Branitelj naslova španjolski tenisač Rafael Nadal uspješno je preskočio pretposljednju prepreku na putu do obrane naslova na US Openu svladavši Britanca Andyja Murraya s 3-1 u setovima.

U drugom polufinalnom dvoboju na posljednjem Grand Slam turniru sezone 2. nositelj i lanjski pobjednik Rafael Nadal bio je bolji od 4. nositelja Britanca Andyja Murraya sa 6-4, 6-2, 3-6 i 6-2, te je na taj način upisao 13. pobjedu u njihovih 17. međusobnih ogleda.

Prvi pogled na statistiku vrlo brzo otkriva razloge ovakvog rezultata. Premda je Murray imao 13 winnera više od suparnika presudio je veliki broj neprisiljenih pogrešaka, čak 55 u odnosu na svega 23 Nadalove. Tu razliku od 32 poena bilo je nemoguće nadoknaditi u ostalim elementima igre.

Dodajmo da je Španjolac relizirao tek trećinu od 18 prilika za obrat (33%), no Murray je u tom segmentu bio još skromniji iskoristivši 2 od 10 (20%). Tek je u trećem setu Murray uspio smanjiti broj grešaka, no već u četvrtom gledatelji u New Yorku su nastavili gledati siguran hod Nadala prema novom velikom obračunu dvojice trenutno najboljih tenisača svijeta, ovaj put u finalu US Opena.

Podsjetimo, u prvom polufinalnom meču 1. igrač svijeta i 1. nositelj Srbin Novak Đoković preokrenuo je minus od dva seta protiv Švicarca Rogera Federera, te izborio finale.

Bit će to 29. susret prve dvojice na ATP ljestvici, a do sada je uspješniji bio Nadal koji ima 16 pobjeda, premda treba napomenuti da je posljednjih pet dvoboja, odnosno svih pet koje su odigrali ove godine, dobio srpski tenisač.

Da li će Nadal prekinuti Đokovićev niz i obraniti naslov iz 2010. godine ili će Đoković zaokružiti nejverojatnu godinu trijumfom u New Yorku ostaje da vidimo u finalu...

Branitelj naslova španjolski tenisač Rafael Nadal uspješno je preskočio pretposljednju prepreku na putu do obrane naslova na US Openu svladavši Britanca Andyja Murraya s 3-1 u setovima.

U drugom polufinalnom dvoboju na posljednjem Grand Slam turniru sezone 2. nositelj i lanjski pobjednik Rafael Nadal bio je bolji od 4. nositelja Britanca Andyja Murraya sa 6-4, 6-2, 3-6 i 6-2, te je na taj način upisao 13. pobjedu u njihovih 17. međusobnih ogleda.

Prvi pogled na statistiku vrlo brzo otkriva razloge ovakvog rezultata. Premda je Murray imao 13 winnera više od suparnika presudio je veliki broj neprisiljenih pogrešaka, čak 55 u odnosu na svega 23 Nadalove. Tu razliku od 32 poena bilo je nemoguće nadoknaditi u ostalim elementima igre.

Dodajmo da je Španjolac relizirao tek trećinu od 18 prilika za obrat (33%), no Murray je u tom segmentu bio još skromniji iskoristivši 2 od 10 (20%). Tek je u trećem setu Murray uspio smanjiti broj grešaka, no već u četvrtom gledatelji u New Yorku su nastavili gledati siguran hod Nadala prema novom velikom obračunu dvojice trenutno najboljih tenisača svijeta, ovaj put u finalu US Opena.

Podsjetimo, u prvom polufinalnom meču 1. igrač svijeta i 1. nositelj Srbin Novak Đoković preokrenuo je minus od dva seta protiv Švicarca Rogera Federera, te izborio finale.

Bit će to 29. susret prve dvojice na ATP ljestvici, a do sada je uspješniji bio Nadal koji ima 16 pobjeda, premda treba napomenuti da je posljednjih pet dvoboja, odnosno svih pet koje su odigrali ove godine, dobio srpski tenisač.

Da li će Nadal prekinuti Đokovićev niz i obraniti naslov iz 2010. godine ili će Đoković zaokružiti nejverojatnu godinu trijumfom u New Yorku ostaje da vidimo u finalu...
