Otočno stanovništvo, a osobito turisti, sve češće prigovaraju zbog lošeg stanja državne ceste Sućuraj - Jelsa, o kojoj se u zadnje vrijeme govori kao o najopasnijoj prometnici koju su ikada vidjeli.
Umjesto očekivane rekonstrukcije, koja je najavljivana iz “Hrvatskih cesta”, Vlade te od državnih i lokalnih političara još od 2003. godine, turiste je i ove godine dočekala vrlo uska otočna prometnica, s velikim brojem opasnih i nepreglednih zavoja, dok je kolnički zastor izrazito istrošen i sa stotinama udarnih rupa, naročito na dionici od Poljica do Jelse.
K tome, nije realiziran ni najavljivani projekt spoja sjeverne obilaznice Jelse na tu cestu. - Prije turističke sezone na “krpanje” ceste od Sućurja do Poljica navodno je utrošeno 1500 tona asfalta, a navodno bi poslije ljeta konačno trebala uslijediti rekonstrukcija dionice do Jelse, uključujući i izgradnju obilaznice na njoj se nije radilo ama baš ništa.
Međutim, to za ljude nije nikakvo opravdanje i nema logike da barem nisu zakrpane brojne rupe koje su ponegdje i dublje od 10 centimetara, tako da je pravo čudo što već do sada nije bilo ozbiljnijih stradavanja ljudi i njihovih vozila - ljuti se Jure Gurdulić, predsjednik Mjesnog odbora Jelse i općinski vijećnik iz redova HSS-a.
Dakle, izjalovila su se i očekivanja općinskog načelnika Iva Milatića da bi rekonstrukcija ceste, vrijedna više od 25 milijuna kuna, mogla početi još prije turističke sezone, a to je u prvom redu bilo važno radi toga da se barem donekle umiri javnost.
Odustali od blokade
Općina se, istini za volju, odrekla naplate komunalnog doprinosa od 1.123.683,60 kuna, što bi “Hrvatske ceste” inače trebale platiti na ime te rekonstrukcije koja će se financirati kreditom i novcem iz državnog proračuna, samo da bi se realizirao projekt spoja sjeverne obilaznice na tu prometnicu, no ni to nije učinjeno.
Otočani su zbog svega toga razmišljali o privremenoj blokadi prometa na toj cesti, ali ipak je prevladalo mišljenje da to nije baš razumno učiniti u srcu sezone. A što će tek biti s otočnom žilom kucavicom od Poljica do Sućurja, čija se rekonstrukcija planira za razdoblje od 2012. do 2015., to se sa sigurnošću ne može reći. Vrijednost tih radova procjenjuje se na oko 40 milijuna eura, a trebali bi se financirati bespovratnim sredstvima iz fondova Europske unije.

Otočno stanovništvo, a osobito turisti, sve češće prigovaraju zbog lošeg stanja državne ceste Sućuraj - Jelsa, o kojoj se u zadnje vrijeme govori kao o najopasnijoj prometnici koju su ikada vidjeli.
Umjesto očekivane rekonstrukcije, koja je najavljivana iz “Hrvatskih cesta”, Vlade te od državnih i lokalnih političara još od 2003. godine, turiste je i ove godine dočekala vrlo uska otočna prometnica, s velikim brojem opasnih i nepreglednih zavoja, dok je kolnički zastor izrazito istrošen i sa stotinama udarnih rupa, naročito na dionici od Poljica do Jelse.
K tome, nije realiziran ni najavljivani projekt spoja sjeverne obilaznice Jelse na tu cestu. - Prije turističke sezone na “krpanje” ceste od Sućurja do Poljica navodno je utrošeno 1500 tona asfalta, a navodno bi poslije ljeta konačno trebala uslijediti rekonstrukcija dionice do Jelse, uključujući i izgradnju obilaznice na njoj se nije radilo ama baš ništa.
Međutim, to za ljude nije nikakvo opravdanje i nema logike da barem nisu zakrpane brojne rupe koje su ponegdje i dublje od 10 centimetara, tako da je pravo čudo što već do sada nije bilo ozbiljnijih stradavanja ljudi i njihovih vozila - ljuti se Jure Gurdulić, predsjednik Mjesnog odbora Jelse i općinski vijećnik iz redova HSS-a.
Dakle, izjalovila su se i očekivanja općinskog načelnika Iva Milatića da bi rekonstrukcija ceste, vrijedna više od 25 milijuna kuna, mogla početi još prije turističke sezone, a to je u prvom redu bilo važno radi toga da se barem donekle umiri javnost.
Odustali od blokade
Općina se, istini za volju, odrekla naplate komunalnog doprinosa od 1.123.683,60 kuna, što bi “Hrvatske ceste” inače trebale platiti na ime te rekonstrukcije koja će se financirati kreditom i novcem iz državnog proračuna, samo da bi se realizirao projekt spoja sjeverne obilaznice na tu prometnicu, no ni to nije učinjeno.
Otočani su zbog svega toga razmišljali o privremenoj blokadi prometa na toj cesti, ali ipak je prevladalo mišljenje da to nije baš razumno učiniti u srcu sezone. A što će tek biti s otočnom žilom kucavicom od Poljica do Sućurja, čija se rekonstrukcija planira za razdoblje od 2012. do 2015., to se sa sigurnošću ne može reći. Vrijednost tih radova procjenjuje se na oko 40 milijuna eura, a trebali bi se financirati bespovratnim sredstvima iz fondova Europske unije.
