsko-istraživačkom laboratoriju u Teheranu, koji služi proizvodnji medicinskih izotopa.

Za razvoj nuklearnog oružja, za koji međunarodna zajednica sumnjiči Iran, potreban je uran obogaćen do razine od najmanje 85 posto.

Sjedinjene Države u ponedjeljak su osudile najavu Irana da će pokrenuti gradnju 10 novih pogona za obogaćivanja urana, nazivajući tu odluku "neprihvatljivom" i ozbiljnim kršenjem rezolucija Vijeća sigurnosti UN-a, koje vodi Teheran u daljnju izolaciju.

- Iransku objavu, ako je činjenično točna i primjenjena, da namjeravaju graditi 10 dodatnih objekata, vidimo kao potpuno neprimjerenu i daljnju izolaciju Irana od međunarodne zajednice - izjavila je u New Yorku veleposlanica SAD pri UN-u Susan Rice.

Novi napori Teherana oko obogaćivanja urana "bili bi još jedno ozbiljno kršenje jasnih obveza Irana prema rezolucijama Vijeća sigurnosti UN i novi primjer da se Iran odlučio sam izolirati", rekao je glasnogovornik Bijele kuće Robert Gibbs.

Glasnogovornik State Departmenta Ian Kelly rekao je u ponedjeljak kako SAD razgovara sa saveznicima o alternativama ako diplomatska inicijativa prema Iranu ne donese rezultata, te dodao kako ne misli da je vrijeme za razgovor o "određenim sankcijama".

- Ako oni (Iran) ne mogu pozitivno odgovoriti na tu ponudu mi ćemo se početi okretati na drugu stranu, na stranu pritiska - rekao je Kelly o ponudi velikih sila da se obogaćivanje iranskog urana obavi u inozemstvu, što je Teheran odbio.

Iranski predsjednik Mahmud Ahmadinedžad objavio je u nedjelju da će njegova zemlja graditi 10 novih objekata za obogaćivanje urana, te da će radovi na prvih pet početi u iduća dva mjeseca.

Potez je otvorena provokacija međunarodnoj zajednici nakon što je prošloga tjedna Međunarodna agencija za atomsku energiju (IAEA) rezolucijom osudila netransparentnost Irana oko njegovog nuklearnog programa i zatražila zatvaranje pogona za obogaćivanje, koji je u tajnosti građen kod grada Koma, ocjenjuju američki mediji, podsjećajući da je Iran i ranije najavljivao gradnju novih pogona takve vrste, od čega obično nije bilo ništa.

Ahmadinedžad je ustvrdio da Iran zbog sve većih potreba za električnom energijom mora godišnje proizvoditi 250 do 300 tona nuklearnog goriva, odnosno urana obogaćenog do razine od 20 posto.

SAD, Rusija i Francuska ponudile su Iranu pod okriljem IAEA da se oko 70 posto njegovog niskoobogaćenog urana ili oko 1200 kg, u Rusiji dalje obogati do razine od 20 posto a u Francuskoj preradi u gorive šipke za uporabu u medicinsko-istraživačkom laboratoriju u Teheranu, koji služi proizvodnji medicinskih izotopa.

Za razvoj nuklearnog oružja, za koji međunarodna zajednica sumnjiči Iran, potreban je uran obogaćen do razine od najmanje 85 posto.
