Bio je osebujan, zabavan i jedinstven. Ruku na srce, na neki način ga nismo shvaćali previše ozbiljno. Jesmo, zajedno s Terezom 2004. proglasili smo ga dubrovačkim pjevačem stoljeća, ali opet je Milo bio previše naš da bi u njemu vidjeli istinsku zvijezdu hrvatske glazbene scene.

A uistinu je bio zvijezda! Ne samo zato što je tri puta pobijedio na nekad izuzetno uglednom Splitskom festivalu, ne zato što je otpjevao više od 200 pjesama i izdao 20 albuma, nego zato što je prodao više od milijun ploča, kazeta i svega onog što se danas zove nosačem zvuka. Današnje glazbene zvijezde u širem hrvatskom okruženju teško da bi uspjele pokloniti toliko nosača zvuka koliko ih je Milo prodao.

Zabavljao nas je njegov glazbeni stil. Ispružena ruka otvorenog dlana na kojem nam je uz pjesmu nudio i svoju dušu. Njegova raskopčana košulja nikad nije išla bez debelog zlatnog lančića. Kad je prvi brk hrvatske estrade, Mišo Kovač, 1984. ispjevao pjesmu o Dalmatincu koji nosi lančić oko vrata, nosi sunce na svom dlanu, kao da je stihovima "crtao" Mila Hrnića.

Uostalom, ako je Mišo prvi brk, Milo je drugi brk hrvatske estrade. I nema trećeg. Niti će ga ikad više biti. Ako ga mi u Dubrovniku nismo baš shvatili ozbiljno, jer smo zajedno s njime čekali red u butizi, s Vespom na semaforu čekali da se "otvori" zeleno, sjetimo se kakva je zvijezda Milo bio u Njemačkoj, Americi i Australiji. Njegova je zvijezda sjala jače kvadratom udaljenosti od gradskih zidina jer nema proroka u patriji…

Pjesma i more genetski su materijal od kojeg je skrojena dubrovačka glazbena legenda. Njegov polubrat, sad već pokojni Antun Simatović osnivač je Poklisara, gospel pop benda koji je na neki način preuzeo glazbenu palicu legendarnih Dubrovačkih trubadura. Bio je umjetnički voditelj Folklornog ansambla Linđo, autor je hitova ‘Snivaj Grade mili‘, ‘Tebi Grade bijeli‘, ‘Djevojka plavih očiju‘, ‘Spavaj slatko mala moja‘, ‘Samo ljubav želim dati‘ i ‘Vrati se‘, pa i himne 163., dubrovačke, brigade HV. A Milo se u mnogim stvarima ugledao na Antuna. Dakako, nije mu Antun bio jedina profesionalna podrška. Supruga Dubravka također se bavila glazbom.

Iako je još od osnovne i srednje škole volio glazbu, Milo karijeru umalo nije završio u brodskoj makinji. Bio je brodostrojar, a u to su vrijeme makinjisti u penziju redovito išli pomalo oštećenog sluha. Posada broda na kojem je plovio spasila je 1965., iz olujnog nevremena kakvo valjda samo Indijski ocean zna prirediti, dvadesetak olujnih ribara. Iz zahvalnosti, cijela je posada, zajedno s Milom, proglašena počasnim građanima Bombaja, najveće luke na Indijskom potkontinentu.

Srećom, 1970. godine maestro Đelo Jusić ga je zamolio da privremeno zamijeni jednog člana Trubadura na festivalu u Opatiji. Pet godina kasnije na Splitskom festivalu je osvojio prvo mjesto s pjesmom "Moja Ane broji dane" i tako je počela profesionalna karijera Boža Hrnića…. E da, roditelji su mu ime dali po djedu, ali je mama svog uvijek nasmijanog i dobro raspoloženog sina oduvijek zvala Milo. I jedino su ga pod tim imenom svi znali. Pa kad je konačno započeo svoju profesionalnu karijeru, promijenio je ime i postao legenda.

Na jednoj nedavnoj večeri dubrovačkog gradonačelnika Mata Frankovića s lokalnim urednicima dubrovačkih medija rodila se ideja da se Milu Hrniću idućom prilikom dodijeli Nagrada Dubrovnika za životno djelo. Zaslužio ju je.

Bio je osebujan, zabavan i jedinstven. Ruku na srce, na neki način ga nismo shvaćali previše ozbiljno. Jesmo, zajedno s Terezom 2004. proglasili smo ga dubrovačkim pjevačem stoljeća, ali opet je Milo bio previše naš da bi u njemu vidjeli istinsku zvijezdu hrvatske glazbene scene.

A uistinu je bio zvijezda! Ne samo zato što je tri puta pobijedio na nekad izuzetno uglednom Splitskom festivalu, ne zato što je otpjevao više od 200 pjesama i izdao 20 albuma, nego zato što je prodao više od milijun ploča, kazeta i svega onog što se danas zove nosačem zvuka. Današnje glazbene zvijezde u širem hrvatskom okruženju teško da bi uspjele pokloniti toliko nosača zvuka koliko ih je Milo prodao.

Zabavljao nas je njegov glazbeni stil. Ispružena ruka otvorenog dlana na kojem nam je uz pjesmu nudio i svoju dušu. Njegova raskopčana košulja nikad nije išla bez debelog zlatnog lančića. Kad je prvi brk hrvatske estrade, Mišo Kovač, 1984. ispjevao pjesmu o Dalmatincu koji nosi lančić oko vrata, nosi sunce na svom dlanu, kao da je stihovima "crtao" Mila Hrnića.

Uostalom, ako je Mišo prvi brk, Milo je drugi brk hrvatske estrade. I nema trećeg. Niti će ga ikad više biti. Ako ga mi u Dubrovniku nismo baš shvatili ozbiljno, jer smo zajedno s njime čekali red u butizi, s Vespom na semaforu čekali da se "otvori" zeleno, sjetimo se kakva je zvijezda Milo bio u Njemačkoj, Americi i Australiji. Njegova je zvijezda sjala jače kvadratom udaljenosti od gradskih zidina jer nema proroka u patriji…

Pjesma i more genetski su materijal od kojeg je skrojena dubrovačka glazbena legenda. Njegov polubrat, sad već pokojni Antun Simatović osnivač je Poklisara, gospel pop benda koji je na neki način preuzeo glazbenu palicu legendarnih Dubrovačkih trubadura. Bio je umjetnički voditelj Folklornog ansambla Linđo, autor je hitova ‘Snivaj Grade mili‘, ‘Tebi Grade bijeli‘, ‘Djevojka plavih očiju‘, ‘Spavaj slatko mala moja‘, ‘Samo ljubav želim dati‘ i ‘Vrati se‘, pa i himne 163., dubrovačke, brigade HV. A Milo se u mnogim stvarima ugledao na Antuna. Dakako, nije mu Antun bio jedina profesionalna podrška. Supruga Dubravka također se bavila glazbom.

Iako je još od osnovne i srednje škole volio glazbu, Milo karijeru umalo nije završio u brodskoj makinji. Bio je brodostrojar, a u to su vrijeme makinjisti u penziju redovito išli pomalo oštećenog sluha. Posada broda na kojem je plovio spasila je 1965., iz olujnog nevremena kakvo valjda samo Indijski ocean zna prirediti, dvadesetak olujnih ribara. Iz zahvalnosti, cijela je posada, zajedno s Milom, proglašena počasnim građanima Bombaja, najveće luke na Indijskom potkontinentu.

Srećom, 1970. godine maestro Đelo Jusić ga je zamolio da privremeno zamijeni jednog člana Trubadura na festivalu u Opatiji. Pet godina kasnije na Splitskom festivalu je osvojio prvo mjesto s pjesmom "Moja Ane broji dane" i tako je počela profesionalna karijera Boža Hrnića…. E da, roditelji su mu ime dali po djedu, ali je mama svog uvijek nasmijanog i dobro raspoloženog sina oduvijek zvala Milo. I jedino su ga pod tim imenom svi znali. Pa kad je konačno započeo svoju profesionalnu karijeru, promijenio je ime i postao legenda.

Na jednoj nedavnoj večeri dubrovačkog gradonačelnika Mata Frankovića s lokalnim urednicima dubrovačkih medija rodila se ideja da se Milu Hrniću idućom prilikom dodijeli Nagrada Dubrovnika za životno djelo. Zaslužio ju je.

Bio je osebujan, zabavan i jedinstven. Ruku na srce, na neki način ga nismo shvaćali previše ozbiljno. Jesmo, zajedno s Terezom 2004. proglasili smo ga dubrovačkim pjevačem stoljeća, ali opet je Milo bio previše naš da bi u njemu vidjeli istinsku zvijezdu hrvatske glazbene scene.

A uistinu je bio zvijezda! Ne samo zato što je tri puta pobijedio na nekad izuzetno uglednom Splitskom festivalu, ne zato što je otpjevao više od 200 pjesama i izdao 20 albuma, nego zato što je prodao više od milijun ploča, kazeta i svega onog što se danas zove nosačem zvuka. Današnje glazbene zvijezde u širem hrvatskom okruženju teško da bi uspjele pokloniti toliko nosača zvuka koliko ih je Milo prodao.

Zabavljao nas je njegov glazbeni stil. Ispružena ruka otvorenog dlana na kojem nam je uz pjesmu nudio i svoju dušu. Njegova raskopčana košulja nikad nije išla bez debelog zlatnog lančića. Kad je prvi brk hrvatske estrade, Mišo Kovač, 1984. ispjevao pjesmu o Dalmatincu koji nosi lančić oko vrata, nosi sunce na svom dlanu, kao da je stihovima "crtao" Mila Hrnića.

Uostalom, ako je Mišo prvi brk, Milo je drugi brk hrvatske estrade. I nema trećeg. Niti će ga ikad više biti. Ako ga mi u Dubrovniku nismo baš shvatili ozbiljno, jer smo zajedno s njime čekali red u butizi, s Vespom na semaforu čekali da se "otvori" zeleno, sjetimo se kakva je zvijezda Milo bio u Njemačkoj, Americi i Australiji. Njegova je zvijezda sjala jače kvadratom udaljenosti od gradskih zidina jer nema proroka u patriji…

Pjesma i more genetski su materijal od kojeg je skrojena dubrovačka glazbena legenda. Njegov polubrat, sad već pokojni Antun Simatović osnivač je Poklisara, gospel pop benda koji je na neki način preuzeo glazbenu palicu legendarnih Dubrovačkih trubadura.
