Indija je od Velike Britanije 1987. godine kupila nosač zrakoplova klase Centaur HMS Hermes, izgrađen još 1953. u brodogradilištu Vickers-Armstrong. Indijci su ga preimenovali u INS Viraat i uvrstili ga u sastav svoje mornarice 12. svibnja 1987., u kojoj je služio sve do 2016. godine. Otada se nagađa što će biti s jednim od najstarijih nosača zrakoplova na svijetu, koji je, usput rečeno, pod britanskom zastavom sudjelovao i u Falklandskom ratu 1982. godine. Kružile su priče kako će nosač dug 226 metara, sposoban za transport 26 borbenih zrakoplova, postati ploveći hotel ili muzej. Međutim, Indijci su naposljetku donijeli odluku da ode u rezalište i od starog metala s njega izrađivat će se Royal Enfield i drugi motocikli. (Ž. S.)

Indija je od Velike Britanije 1987. godine kupila nosač zrakoplova klase Centaur HMS Hermes, izgrađen još 1953. u brodogradilištu Vickers-Armstrong. Indijci su ga preimenovali u INS Viraat i uvrstili ga u sastav svoje mornarice 12. svibnja 1987., u kojoj je služio sve do 2016. godine. Otada se nagađa što će biti s jednim od najstarijih nosača zrakoplova na svijetu, koji je, usput rečeno, pod britanskom zastavom sudjelovao i u Falklandskom ratu 1982. godine. Kružile su priče kako će nosač dug 226 metara, sposoban za transport 26 borbenih zrakoplova, postati ploveći hotel ili muzej. Međutim, Indijci su naposljetku donijeli odluku da ode u rezalište i od starog metala s njega izrađivat će se Royal Enfield i drugi motocikli. (Ž. S.)

INDIJAStari nosač zrakoplova završio u rezalištu, a od njega će se izrađivati motocikli

Indija je od Velike Britanije 1987. godine kupila nosač zrakoplova klase Centaur HMS Hermes, izgrađen još 1953. u brodogradilištu Vickers-Armstrong. Indijci su ga preimenovali u INS Viraat i uvrstili ga u sastav svoje mornarice 12. svibnja 1987., u kojoj je služio sve do 2016. godine. Otada se nagađa što će biti s jednim od najstarijih nosača zrakoplova na svijetu, koji je, usput rečeno, pod britanskom zastavom sudjelovao i u Falklandskom ratu 1982. godine. Kružile su priče kako će nosač dug 226 metara, sposoban za transport 26 borbenih zrakoplova, postati ploveći hotel ili muzej. Međutim, Indijci su naposljetku donijeli odluku da ode u rezalište i od starog metala s njega izrađivat će se Royal Enfield i drugi motocikli. (Ž. S.)
