[fulltext] => Kanađanin Spencer West, kojemu su obje noge amputirane, uspio se nakon osmnodnevnog uspona popeti na vrh Kilimandžara, u Tanzaniji, samo snagom svojih ruku.
West (31), rođen u Torontu, popeo se na najviši afrički vrh (gotovo 6.000 metara), koristeći ruke na 80 posto puta, a samo na nekim dijelovima i invalidska kolica.
Noge je izgubio kao petogodišnjak, zbog ageneze sakruma, genetske anomalije zbog koje su mu donji udovi ostali oduzeti.
"Fizički, ovo je pravi izazov jer sam gotovo cijeli put prešao na rukama, što stvara golem pritisak na ramena i ruke", rekao je u telefonskom razgovoru za AFP iz Nairobija, dodavši da je uspon bio "najveći izazov njegova života, u psihičkom i fizičkom pogledu".
Spencera su pratila dvojica najboljih prijatelja, David Johnson i Alex Meers, u svrha nesvakidašnjeg pothvata ponajprije je humanitarna. Trojica penjača uspjela su već prikupiti više od 500.000 kanadskih dolara za organizaciju Free The Children, koja nastoji osigurati pitku vodu stotinama ljudi u Keniji, zemlji koja je lani doživjela najgoru sušu u posljednjih šezdeset godina.

[text] => {OCMSplitter}Kanađanin Spencer West, kojemu su obje noge amputirane, uspio se nakon osmnodnevnog uspona popeti na vrh Kilimandžara, u Tanzaniji, samo snagom svojih ruku.
West (31), rođen u Torontu, popeo se na najviši afrički vrh (gotovo 6.000 metara), koristeći ruke na 80 posto puta, a samo na nekim dijelovima i invalidska kolica.
Noge je izgubio kao petogodišnjak, zbog ageneze sakruma, genetske anomalije zbog koje su mu donji udovi ostali oduzeti.
"Fizički, ovo je pravi izazov jer sam gotovo cijeli put prešao na rukama, što stvara golem pritisak na ramena i ruke", rekao je u telefonskom razgovoru za AFP iz Nairobija, dodavši da je uspon bio "najveći izazov njegova života, u psihičkom i fizičkom pogledu".
Spencera su pratila dvojica najboljih prijatelja, David Johnson i Alex Meers, u svrha nesvakidašnjeg pothvata ponajprije je humanitarna. Trojica penjača uspjela su već prikupiti više od 500.000 kanadskih dolara za organizaciju Free The Children, koja nastoji osigurati pitku vodu stotinama ljudi u Keniji, zemlji koja je lani doživjela najgoru sušu u posljednjih šezdeset godina.
