Nepotrebno je više i na koji način napominjati u kojoj je mjeri pandemija promijenila naše živote, ali sudeći prema podacima pogrebnih poduzeća koja nude neuobičajene usluge, ona je izmijenila i naš pogled na smrt. Sve veći broj ljudi odustaje od ideje klasičnog pogreba i odlučuju se za nekonvencionalna mjesta počivališta i ispraćaje.

Ljudi umiru svakoga dana što je potpuno prirodno i normalno, a o tome razmišljamo samo kad smo mi sami ili naši bližnji životno ugroženi. Međutim, u posljednjih godinu dana svaki dan se budimo uz podatak o tome koliko ljudi je izgubilo život u borbi s koronavirusom i to je izmijenilo našu sliku o smrti. Čini se da su mnogi počeli razmišljati o smrti kao integralnom dijelu života i pokušavaju je na neki način isplanirati, a kako na svoj mementum mori u većini slučajeva nemamo utjecaja najbolji način da se u tome uspije je planiranjem vlastitog pogreba. Tako barem kažu vlasnici kompanija koje se bave inovativnim načinima ukapanja.

Eternal reefs tj. Vječni greben, je tvrtka iz Floride koja kaže da je interes za njenu poprilično neobičnu uslugu porastao tijekom pandemije. Još od 1998. kompanija nudi mogućnost pretvaranja posmrtnih ostataka u umjetne grebene na dnu oceana. Proces izgleda tako da se pokojnika kremira a njegov pepeo pomiješa s ekološki prihvatljivom betonskom smjesom koja se postavlja na odabrane lokacije.

"Pandemija je apsolutno ubrzala interes i vjerujem da je mnogim ljudima otvorila concept netradicionalnog pokopa", kaže George Frankel, izvršni direktor Eternal reefsa za BBC i dodaje kako su samo prošle godine postavili više od 2000 grebana diljem istočne obale SAD-a.

Međutim nisu samo ljubitelji plavetnila pronašli alternative za svoj ukop, i drugi su počeli kreativno razmišljati što učiniti sa svojim posmrtnim ostacima. Za ljude koji žele da njihovo posljednje počivalište bude na kopnu i tako pruže voljenima da ga dođu posjetiti tvrtka Recompose sa sjedištem u Seattleu razvila je tehnologiju "ljudskog kompostiranja" koja mrtva tijela pretvara u tlo.

Tijelo se prvo u zapečaćenom čeličnom cilindru mjesec dana odmara sa slamom, piljevinom uz kontroliranu razinu ugljičnog dioksida, dušika, kisika, topline i vlage kako bi mikrobi i bakterije uspjeli napredovati. Nakon što prođe rečeni period tri kubika zemlje se uklanja iz cilindra kako bi na zraku stajalo još par tjedana i dobiva se gotovo tlo koje se zatim raširi u šumama države Washington. Isto tako dio mogu uzeti pokojnikovi bližnji i na njemu posaditi drvo koje simbolizira ponovno rađanje.

Katrina Spade, koja je osnovala tvrtku 2017. godine, baš kao vlasnik Vječnog grebena kaže da je od početka pandemije zabilježila velik porast interesa i prijava. “Tako ljudi odlučuju za opciju da kada umru naprave nešto lijepo za planet, a mnogi nam kažu da im to pruža osjećaj nade i utjehe.”

I dok jedni traže mir i polaganost drugima je bliža avantura, čak i u smrti. Zbog toga firma Calestis već 20 godina šalje pepeo preminulih u svemir. Charles Chafer, suosnivač i glavni izvršni direktor kaže da njihovo poslovanje također raste, ali osim pandemiji to duguju i napretku tehnologije i pojeftinjenju komercijalnih svemirskih letova.

Razlog povećanja mogućnosti što se sve može učiniti s posmrtnim ostacima voljene osobe dolazi usporedno sa sve većim brojem kremacija. U SAD-u je 56 posto ljudi koji su umrli prošle godine kremirano, a očekuje se da će se to povećati na 78 posto u sljedećih 20 godina dok je u 60-im godinama prošlog stoljeća ta je brojka bila samo 4 posto. Slično se događa i u Velikoj Britaniji gdje je 60-ih bilo kremirano 35 posto ljudi, a u 2019. ih je bilo 78 posto.

Jedan od najdirektnijih primjera kako je pandemija utjecala na pogrebe je zabranom prisustvovanja svih onih ljudi koji bi htjeli odati počast pokojniku. Broj ljudi koji smiju sudjelovati na sprovodima varira od zemlje do zemlje, ali svugdje je uvelike smanjen. Čak i na pogrebu princa Philipa našla se tek najuža obitelj i prijatelji, samo za kralja Zagreba učinila se iznimka. E pa baš kao što je pola svijeta pratilo ukop preminulog princa, a na Trgu Republike Hrvatske su građani glavnoga grada su mogli da su htjeli gledati sprovod gradonačelnika, tako se i sada sve veći broj 'običnih' ljudi odlučuje snimati i live prenositi sprovode svojih bližnjih. 

Tvrtka Tribucast iz New Yorka bavi se live streamingom sprovoda koji mogu pratiti svi pogrebnikovi bližnji bez obzira u kojem dijelu svijeta se nalazili, a vlasnik Bruce Likly kaže da mu službeni telefoni nisu prestali zvoniti u proteklih godinu dana. "Naše poslovanje od osnivanja firme 2017. dramatično je raslo", kaže on. "Mislimo da je riječ o trendu koji se već osjećao, a koji je pandemija samo katalizirala.” Dinamika obitelji i prijateljstva se promijenila i dok je prije krug bliskih ljudi živio u istom geografskom području danas je normalno da smo raštrkani diljem zemlje pa i svijeta zbog čega su ovakve usluge i nevezano za pandemiju sve potrebnije, posebno uzme li se u obzir da neke religije zahtijevaju ukop u roku od 24 sata.

Nepotrebno je više i na koji način napominjati u kojoj je mjeri pandemija promijenila naše živote, ali sudeći prema podacima pogrebnih poduzeća koja nude neuobičajene usluge, ona je izmijenila i naš pogled na smrt. Sve veći broj ljudi odustaje od ideje klasičnog pogreba i odlučuju se za nekonvencionalna mjesta počivališta i ispraćaje.

Ljudi umiru svakoga dana što je potpuno prirodno i normalno, a o tome razmišljamo samo kad smo mi sami ili naši bližnji životno ugroženi. Međutim, u posljednjih godinu dana svaki dan se budimo uz podatak o tome koliko ljudi je izgubilo život u borbi s koronavirusom i to je izmijenilo našu sliku o smrti. Čini se da su mnogi počeli razmišljati o smrti kao integralnom dijelu života i pokušavaju je na neki način isplanirati, a kako na svoj mementum mori u većini slučajeva nemamo utjecaja najbolji način da se u tome uspije je planiranjem vlastitog pogreba. Tako barem kažu vlasnici kompanija koje se bave inovativnim načinima ukapanja.

Eternal reefs tj. Vječni greben, je tvrtka iz Floride koja kaže da je interes za njenu poprilično neobičnu uslugu porastao tijekom pandemije. Još od 1998. kompanija nudi mogućnost pretvaranja posmrtnih ostataka u umjetne grebene na dnu oceana. Proces izgleda tako da se pokojnika kremira a njegov pepeo pomiješa s ekološki prihvatljivom betonskom smjesom koja se postavlja na odabrane lokacije.

"Pandemija je apsolutno ubrzala interes i vjerujem da je mnogim ljudima otvorila concept netradicionalnog pokopa", kaže George Frankel, izvršni direktor Eternal reefsa za BBC i dodaje kako su samo prošle godine postavili više od 2000 grebana diljem istočne obale SAD-a.

Međutim nisu samo ljubitelji plavetnila pronašli alternative za svoj ukop, i drugi su počeli kreativno razmišljati što učiniti sa svojim posmrtnim ostacima. Za ljude koji žele da njihovo posljednje počivalište bude na kopnu i tako pruže voljenima da ga dođu posjetiti tvrtka Recompose sa sjedištem u Seattleu razvila je tehnologiju "ljudskog kompostiranja" koja mrtva tijela pretvara u tlo.

Tijelo se prvo u zapečaćenom čeličnom cilindru mjesec dana odmara sa slamom, piljevinom uz kontroliranu razinu ugljičnog dioksida, dušika, kisika, topline i vlage kako bi mikrobi i bakterije uspjeli napredovati. Nakon što prođe rečeni period tri kubika zemlje se uklanja iz cilindra kako bi na zraku stajalo još par tjedana i dobiva se gotovo tlo koje se zatim raširi u šumama države Washington. Isto tako dio mogu uzeti pokojnikovi bližnji i na njemu posaditi drvo koje simbolizira ponovno rađanje.

Katrina Spade, koja je osnovala tvrtku 2017. godine, baš kao vlasnik Vječnog grebena kaže da je od početka pandemije zabilježila velik porast interesa i prijava. “Tako ljudi odlučuju za opciju da kada umru naprave nešto lijepo za planet, a mnogi nam kažu da im to pruža osjećaj nade i utjehe.”

I dok jedni traže mir i polaganost drugima je bliža avantura, čak i u smrti. Zbog toga firma Calestis već 20 godina šalje pepeo preminulih u svemir. Charles Chafer, suosnivač i glavni izvršni direktor kaže da njihovo poslovanje također raste, ali osim pandemiji to duguju i napretku tehnologije i pojeftinjenju komercijalnih svemirskih letova.

Razlog povećanja mogućnosti što se sve može učiniti s posmrtnim ostacima voljene osobe dolazi usporedno sa sve većim brojem kremacija. U SAD-u je 56 posto ljudi koji su umrli prošle godine kremirano, a očekuje se da će se to povećati na 78 posto u sljedećih 20 godina dok je u 60-im godinama prošlog stoljeća ta je brojka bila samo 4 posto. Slično se događa i u Velikoj Britaniji gdje je 60-ih bilo kremirano 35 posto ljudi, a u 2019. ih je bilo 78 posto.

Jedan od najdirektnijih primjera kako je pandemija utjecala na pogrebe je zabranom prisustvovanja svih onih ljudi koji bi htjeli odati počast pokojniku. Broj ljudi koji smiju sudjelovati na sprovodima varira od zemlje do zemlje, ali svugdje je uvelike smanjen. Čak i na pogrebu princa Philipa našla se tek najuža obitelj i prijatelji, samo za kralja Zagreba učinila se iznimka. E pa baš kao što je pola svijeta pratilo ukop preminulog princa, a na Trgu Republike Hrvatske su građani glavnoga grada su mogli da su htjeli gledati sprovod gradonačelnika, tako se i sada sve veći broj 'običnih' ljudi odlučuje snimati i live prenositi sprovode svojih bližnjih. 

Tvrtka Tribucast iz New Yorka bavi se live streamingom sprovoda koji mogu pratiti svi pogrebnikovi bližnji bez obzira u kojem dijelu svijeta se nalazili, a vlasnik Bruce Likly kaže da mu službeni telefoni nisu prestali zvoniti u proteklih godinu dana. "Naše poslovanje od osnivanja firme 2017. dramatično je raslo", kaže on. "Mislimo da je riječ o trendu koji se već osjećao, a koji je pandemija samo katalizirala.” Dinamika obitelji i prijateljstva se promijenila i dok je prije krug bliskih ljudi živio u istom geografskom području danas je normalno da smo raštrkani diljem zemlje pa i svijeta zbog čega su ovakve usluge i nevezano za pandemiju sve potrebnije, posebno uzme li se u obzir da neke religije zahtijevaju ukop u roku od 24 sata.
