Grčka vlada prošli je tjedan najavila obračun s ilegalnom gradnjom na popularnom turističkom otoku Mikonos nakon što je lokalni arheolog, inače voditelj ureda za izdavanje dozvola za građenje, napadnut i pretučen ispred svoje kuće u Ateni, piše The Guardian.

Iako se slučaj još istražuje, sve upućuje da je napad na arheologa Manolisa Psarrosu, koji zbog ozlijeda završio u bolnici s potresom mozga i slomljenim rebrima, upozorenje otočkih moćnika svim državnim službenicima koji se bore protiv ilegalne gradnje na tom otoku u Egejskom moru, poznatom po burnom noćnom životu. Otok dva i pol sata trajektom udaljena od Atene, koji je u posljednjih nekoliko godina postao grčki turistički hit, u sezoni posjeti više od milijun turista, a generira i nekoliko milijardi eura prihoda. Lani ga je posjetio milijarder Elon Musk.

Međutim, kako piše Guardian, nagli rast u popularnosti i imidž party destinacije na otoku je doveo do eksplozije kriminala: droga, pranje novca, reketiranje, organizirani kriminal.

"Sve u vezi ovog napada ukazuje da je situacija na Mikonosu izvan kontrole", rekla je Despoina Koutsoumba iz Udruge grčkih arheologa. "Nema drugih motiva, jasno je da je Manolis Psarros žrtva mafijaškog napada. Radi se o ogromnim poslovnim interesima i cilj je bio utjerati strah u arheologe".

Grčki arheolozi, među kojima i napadnuti Manolis Psarros, u javnosti slove kao posljednji čuvari grčke povijesne ostavštine i zadnja linija obrane protiv razaranja i ilegalne gradnja na grčkim otocima koja se povezuje s turizmom. Grčke su vlasti, inače, dosad tolerirale ilegalnu gradnju na otoku Mikonosu ne želeći riskirati gubitak lokalnih glasača.

No sada je gradonačelnik Mykonosa Konstantinos Koukas ipak pozvao državu da zaštiti njihov otok od lokalnih moćnika, a grčki premijer Kyriakos Mitsotakis prošli je tjedan sazvao izvanredni sastanak ministara kako bi se raspravljalo o toj aferi. Grčki su dužnosnici otvoreno opisali Mikonos kao "državu u državi".

"Ne možemo imati otok na kojem neki ljudi misle da su iznad zakona. Ovo je situacija s kojom ćemo se odlučno suočiti", rekao je Mitsotakis poslije sastanka navodeći da će na otok poslati 100 dodatnih pripadnika osiguranja, uključujući policajce, istražitelje financijskog kriminala, ekološke i građevinske inspektore.

Inače, turizam čini 25 posto Grčkog BDP-a, što je jedna od najvećih brojki u EU. Hrvatska, primjerice, kao izrazito turistička zemlja, kojoj Grčka predstavlja ozbiljnu konkurenciju, ima udio od 20 posto, prema zadnjim podacima. Stručnjaci upozoravaju da bi Grčka uskoro mogla biti pregažena turistima. Lani je bila, primjerice, treće najposjećenija destinacija na svijetu, prenosi Jutarnji.hr.

Marigoula Apostolou, predsjednica lokalnog muzeja folklora na Mikonosu kaže da je "otok pun" i da je "premašio svoje granice".

"Naš prirodni okoliš je uništen, naša vodovodna i kanalizacijska infrastruktura ne može se nositi s tim, a o prijetnji našem životnom stilu time što nas nazivaju otokom zabave, neću ni govoriti, rekla je.

Dodala je i da je otok, otkriven još 1950-ih od putnika koji su posjećivali Delos, obližnji otok koji se dugo smatrao najsvetijim mjestom svijeta antičke Grčke, puno više od "eklektičnog jelovnika i noćnog života".

"Mi imamo običaje i tradiciju koje također treba istražiti. Svaki daljnji takozvani razvoj od strane ulagača pojačat će pritisak i dovesti do daljnje degradacije", zaključila je.

Grčka vlada prošli je tjedan najavila obračun s ilegalnom gradnjom na popularnom turističkom otoku Mikonos nakon što je lokalni arheolog, inače voditelj ureda za izdavanje dozvola za građenje, napadnut i pretučen ispred svoje kuće u Ateni, piše The Guardian.

Iako se slučaj još istražuje, sve upućuje da je napad na arheologa Manolisa Psarrosu, koji zbog ozlijeda završio u bolnici s potresom mozga i slomljenim rebrima, upozorenje otočkih moćnika svim državnim službenicima koji se bore protiv ilegalne gradnje na tom otoku u Egejskom moru, poznatom po burnom noćnom životu. Otok dva i pol sata trajektom udaljena od Atene, koji je u posljednjih nekoliko godina postao grčki turistički hit, u sezoni posjeti više od milijun turista, a generira i nekoliko milijardi eura prihoda. Lani ga je posjetio milijarder Elon Musk.

Međutim, kako piše Guardian, nagli rast u popularnosti i imidž party destinacije na otoku je doveo do eksplozije kriminala: droga, pranje novca, reketiranje, organizirani kriminal.

"Sve u vezi ovog napada ukazuje da je situacija na Mikonosu izvan kontrole", rekla je Despoina Koutsoumba iz Udruge grčkih arheologa. "Nema drugih motiva, jasno je da je Manolis Psarros žrtva mafijaškog napada. Radi se o ogromnim poslovnim interesima i cilj je bio utjerati strah u arheologe".

Grčki arheolozi, među kojima i napadnuti Manolis Psarros, u javnosti slove kao posljednji čuvari grčke povijesne ostavštine i zadnja linija obrane protiv razaranja i ilegalne gradnja na grčkim otocima koja se povezuje s turizmom. Grčke su vlasti, inače, dosad tolerirale ilegalnu gradnju na otoku Mikonosu ne želeći riskirati gubitak lokalnih glasača.

No sada je gradonačelnik Mykonosa Konstantinos Koukas ipak pozvao državu da zaštiti njihov otok od lokalnih moćnika, a grčki premijer Kyriakos Mitsotakis prošli je tjedan sazvao izvanredni sastanak ministara kako bi se raspravljalo o toj aferi. Grčki su dužnosnici otvoreno opisali Mikonos kao "državu u državi".

"Ne možemo imati otok na kojem neki ljudi misle da su iznad zakona. Hrvatska, primjerice, kao izrazito turistička zemlja, kojoj Grčka predstavlja ozbiljnu konkurenciju, ima udio od 20 posto, prema zadnjim podacima. Stručnjaci upozoravaju da bi Grčka uskoro mogla biti pregažena turistima. Lani je bila, primjerice, treće najposjećenija destinacija na svijetu, prenosi Jutarnji.hr.

Marigoula Apostolou, predsjednica lokalnog muzeja folklora na Mikonosu kaže da je "otok pun" i da je "premašio svoje granice".

"Naš prirodni okoliš je uništen, naša vodovodna i kanalizacijska infrastruktura ne može se nositi s tim, a o prijetnji našem životnom stilu time što nas nazivaju otokom zabave, neću ni govoriti, rekla je.

Dodala je i da je otok, otkriven još 1950-ih od putnika koji su posjećivali Delos, obližnji otok koji se dugo smatrao najsvetijim mjestom svijeta antičke Grčke, puno više od "eklektičnog jelovnika i noćnog života".

"Mi imamo običaje i tradiciju koje također treba istražiti. Svaki daljnji takozvani razvoj od strane ulagača pojačat će pritisak i dovesti do daljnje degradacije", zaključila je.

Otokom vlada droga i reket: stvari izmiču kontroli, mafija slomila rebra arheologu koji se bori protiv divlje gradnje

Grčka vlada prošli je tjedan najavila obračun s ilegalnom gradnjom na popularnom turističkom otoku Mikonos nakon što je lokalni arheolog, inače voditelj ureda za izdavanje dozvola za građenje, napadnut i pretučen ispred svoje kuće u Ateni, piše The Guardian.

Iako se slučaj još istražuje, sve upućuje da je napad na arheologa Manolisa Psarrosu, koji zbog ozlijeda završio u bolnici s potresom mozga i slomljenim rebrima, upozorenje otočkih moćnika svim državnim službenicima koji se bore protiv ilegalne gradnje na tom otoku u Egejskom moru, poznatom po burnom noćnom životu. Otok dva i pol sata trajektom udaljena od Atene, koji je u posljednjih nekoliko godina postao grčki turistički hit, u sezoni posjeti više od milijun turista, a generira i nekoliko milijardi eura prihoda. Lani ga je posjetio milijarder Elon Musk.

Međutim, kako piše Guardian, nagli rast u popularnosti i imidž party destinacije na otoku je doveo do eksplozije kriminala: droga, pranje novca, reketiranje, organizirani kriminal.

"Sve u vezi ovog napada ukazuje da je situacija na Mikonosu izvan kontrole", rekla je Despoina Koutsoumba iz Udruge grčkih arheologa. "Nema drugih motiva, jasno je da je Manolis Psarros žrtva mafijaškog napada. Radi se o ogromnim poslovnim interesima i cilj je bio utjerati strah u arheologe".

Grčki arheolozi, među kojima i napadnuti Manolis Psarros, u javnosti slove kao posljednji čuvari grčke povijesne ostavštine i zadnja linija obrane protiv razaranja i ilegalne gradnja na grčkim otocima koja se povezuje s turizmom. Grčke su vlasti, inače, dosad tolerirale ilegalnu gradnju na otoku Mikonosu ne želeći riskirati gubitak lokalnih glasača.

No sada je gradonačelnik Mykonosa Konstantinos Koukas ipak pozvao državu da zaštiti njihov otok od lokalnih moćnika, a grčki premijer Kyriakos Mitsotakis prošli je tjedan sazvao izvanredni sastanak ministara kako bi se raspravljalo o toj aferi. Grčki su dužnosnici otvoreno opisali Mikonos kao "državu u državi".

"Ne možemo imati otok na kojem neki ljudi misle da su iznad zakona.
