Može li se čovjek zaraziti koronavirusom preko pasa i mačaka, ili stoke? Pitanje je to koje muči brojne, a posljednjih dana svjedoče mu hrvatski veterinari, koji su na udaru zabrinutih građana.

Da pojasnimo, psi i mačke obolijevaju od standardnih, već uobičajenih životinjskih podtipova koronavirusa. Obolijevali su i lani i prije deset godina, a zasigurno i prije nekoliko stoljeća. I niti jedan veterinar nam nije želio potvrditi soluciju po kojoj bi se mačji ili pseći koronavirus mogao u bliskom suživotu prebaciti na čovjeka.

Isto kao što neće potvrditi slučaj prebacivanja ljudske gripe na životinju iz njegove blizine. Mačji ili pseći koronavirus, kažu nam veterinari koje smo kontaktirali, kod životinja uglavnom prođe bez većih posljedica. Vlasnik eventualno može primijetiti određene kratkotrajne, maksimalno dvodnevne probavne probleme, povraćanja ili proljeve. Koje opet eventualno može povezati uz prehladu, standardnu crijevnu virozu, neadekvatnu hranu…

- U psećoj populaciji čak 70 posto pasa, kažu veterinarske statistike, u nekom je dijelu života bilo zaraženo određenim podtipom životinjskog koronavirusa. Riječ je o blažim infektima koji prođu sami od sebe. Ništa posebno alarmantno. Opasniji mogu biti tek kod štenaca ili starijih oslabljelih pasa, koji imaju narušeni imunološki sustav. O eventualnom prijenosu psećeg virusa na ljude nikada nisam razmišljao. Niti sam u praksi, a ona je već duga, ikada svjedočio takvoj mogućnosti. Da, netko će reći, a kako se to onda dogodilo u Kini? Da, ali mogu ja isto tako reći da mi ne jedemo ni pse, ni mačke. Kao ni cibetke, ljuskavce, zmije, štakore, velike šišmiše…

Nije u našoj kulturi na tanjur stavljati takve životinje, kao što to oni rade. A kao što se vidi, i sam sam i živ i zdrav, i u svakodnevnom suživotu sa životinjama – kaže dr. med. vet. Dean Gracin iz splitske Veterinarske ambulante “Anima”.

Veterinari odbacuju mogućnost prijenosa psećeg ili mačjeg koronasoja na ljude, tvrdeći da bi onda vođeni takvom logikom većina njih, kao i vlasnici kućnih ljubimaca ili farmeri, već davno ležali na grobljima.

Može li se čovjek zaraziti koronavirusom preko pasa i mačaka, ili stoke? Pitanje je to koje muči brojne, a posljednjih dana svjedoče mu hrvatski veterinari, koji su na udaru zabrinutih građana.

Da pojasnimo, psi i mačke obolijevaju od standardnih, već uobičajenih životinjskih podtipova koronavirusa. Obolijevali su i lani i prije deset godina, a zasigurno i prije nekoliko stoljeća. I niti jedan veterinar nam nije želio potvrditi soluciju po kojoj bi se mačji ili pseći koronavirus mogao u bliskom suživotu prebaciti na čovjeka.

Isto kao što neće potvrditi slučaj prebacivanja ljudske gripe na životinju iz njegove blizine. Mačji ili pseći koronavirus, kažu nam veterinari koje smo kontaktirali, kod životinja uglavnom prođe bez većih posljedica. Vlasnik eventualno može primijetiti određene kratkotrajne, maksimalno dvodnevne probavne probleme, povraćanja ili proljeve. Koje opet eventualno može povezati uz prehladu, standardnu crijevnu virozu, neadekvatnu hranu…

- U psećoj populaciji čak 70 posto pasa, kažu veterinarske statistike, u nekom je dijelu života bilo zaraženo određenim podtipom životinjskog koronavirusa. Riječ je o blažim infektima koji prođu sami od sebe. Ništa posebno alarmantno. Opasniji mogu biti tek kod štenaca ili starijih oslabljelih pasa, koji imaju narušeni imunološki sustav. O eventualnom prijenosu psećeg virusa na ljude nikada nisam razmišljao. Niti sam u praksi, a ona je već duga, ikada svjedočio takvoj mogućnosti. Da, netko će reći, a kako se to onda dogodilo u Kini? Da, ali mogu ja isto tako reći da mi ne jedemo ni pse, ni mačke. Kao ni cibetke, ljuskavce, zmije, štakore, velike šišmiše…

Nije u našoj kulturi na tanjur stavljati takve životinje, kao što to oni rade. A kao što se vidi, i sam sam i živ i zdrav, i u svakodnevnom suživotu sa životinjama – kaže dr. med. vet. Dean Gracin iz splitske Veterinarske ambulante “Anima”.

Veterinari odbacuju mogućnost prijenosa psećeg ili mačjeg koronasoja na ljude, tvrdeći da bi onda vođeni takvom logikom većina njih, kao i vlasnici kućnih ljubimaca ili farmeri, već davno ležali na grobljima.

Koje opet eventualno može povezati uz prehladu, standardnu crijevnu virozu, neadekvatnu hranu…

- U psećoj populaciji čak 70 posto pasa, kažu veterinarske statistike, u nekom je dijelu života bilo zaraženo određenim podtipom životinjskog koronavirusa. Riječ je o blažim infektima koji prođu sami od sebe. Ništa posebno alarmantno. Opasniji mogu biti tek kod štenaca ili starijih oslabljelih pasa, koji imaju narušeni imunološki sustav. O eventualnom prijenosu psećeg virusa na ljude nikada nisam razmišljao. Niti sam u praksi, a ona je već duga, ikada svjedočio takvoj mogućnosti. Da, netko će reći, a kako se to onda dogodilo u Kini? Da, ali mogu ja isto tako reći da mi ne jedemo ni pse, ni mačke. Kao ni cibetke, ljuskavce, zmije, štakore, velike šišmiše…

Nije u našoj kulturi na tanjur stavljati takve životinje, kao što to oni rade. A kao što se vidi, i sam sam i živ i zdrav, i u svakodnevnom suživotu sa životinjama – kaže dr. med. vet. Dean Gracin iz splitske Veterinarske ambulante “Anima”.

Veterinari odbacuju mogućnost prijenosa psećeg ili mačjeg koronasoja na ljude, tvrdeći da bi onda vođeni takvom logikom većina njih, kao i vlasnici kućnih ljubimaca ili farmeri, već davno ležali na grobljima.
