Fatah je u subotu ponovno izabrao palestinskog predsjednika Mahmuda Abasa za predsjednika te laičke stranke, petog dana svog prvog kongresa u 20 godina postojanja, koji je obilježila burna rasprava o načinima ponovnog oživljavanja te stranke.

Oko 2.000 izaslanika koji sudjeluju na kongresu u Betlehemu, na Zapadnoj obali, jednoglasno su dizanjem ruke izabrali Abasa za predsjednika, rekao je predsjednik kongresa Otman Abu Garbije.

Izbor novog Glavnog odbora s 21 članom i Revolucionarnog vijeća sa 120 članova koji je bio planiran za petak, a zatim u subotu, na koncu će se održati u nedjelju ujutro, kako su nešto ranije izvijestili čelnici pokreta.

Kongres bi trebao trajati tri dana, ali je produljen zbog neslaganja između starih članova stranke i mladih izaslanika. Ovi potonji žele imati veću ulogu i traže opći preustroj stranke.

Fatah je preuzeo vlast u ruke unutar Palestinske samouprave prije nego ga je na parlamentarnim izborima 2006. porazio islamistički pokret Hamas koji ga je zatim 2007. nasilu protjerao iz Pojasa Gaze. Njegova je vlast otada ograničena na Zapadnu obalu koju je okupirala izraelska vojska.

Propadanje stranke počelo je 2004., nakon smrti njezina utemeljitelja i povijesnog vođe Jasera Arafata kojega je Abas zamijenio na dužnosti predsjednika Fataha i Palestinske samouprave.

Fatah će na kongresu donijeti i novi politički program. Pokret se zalaže za pregovore s Izraelom radi rješenja sukoba, ali će u svom programu staviti naglasak na "pravo palestinskog naroda na sve oblike otpora kako bi ponovno stekao svoja prava", rekao je u petak čelnik Fataha Nabil Šat.

Fatah je u subotu ponovno izabrao palestinskog predsjednika Mahmuda Abasa za predsjednika te laičke stranke, petog dana svog prvog kongresa u 20 godina postojanja, koji je obilježila burna rasprava o načinima ponovnog oživljavanja te stranke.

Oko 2.000 izaslanika koji sudjeluju na kongresu u Betlehemu, na Zapadnoj obali, jednoglasno su dizanjem ruke izabrali Abasa za predsjednika, rekao je predsjednik kongresa Otman Abu Garbije.

Izbor novog Glavnog odbora s 21 članom i Revolucionarnog vijeća sa 120 članova koji je bio planiran za petak, a zatim u subotu, na koncu će se održati u nedjelju ujutro, kako su nešto ranije izvijestili čelnici pokreta.

Kongres bi trebao trajati tri dana, ali je produljen zbog neslaganja između starih članova stranke i mladih izaslanika. Ovi potonji žele imati veću ulogu i traže opći preustroj stranke.

Fatah je preuzeo vlast u ruke unutar Palestinske samouprave prije nego ga je na parlamentarnim izborima 2006. porazio islamistički pokret Hamas koji ga je zatim 2007. nasilu protjerao iz Pojasa Gaze. Njegova je vlast otada ograničena na Zapadnu obalu koju je okupirala izraelska vojska.

Propadanje stranke počelo je 2004., nakon smrti njezina utemeljitelja i povijesnog vođe Jasera Arafata kojega je Abas zamijenio na dužnosti predsjednika Fataha i Palestinske samouprave.

Fatah će na kongresu donijeti i novi politički program. Pokret se zalaže za pregovore s Izraelom radi rješenja sukoba, ali će u svom programu staviti naglasak na "pravo palestinskog naroda na sve oblike otpora kako bi ponovno stekao svoja prava", rekao je u petak čelnik Fataha Nabil Šat.
